nkjellman 1,715
Now that I think about it, I have some concerns about LC being in V. 1. We don't know how long Rockstar is going to keep updating GTA Online for. In the past, total conversions never really took off for GTA titles before updates stopped coming in from Rockstar. The mod would need to be updated for every update so it works on the latest patch. If it requires a limit adjuster, that could be a problem. 2. Many people who make an LC TC are going to want to use GTA IV's peds. However, they are not that great of quality compared to GTA V's peds. GTA V's peds would fit LC if the time of year were changed to summer. Which means that the vegetation would have to be changed to summer vegetation. 3. We may still need a limit adjuster if it is going to be added to LS. Past GTA V's map, there is still water that is not spawned via the water meta file. Not to mention that there is a circle around LS that appears when far away. I would like to add LC, without replacing LS. It would be sorta like an HD Era version of Underground. Which means that Bullworth could be included as well. 4. In GTA V, if you pass under a water tile, it will treat you like you are under water. This means that any subway or road tunnel under the rivers in LC will be flooded. Not sure if it would work, but it may be possible that the game won't do this if it thinks you are in an interior. In that case, you would be if you are technically in a subway/road tunnel. If I remember from the flooded LS mod, people would still act like normal in the Strip Club if you dived down into there, and the lighting looked like you weren't under water. It probably wouldn't treat you like you are under water if you are in an interior when you pass under the water tile. But I don't think GTA V has any tunnels that pass under water tiles. If the water tiles are going to be a problem, it may be possible to remove the water in game under certain conditions. Since you are in the tunnel, you wouldn't see it. Someone managed to remove much of the water with Cheat Engine a while back.

If you look closely though, you will see that there are no spots where the house is actually under water. The tile the house sits in is removed, and they built the house so it sticks up out of the water. So there are no rooms with water above them.

Ash_735 17,124
OpenIV have declared this project dead, we all need to go use their closed source version because only they are allowed to do map mods now.

So I just did something. Looks like tunnels may be possible.

WildBrick142 24,846
^ Care to elaborate your experiment?Still experimenting with it but basically, in "water.xml", I set the "HasLimitedDepth" value to true for all the tiles and that did it. The water effect only works for 5 or so coordinates on the Z axis when the "HasLimitedDepth" value is set to true, still trying to change that but nothing I've tried so far works. It might be controlled by waterheight.dat and that is literally unreadable.
Mr.Arrow 761
Try messing with "NoStencil" ? I'm not on my computer right now, so I guess I could tried your method and see if the game would suffice. Edited January 6, 2017 by Mr.Arrow
