The GTA V Story Mode DLC Speculation Thread

I'm gonna give a listen to Take-Two's conference call as I actually find financial reports interesting (i'm in an accounting class) and I'll put up live comments on whether they've said anything damning. I doubt they'll give any info to the future of Rockstar Games though.

EA just announced during their call that their will be a NEW Battlefield to be launched during holiday 2016, and a NEW Titanfall is in production.

We already knew that though, not long after Titanfalls release. They're using a cycle of Battlefield - Titanfall - Battlefront - repeat...

Yes unfortunately they only focus on the financial standpoint throughout the conference. If i'm not mistaken though isn't there usually a question they answer by the end of it?

We already know that two titles are coming from Take Two this year if I'm not mistaken (one being Mafia III, I guess). They said something like this a few months ago. I don't think they'll tell us more than that at a financial conference.

How come Funmw2 gets this information (tip) on the likelihood of the A and A events?

I thought he used to provide information based on the game files, but to predict something like A&A needs some insider sources, which I find hard to believe.

Rockstar, as we all know are the highly secretive developers, so it makes me wonder!

Nobody Knows whether the main source is full of sh*t or not. Its not looking good for this source right now if I have to be honest. However An A&A is bound to happen at some point I reckon. On the other hand, there is always that Infamous chance that R* delay things accidentally.

 

It would be really good to find out, where the core of this information is coming from? That is for sure.

As somebody who plays mostly online these days (unless psn is down..), i'd really like to see all of the vehicles online exclusive content released for single player. If its peppered throughout a new dlc, then even better. But if we DON'T get a dlc, I really want hydra, low riders, yachts, weapons, ect, ect... It's all cut content mostly, so it shouldn't be to hard to release for SP.

I'm not saying that they'll announce a game on Rockstar's behalf. I'm just saying that MAYBE we can get confirmation about the unannounced title to be from Rockstar. They can say something like "One unannounced title by Rockstar Games will release during fiscal year 2017."

I want Online DLC for SP as much as the next guy but, if you payed any attention to the story at all, you'd see Franklin hates the gang life so how the f*ck does this fit his theme perfectly?

Even if you didn't, people on this forum point it out time and time again, Franklin wants NOTHING to do with gangs, that's basically his whole character arc in the story, leaving low rent crimes to do high end sh*t so how the f*ck does it fit his theme perfectly? It'd be cool if we did get the DLC for SP but seriously, Franklin doesn't want to be a gangbanger, he literally moved away from the hood to live in Rockford Hills, he was even willing to let Lamar die because he didn't want to keep getting pulled back in. If that doesn't show his disdain for the hood, I don't know what will. I'm sorry I went on this huge rant over a small part of a sentence, but seriously, if people want a SP DLC so much, they should at least f*cking understand the story first.

There's a difference between understanding and not caring. I understand each characters story, but at the end of the day, the fun and gameplay is what matters most. That's one of the biggest complaints of GTA IV, too serious and the 'fun' of SA had been lost. IV was still great, but i really missed what SA gave us. Same now, I don't care for Franklins story, I just want the vehicles, weapons and new additions online got.

If they're going to treat GTA Online as a standalone game and the next GTA titles will have those cities, than there's a chance I think.. Now it is more plausible to have Liberty and maybe Yankton. As I said before, a map expansion is the next big step for GTA Online as we're approaching the third year of activity. (My opinion)

If they try to make it a standalone title i'll be happy because it will send a strong message that most people want the single player component with a little bit of online if you have some buddies that want to play from time to time. I think it would be lucky to sell a few million copies.

You are absolutely correct, what we do outside of missions has nothing to do with the storyline.

It doesn't make much sense for Michael and Franklin to go on killing sprees, for example, but we still can do that, because it's fun.

The reason why GTA IV it's amazing it's the great and deep storyline R* (C* now) made. Although the game lack many of the great things SA had, it was different and much more realistic. SA had also an amazing story apart from great gameplay. That's why it's the best GTA of all. V on the other hand, lacks both. Yeah, it has many things to have and customize, but remember that Quantity < Quality.
