I really don't see how anyone can claim that Rockstar listened. They simply did not, fact. I don't recall ever seeing or hearing anyone asking for any of these game modes.

 

Did we get a 4th garage, various vehicles un-blacklisted, mansions, the casino, interiors, crew turf wars (or even any crew related content), the stock market, new contact missions, new heists, customisable apartments, dedicated game servers and the ability to sell Pegasus vehicles to name a few worth-while potential additions? No, we got granted a free pass to act like d-bags in Grand Theft Call of Auto Duty Online.

 

Some Rockstar fanboy will no doubt come along and say I'm "moaning for the sake of it". I assure you (not that I give a sh*t) that I'm not. I've invested nearly 2 years into this game and have done a fair bit in, what has until recently (this update), a very active and committed crew. Not a single person I know has said this was a good update and all have raised their eye-brows in disbelief.

 

Then we know very, very different people. I know the guys over on the Damned site aren't happy, but everyone else I know *is* happy. Very happy, in fact.

 

Anyway, turning off the blue coronas was asked for, since day 1. Show me something that was asked for, from day 1, that we didn't get. Not liking the game modes is one thing, but singling this update out as proof that Rockstar don't listen to the community is laughable. Why did no-one say that at any of the other updates? It's because this is the biggest update we've had, other than heists, and so the self-entitled are getting all uppity because the totally free update they just got has a game mode that they don't like.

 

Sorry, but boo-hoo. People complaining about a free massive upgrade just make me shake my head in shame to be the same species.

 

 

 

Sorry but this update is proof absolute that Rockstar have departed from the a very different direction they implied it would take at the start. Now if that departure means you like it and will carry on playing, fair enough. If you havent invested much into what Rockstar implied the game would be about, or spent time or money into it why would you care. It was a fair assumption given the way they marketed the game that it would bring the great elements first seen in RDR MP and GTA4 MP and build on that for GTA:O. They didnt, they turned it toward catering for the very type of gamer they invented Bad Sport for.

It's the topic at hand - it's a discussion like all the other threads in the forum, or it would have been locked after the first post. Feel free to discuss it though, as I am doing by pointing out the fact that Rockstar do indeed listen to their players, as they have proven in the past. Was the word 'incontrovertibly' too big for you? It means it's impossible to dispute.

Bruh you arent settling anything or pointing out how "wrong" nobody is. Its about them not listening as far as what "activities" to put in freemode. Stuff like changes to the interactive menu are not included in this argument as this thread isnt about that type of stuff. Its about the "events" we recieved which shouldve been clear by all the "activity" examples given. None of the stuff we got was requested by us. Case in point, drug dealing was a huge request yet they ignore that and give us Hunt the Beast which was purely made up on the fly in their office. If you cant see this is not listening then arguing with you is pointless.

I'll post what I like, but thanks for giving me feedback. Rockstar have proven in the past that they listen to us - fact, not opinion. Just because they release an update that is not 100% what some members of this forum wanted, all of a sudden people are incorrectly stating that they don't listen to us. I am simply correcting that mistake.

 

Incidentally, I love how you tell me I'm stating my opinion as fact, and then go on to do exactly that!

 

 

The stuff we got is not in the theme of the game

 

 

Those two are just whining as they have done since the update came out (or the game, in the case of one of them). What they're saying is wrong, and that's not an opinion.

Okay, we had a conversation on the Queens of Drama website, in the chat window, you, me and some other members (probably including am30). That conversation, albeit a while ago, was about the fact that Rockstar had made a change in the 1.10 update that had affected motorbike physics. The stunting community got together and as one asked that it be changed back to how it previously was. You know this - you had this conversation with me.

 

The next update, 1.11, fixed the issue and the motorbike physics were back exactly as they previously had been.

 

There have been 2 other occasions where similar things happened and Rockstar fixed issues because a large proportion of the community asked for it.

 

You're saying they don't listen. They do.

You are on to something. Instead of banging on a drum about R* not caring, which in my opinion they do. It's come time to realize that the game has lost it's shine for me as well. There are certain things I have wanted, but I'm not the core audience of this game so it'll never come to pass. I've wanted new missions, new heists and playable content at reasonable intervals. That would get me interested again. Many of the DLCs have been cars, guns and clothes. Nice, but ultimately they don't add much to the long term of the game. I'd go for paid DLC model if they ever offered it so I get on regular intervals new missions, heists and other playable content. In my opinion, the shark card microtransaction model has allowed R* to be somewhat lazy.

 

No need to complain about it though. It just is. R* is catering to their target audience and barring unforseen dramatic changes will continue evolve GTA online along those lines.

 

RE: Do R* listen? Yes. Do they have to make changes because voices in the community say so? No. They have though made changes due to community input. People complained about players in passive in high priority vehicles that couldn't be killed. R* killed that. You get in, you lose passive now. Remember flying a Buzzard in passive with a passenger not in passive who was able to fire the chopper's guns? That got fixed too due to community complaints. Rather than be unhappy R* doesn't implement some popular ideas, take a step back and look at how R* has approached online. Look at the history. They have their own plan and target much of the game around their core audience. We can complain, but in the end it changes nothing.

 

If the game loses it's shine, always new games coming out. Wait until the next DLC and plop GTA 5 back in for an hour and then lose interest again.

 

We can't be so entitled to think that just because we propose it, that R* has to do it.

 

 

I love driving my cars around for about 5 mins and then I'm done.
Finally got Fifa 16 so I'm good now
I think it is time for myself and like minded others to let go and accept this game is no longer for us at all and leave it to the people that are still enjoying it.
My concern is what will they do with gta 6?

 

It can be. Met some awesome folks here, but just like the general GTA population there are lots of unsavory types who shoot you in the back unprovoked or enjoy trolling. Just like in the game, got to filter the people you don't like out.

Yes, a lot of suggestions - that's correct. It's also correct that it's about them listening to the wider community, as they did in the examples I cited.

 

You say, "Whoop-de-do they altered the bike mechanics" - yes they did. Just because you have zero interest in the thing that was changed does not alter the fact that the community asked Rockstar to do something and they pretty much immediately did.

 

Rockstar *are* listening to their players, as shown in the past and outlined by me in previous posts. Are you now saying that that didn't happen? The examples given are fabrication? No, you can't say that, which means you cannot dispute the fact that Rockstar have shown that they DO listen to the community, when the community stands together.

 

If you want to blame Rockstar for the fragmentation of the community then you do that, but you ARE wrong.

 

And so you know, this forum is not representative of the GTA community as a whole. Do yourself a favour - take your blinkers off and look elsewhere.

I can easily explain why but didnt think I needed to. A strawman argument is using another argument to try and win a different one. I said they didnt listen as far as what "activities" to add to freemode. Instead of proving this false by stating which events we recieved were requested by the community you run to things which arent freemode "event" related such as interactive menu changes as your argument that R* did listen about freemode activities. Yes they listen to the type of stuff some have mentioned but again thats not what this thread is about and this is your problem. You call yourself correcting ppl but its clear who needs correcting. The only thing that can save your "they do listen" argument (in referrence to this thread) is for you to prove the events we recieved were requested by the community. Dont worry we'll wait.
