'high priority case' mission - impossible?

choppers and planes are all taken out upon going to airports etc.

called in merryweathers chopper pickup but the heli stays in the air.

the description of this mission mentions a buzzard chopper, so why is this removed?

i tried climbing all the way up, i get shot to hell really quickly or when on top and trying to parachute it wont open in time and i die.

this mission has a serious design flaw and its actually impossible to do.

Make sure to call the Merryweather pick-up on a clear site and stay away from the landing zone, he'll sometimes hover around but he'll eventually land, make sure to kill him so you can use the chopper to land on top of the maze bank helipad then use your sniper rifle to snipe out all enemies on the top floor, you can then use the chopper to land on the construction site, be careful because after you pick up the briefcase an enemy buzzard will appear and remember, you only have one life.

As soon as you get the cash get yourself a buzzard, it's quick and reliable.

The enemy chopper spawn is a Maverick.

so what do i do after the buzzard arrives, shall i equip with a homing missle launcher or something before starting it?

what clear sites do you recommend, the airport or is there somewhere closer?

Save yourself the ammo. After collecting the briefcase, head back in to the chopper and make a very speedy exit to Lester.

Not in my experience; he'll sit there hovering, cuss at you for wasting his time, and (if you wait long enough) fly off, cussing at you and threatening to tell his boss about you.

If I encounter that, I give him a minute or two, then just nail the idiot:

IMO, this mission was a major oversight by R*. Not everyone has the level unlock giving them access to buy a Buzzard or spawn a Maverick they need to get safely to the top, let alone a Heavy Sniper Rifle that lets you snipe the top of the building from the neighboring Maze bank, giving you a safe place to land and shoot your way down. Trying to climb up (and back down) the crane is very time consuming difficult at best.

Trying to nail the attacking Maverick is also dicey, even when you have a Homing Launcher or mini-gun. The NPCs (as fricking always) are deadly accurate, and can very quickly kill you in a few seconds if you're not careful. Here's a handy guide to completing this (but requires you be level 30 and have purchased the basic Sniper rifle):

Rockstar allows players who do not have the rank to request Merryweather heli pickup, buy a buzzard etc... This is not a good mission for grinding at low levels... Although if you really want to do it, you can use a marksman rifle for sniping, but buying a maverick of your own sucks until you get to a higher level... better if you have a friend with a pegasus heli of their own to help you.

But, if you are low level (as low as between 5 and 34) you should grind Rockford Roll to rank up since it opens at rank 5, then at rank 35 do Check Out Time until you get to rank 42 where you can get Editor and Thief. Rockford Roll requires no ammo, the other two only require a shotgun (that every rank can have) and just one shot to complete the missions... Grind them on Hard and time them to deliver at just over 4 minutes from when you can start moving your character in the missions for the best/most efficient grinding... and good luck.

If you were lucky enough to buy a Savage, especially when the heists had them for half off... that is the ideal heli for most missions... when you are not using your Hydra... But not many low rank players have the money to buy these ...

I forgot about not calling Lester during his missions. But most people don't realise "locate a chopper" actually spawns a chopper.

This is the mission the Valkyrie was made for.

ETA - which is why you don't kick me or other high levels from your missions, low levels.

...

"a clear site" means in this case a flat and even surface like a big crossroads intersection or a parking lot.

the helicopter wouldn't always land in small/tight roads or offroad like on a mountain.

^^ True--but Merryweather should consistently tell you when you make the first call whether or not they can land at your present location.

Not say "A helicopter is on the way", and then call back less than 60 seconds later saying "I'm sorry, our pilot can't land at your current location."

Yet another seemingly 'small' issue like "hide icons" that would just make game play simpler and less annoying if it were fixed.

Might be easier with a Buzzard (haven't tried with a Maverick), but the following ledge on the Maze bank allows you to snipe the briefcase-level NPCs (for some unknown reason, causing some of them to shoot it out with each other).

Needless to say, land (and step!) carefully:

The only problem is at the end of the mission, when you respawn... you and your vehicle are separated by a massive, long wall that you can't climb (and a long, annoying walk to get around):
