Usual sh*tty dlc updates aint gonna cut it anymore. They must notice the number of players going down. The next update has got to be something substantial.

For the first time I actually played a different game other than GTA for the whole day. It's been a little over a week since I played it and don't have that strong urge of going back. I just didn't get that urge to play GTA V like I did before. It's getting too stale and boring. It's been only two years and I'm already anticipating the release of VI. IV was fun for almost 5 years.

The problem is player count is not going down, GTA V is still selling incredibly well, and is in Steams top charts, the game has a higher player count than Destiny which has been released just 1 year ago.(all platforms combined Destiny is first on PS4).

I like how people allways say "players are leaving", but this isnt happening if it would be, R* would simply cut support as they said:

They are going to continue making GTA Online as long as enough people still play it.

GTA Onlines recent ACTIVE player base was at 8 million, and that was BEFORE the new Update.(And please don't come off with claims R* was lieng about numbers, because that would be illegal, considering investors also look at that sort of information.)

Can someone explain what the LOW update is

12 lowrider cars.

..allegedly

We have the list and the codename. Whether it happens, or not, is up to r*. They removed the list w the last dlc so it either was cut, or they removed it bcuz its still coming soon. Im leaning towards it still happening imo. All the cars on the list are technically in the "muscle" class (except moonbeam) but they fit in the lowrider theme. the Sabre GT and Buccaneer is nowhere close to bein a lowrider.

Are you kidding me? The Buccaneer is based primarily off the Buick Riviera. Literally the 2nd most used car for Lowriders and is extremely popular for that. Only surpassed by the Impala.

And many A body GM cars are used as Lowriders as well, which is what the Sabre is based off of....

I'm talking about in the game the car is meant to be a muscle car. I wasnt talking about real cars.

Co-op side story, missions like single player but rewards go to your online character, also have the option to play by yourself or with up to four people.

I have a feeling we'll be getting something like this eventually. 'People constantly beg for new Contact Missions, and there being no new ones for a real long time may point to a possibility that they might be working on something special. That's what I think. 'Being that Contact Missions are easy to make, what is their excuse for not publishing more?

The game could really benefit from a deeper, cinematic cooperative experience. As Heists exemplify, they obviously have quite a knack for it.

In real life they are muscle cars as well. That is what I am saying. Any car can be a Lowrider, but those cars are very typical Lowriders. In game/real life doesn't matter.

I enjoy GTA5 both story and Online

and will give Rockstar and thumbs up for keeping all the DLC free

But that being said none of the updates other than heists gave me that oh boy hot damn feeling.........they were fun updates that gave me something to spend money on

I would like to see something that really changes things up like a red dead nightmare mode where all the NPCs were crazed zombies, Aliens or just plain damn crazy and trying to kill everyone, make the freeroam map one big survival area, with limited weapons and resources

and apply the same make over to missions ect.

For SP if you have completed the original story, let Michael Franklin, Trevor fight the hordes to maintain the empire they created

I would be will to pay for something like this as it would add hours of different enjoyment to a game

Apt Customization's is something i wanted early on, but i think how much time do i spend in the Apt...Little to none, why, because there is nothing really to do watch TV listen to the radio change clothes or shower.....now its the space i spawn into, then head straight out the door

Cars and weapons are fun, but 90% of the players go out and buy them the day they are released, so you really dont have anything that u can call your own....

Am I the only one who would willing pay for updates? Five bucks, one every month, bring some very different content to the table each time?

Still splitting the player base, is definately NOT a good idea in an Online game, also the type of content would need to be limited and not offer a specific advantage.

It works for SP but just doesnt for Online.

I wish they'd go out of their way and add generations to cars like the Comet and Sentinel. Gah a 964 Targa and an e30 M3 would be the best thing ever.

I don't see how paid dlc would split the player base. I drive around in my Dukes just fine.

See what I'm sayin?

Don't pay for that Bahama Mamas DLC? Door is locked for you. Don't pay for that Mission Creator DLC? That option is greyed out in the Creator. Don't pay for that Casino DLC? Doors are locked for you.

There will never be alternate game styles like RDR. We will never get an Undead Nightmare GTA Online Edition. Anything they add that is paid would just be integrated like the DLC that is already "paid", like the Marshall, Dukes, etc.

Now that being said, paid DLC is coming at some point. They said it. Rockstar did. I know things change but I still firmly believe at some point, we will get a paid expansion.

We all know a LOT of people would be so pissed at paid DLC, especially if it is Casino or similar.

I for one would be fine, but thats not how most of the player base thinks, they would think they are missing out on something, especialy after 2 years of FREE DLC they feel they are entitled to free DLC.

Yeah but eventually they'll give in. A strategy like this, I'd actually agree with even if it is a bit careless. I'm all for paid DLC. Then people can actually have discussion on here without saying "herr durr itz free dlc ya caint complain" because that got old a while ago.

@Mach1bud is right. Whether you pay for it or not, we all have to download the update. At least until (cue public humiliation) map expansion.

And you're right in that R* did say that they will do paid dlc at some point. Stuff such as the casino and mission creator I would have no problem with paying for those. Where I disagree with Scaglietti is the timeframe. 1 month isn't enough time to develop meaningful DLC's. Heist was meaningful and it took a long time (I'm not saying all meaningful DLC's will take 2 years, I think more of a 2-3 month timeframe) and despite the 2 month space from IGG part 2 (cue public humiliation again) I think Freemode had more of a 3-6 month developement time (from concept to testing)

Online missions are simplistic, I said it before, take the capture creator and turn the teams to 1 and you could create most of the online missions. Heist required a little more programming but more than anything over online missions, writing, voice acting, mo-capping. Freemode required programming, yeah, there are fixes that require programming in every update, but they are the most likely the same programmers doing the hot fixes we never know about until after they're done. Outside of integrating the Lab radio (something that probably was underway since PC release) IGG really only used concept artists, modelers and texture artists. (There's a reason for car stats, plug in new values for speed, acceleration, traction, etc and for a few hidden ones such as in-air handling and they're done)

Imagine like a Lootcrate type deal. Just cars, guns and clothes, with a specific theme each month. Lowrider with a '64 Impala and '67 Riv, classic 50's with a Nomad, and a Cameo/Apache and F-100, Gangster with an Uzi, PMP 600, new mods for the Cavalcade and bringing back the Cavalcade FXT, 80's era stuff with a special Mothership livery for the BF Surfer, bringing back the Faction as a Grand National look alike with the exact wheels and such and an older 911 and the older Banshee like the C4 Corvette... And the packs wouldn't be download necessary either. You wouldn't have to buy the pack for the month to play online like with past updates. You get a preview for each month and can see what's in the pack, and if you like what you see, do it up. If not, then you don't have to. Damn, why can't some of us work at Rockstar? Take care of the boredom problem pretty goddamn quick.

The mission creator will never happen. While there may be lots of us who would want to make lots of challenging missions there will be many many many more who will just use it to make easy farming missions for RP and Cash.

When R* starts to introduce paid dlc as they have stated, then the money grinding aspect of the update model will no longer be a factor. We can already see signs of it since the freemode update had nothing to purchase, if you don't count the copious amounts of ammo but I've been a bit of free roam deathmatch player already

On another topic. I just realized we haven't had the latest editor contest yet. That'll alone occupy a month. My optimism for an update this month hasn't vanished but significantly dropped.

I'm not putting my money on us getting more heists. That wasn't what I was going for.

And people claim they're easy to make because the official word was that they are much easier to make than heists.

And given creator tools, it is very easy to replicate your basic contact mission. It's just a little time consuming thats all.

Ugh, contact missions aren't made in creator, they are entirely coded so,so much for that part.

They are indeed a lot easier to make than Heists simply because Heists have to be unique in every aspect, make sense in Story, be Voice acted, have an unique Vehicle in them(one in each Heists), have new interiors(or even a f*cking aircraft carrier), have checkpoints, have unque Tasks for FOUR not ONE player, meaning that you have to code usualy 2 missions for one Setup or design the Setup that clever every player is busy, AND they have to make cutscene for the whole thing which are motion captured and written well AND in addition to all that you have to be aware of the console limitations on Last Gen only allowing a certain amount of synced entities on the field.

Sounds harder than you though huh?

Contact Missions in comparison are of course "easy to make" but they are still not that easy, you also have to animate them properly, code the AI properly so it doesnt bug out, design a unique mission in an efficient way(see for example Chop Chop), for some contact missions you have to make minigames,(like the safe in some of them), you have to be aware this features do not bug, and you of course need creative ideas.

Besides, player base won't necessarily split, RDR made it possible for people which didn't have certain dlc still see it online but not use it.

It is possible that paid DLC comes, time will tell...

it's funny that you think coding is so easy. Plus about paid DLC people get very angry that you have to pay real money to get the DLC and then if you don't have money in game you either have to grind missions or you have to buy shark cards and most people like the easy way out so more likely they will buy sharkcards so I don't see that happening. I would be willing to pay for content, this is the only game that hasnt asked me to pay for it

As far as splitting the player base goes i have to laugh....all cod titles make you pay for the DLC some have it some dont, either way there is always enough of the haves and have nots to find a lobby and start playing
