Some musings about the next game in the series, and a question.

Since it's been out for a while, I think we can all agree that the game is a success. Sure, it has its critics, or people who say it hasn't moved on so much from the previous game, or that the incessant DLC takes away from the experience, but overall we like it right?

 

I'm already excited for the next game the devs have planned in the series. A whole new setting, new DLC... we might even see the new hardware really get brought to the limit. It's fun to think about, even though we all know that the current game has a lifestyle way ahead of it yet.

 

But that doesn't mean I can't already get hype, right? What about you? Are you looking forward to the next game in the series? Will the multiplayer aspect of it hold up to the current game? What kind of DLC do you think it would have?

 

Overall, how good do you think Righteous Slaughter 8 is going to be?

My theory is simple: SP got changed. Heists Update was, essentially, a fully scripted campaign that involves your Online characters, but that it sets the tone for what R* would like to make into the future of this game.

 

I would not be surprised if "Los Santos Stories" is nothing but a fleshed out campaign from beginning to end featuring Online Protagonists instead of the three SP characters.

 

Part of me also hopes that an easy way to grow into another city is to have your Los Santos based character form a syndicate, and pick up new criminals in other cities (Ie, a new character) who can get started rising from the bottom up in a new location (ie, Liberty City). It would be an easy way to establish a line from GTAV/GTAO to a new world without having the immense power that people have established here overwhelming any story that could be designed in a new setting, a way to ensure that we can have our multimillion dollar cake and still enjoy a power curve and growth.

 

That's just wide-eyed dreaming, though. Which usually ends in my character sponsering a new criminal enterprise in Vice City because goddamned airboats.
