The GTA V Story Mode DLC Speculation Thread

Hey all (and thanks Kirsty)!
I recently got some new informations that, I gotta admit, are very surprising, but also very interesting. Remember how I kept saying the the SP DLC is no longer a thing, that they basically cancelled it and forgot about it to instead use some of it and their efforts on GTA Online Updates? Well, apparently upper management are starting to seriously consider bringing it back, even thouh it would only come after RDR2 launches (and maybe not right after it, could be a while).
As we kinda guessed with the few things that were found about it in the files a while ago, mostly by Fun, thy already had quite a lot of work done before they "scrapped" it. I was told it is 60-70% complete - mo cap, tech animations and voice over are done. Basically the biggest part of the job is done, completing it would not be that hard.
Supporting GTA V with a DLC after RDR2 could also mean they will keep supporting GTA Online at least until this DLC comes out, in my opinion. That goes against the info I had a while back saying that they were planning to end the GTA Online updates around Spring 2017, but them changing their minds is not a very surprising thing.
As always, that's just what I heard, it doesn't mean it's all spot on or correct, and as I said above, Rockstar love changing their minds, but I thought it would be interesting to share. Now please don't go make videos titled "GTA V SINGLE PLAYER DLC CONFIRMED", or I'll bitch slap you. Thx.

Sounds good to me. I got over the fact that it won't be coming out, so if they do release something, I would not mind it at all.

Yeah but it's not too going to be released until after red 2 is being released. If it does happen that is.

"upper management are starting to seriously consider bringing it back"

That's quite funny.

But releasing it after RDR2 seems a bit stupid. They'd better get on with it and finish it before. They could "easily" do that by completely neglecting GTAO in the next 10 months. Sounds extreme? Yeah, not gonna happen.

No matter what time they will release it, GTA will always sell. Especially if they market it good. It will hold people over till 6, too.

I believe they can Finish it and Release it 2017. I feel those other studios should work on it instead the big ones (R* North etc)

If they ever release a Story DLC, I hope it will contain all the Online stuff they've been actively keeping out of singleplayer.

2017 seems a bit too early. Pretty sure that they'll wait for the right marketing time and there's Quality Testing and all the inside work. And no, nothing will make them abandon GTA O for now, not for years together.

idk why people still want this so much, i feel i got quite enough on xbox360 version and all the dlc's up to july 8th 2015, if my xbox 360 dies i will probably find another and if not then ps3 because i like the last gen and i wouldn't want the bugs of next gen/pc!

You should upgrade tbh. Last gen has a lot more bugs then you actually think.

Who knows they could just announce it right now if they wanted to. While Red Dead Redemption 2 is currently being developed by all key studios. Rockstar San Diego is doing all of the work. Rockstar North will go back working on GTA after RDR2 goes gold.

I'll take this with a grain of salt, I'm not going to have my hopes up but I'll keep an open mind.

Singleplayer will always give you a better experience than Online, those tiny details that get disabled in Online really hurts the immersion factor.

That's the least they can do for us.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Half Life 3 has better odds than a SP DLC

Do janitors get to hear what the upper management are communicating among themselves? Lol.

What does "upper management" mean anyway? Studio head(s) at North or the Housers in New York?

Watch Dogs 2 is the story mode DLC we deserve.

It's nothing like the first chapter, it's a lot like GTA V.

San Francisco is wonderful.

Get it.
