Has anyone tried to get a friend to pick you up with a Cargobob?

A friend and I were talking about trying this the other day.

I kept trying with my bati but couldn't do it so bought at adder to do it with. After a few goes got it done in 2.03.993. This one is harder than the first two, do it at night because of less traffic.

Even at night there's tons of traffic.

Yeah, unless they ease up the time limits on these a bit, or improve the servers so the damn A.I Traffic isn't lagging, and crazy, I won't be doing these much. The amount of time I spent trying to beat the par time, I can easily make over 200K doing missions, and heists. Also, add some more variety so you can use something besides a Super Car, or Motorcycle.

The next one appears to be off road, no traffic, so you should be good for that one.

Bad connections today, so empty lobbies/falling connections. Less than five starts, best 2.10,something. It wasn't perfect, but THAT slow! :O i think i might have to pass this.

Yeah, right. I will fkng make it.

Is ducking better than riding normally?

Yes

Normal -> Ducking -> Wheelie

So I've been right to always atleast duck, but normally to wheelie.

This is a long shot (and I'm in denial about me sucking this bad) but could it have anything to do with strength? I'm over level 120, but i am almost at minimum stat strength-wise.

Strength no, Driving Maybe?

I don't see how people are doing this in cars. When you lean forward on the Akuma it's as fast as a T20 or Zentorno, and it's easy to do this trial with an Akuma and lean forward the whole way, but when i try that i'm not even close to the par time.

I had to wheelie with a Bati to get 2:04.5 after many tries.

By the way thanks to the two guys who noticed that i was trying to do the time trial and then drove out to Zancudo and spent their time piling up cars in the tunnel so i couldn't get through.

When I did the time trial it bugged out and gave me 5 minutes to complete it, right at the 2 minute mark. I think they removed it for said bug. P.S. Sorry for the bad video quality.

Nope I have that one. Been trying to get it done, but everything you think could possibly go wrong does.

I finally got this done this morning. Whew! I finally had the perfect run where I was able to wheelie for long stretches without a random car coming along at the wrong time to make me swerve wildly, or wreck me. Once I hit the tunnel at 1:39 I knew I was in good shape. Hope the next one is a little easier, because this was brutal.

CrisisAverted already got the new one once. Maybe he can tell us the start and stop points so we can start practicing now? I know it is at Mt Gordo.

On mobile at work so I cant go searching for his thread.

Well he did post a video with him already beating it in the thread he made.

and if you ignore the extra doodle I made on this map, The start is at the Orange circle at the bottom and the end is at the Yellow near the radio tower thingy at the top of the mountain.

I've tried about a dozen times, some on bikes some with an entity. No good, can't get it.

If you take the GPS route, take the following advice:

1. Use a fully-modded Bati RR.

2. If you hit anything or are slowed down in any way, immediately hold triangle and respawn.

3. Have full health and body armor.

4. The absolute most critical moment is when you take the right and immediate left and immediate right to enter the down ramp to the ocean highway. This must be taken as fast as absolutely possible, using the handbrake, and cutting across the sidewalks and through traffic. You want to achieve MINIMAL airtime when entering onto the ramp. This is the most important part to blaze through.

5. Hit the apexes on EVERY CORNER, no matter how minor. This means that you will have to weave in an out of traffic the entire way. This means more crashing, but it's the only way. Just find the straightest line and RESPAWN IMMEDIATELY if you hit anything.

6. Wheelie almost the entire time.

Those who have trouble with bike why not just try a car?

I've tried both and can't get either. Mainly because of traffic and the rumble strips slowing me down.

I remember you saying that you get to the Tunnel between 1.30 and 1.40 and i don't understand how you don't make it on time. When i got 1.57, i hit the tunnel at 1.35 and it wasn't the most perfect drive from there to the finish line. if any of you here have good enough upload speeds and strong enough PC's to record a video, do that and upload it. Maybe we'll see what you're doing wrong there and will tell you about it.

I used to be able to get to tunnel at that time not anymore, the more I try the worse I do.

I typically enter tunnel now about 142-145

Yeah, I've seen that suggested quite a lot, and it's based on nothing other than someone's idea. We have no reason at all to think that the par times are anything other than a simple calculation. Actually, suggesting that anyone at Rockstar actually plays this game makes me laugh. I'd be embarrassed to be involved in the development of this game!

Either way, I'm loving the time trials and this one does look very interesting. Only 7 hours till I get to have a go!

I'd say that we have more reason to believe that the par times are an actual human's time than that Rockstar wrote a script that takes into account distance, terrain, altitude, slope, traffic, and automatically finds the best possible route disregarding GPS entirely, generating a time of a key difficulty and then running it every week on a time trial they themselves made.

This shocks me, though:

I'd be embarrassed to be involved in the development of this game!

I sure as hell wouldn't. GTA V is the fourth best-selling game in history. That's a hell of an achievement. Rockstar, like them or not, are a pretty damn prestigious company to work for.

Lol @ all of that. Sorry, but no. Rockstar is *not* a prestigious company to work for. It may look it from the outside but if you've ever looked into it and seen what the employees say then it's a very, very unhappy workplace. It's a job that you could show off with, by telling people you work for them, but you wouldn't be happy.

Anyway, I'm talking from a professional point of view. If I wrote software that had that many bugs in it and was so badly architected that (for example) a dead NPC in your vehicle meant you could duplicate your car and then sell the dupe , I wouldn't admit to being involved. Being one of (if not the) biggest selling games of all time has no bearing on whether or not it's a well written piece of software. It isn't.

We have zero reason to believe that a Rockstar employee has set the par time. It's pure fiction.

based on you view i suspect the height of your professional career was doing the washing up in Macky D's.

Ps4 version is what, at least 40gigs? You can do a loads of things with this game, and it rarely hiccups. Do you have a clue what kind of amounts amounts of data that is? It's like making sure that a huge, huge library doesn't have any spelling errors in any of the books, or any contradicting stories or views between any of them.

Last-gen is even more impressive. The sheer amount of content, the sheer scale of the map and the things the engine can do, all packed into a system that was eight years old.

So first of all; before you tell someone why they're wrong, you probably should pick up a dictionary and learn the meaning of a few words. Rockstar are prestigious whether working conditions are bad or fantastic. Rockstar are highly respected developers throughout the industry, even Hideo Kojima has said himself in the past. They are arguably the most prestigious developer based on GTA V's success alone.

"if you've ever looked into it and seen what the employees say"

Rockstar have literally thousands of employee's. To make conclusions based on a few would be prejudice.

You're a professional? Can I see your qualifications? GTA V from a technical standpoint is an absolute masterpiece. To be able to run a game of this scale on over 10 year old hardware(360/PS3) is just utterly outstanding. Is that the best you can come up with? A small duplication bug that was fixed within a week? Find me something as bad as Arkham Knight, maybe you will have a point.

We have zero reason to believe what you just said is true. All par times have been achievable so far, so it makes sense that someone has tested the courses.

"Good for you"? What happened to the spunk and psuedointellectualism I expected? I'm almost disappointed.
