Need assistance: No sound at all in my game! Help!

The issue is no sound, at all. I've made another post about this and it got the attention of one person for one message. This a huge problem for me and nothing has solved it so far. Nothing else on the forum addresses this issue. I've reinstalled the game, installed the direct x that everyone says to install to fix the issue, and my sound settings are default. If anyone has any help for me, I would greatly appreciate it. I can't play this game without sound, it just isn't the same and it frustrates me that there seems to be no one else having this issue.
