I'm just going to say something here. How can he be ungrateful? This update doesn't help him in any possible way? (I am assuming) Being ungrateful is wanting something and not showing proper gratitude for receiving it. He may have never wanted this update nor anything that was in it. I feel as the definition of "ungrateful" has been twisted to act as a cop-out for ignorance

it's a computer game, it's not supposed to 'help' him. it's supposed to entertain him............. which it does........... because he keeps f*cking playing. so even if it hasn't helped him, it hasn't hindered him either.

Yes, I am. It's actually pretty neat. Although the Events are chosen at random and end up being ones I've played around two or three times before, they've added a much and long needed breath of fresh air to Free Mode, and the Editor gives my photography and car shoots new life. This is honestly, in my opinion, the best and one of the most needed updates to have ever come to GTA Online.

Tbh I thought the same as the thread title but for a specific reason rather than a general reason...that's what I assumed the OP meant...that freeroam thread that was full of great ideas...they ignored it completely...in context they announce new freeroam activities with no additional info and I thought this perhaps meant they would implement a few of the communities ideas rather than none whatsoever and instead pull some polarising random sh*t out of their arse...I work with 500 colleagues and talk with a large number of them about gaming and within my work everyone just says how much they hate this and nobody plays anymore and we're all excited for fallout 4.

The fact that the game is 2 years old and many of the player base have been playing it that long is obviously gonna have an effect on the number of active players. There are games coming up that will stop me playing, albeing only for a while. Anyway, you can now completely customise what is shown on the map, the mini-map and in the game. That's the biggest thing the whole community has been asking for, in terms of consistently wanting it, and it came with this update.

 

I see a lot of moaners on this forum, that are moaning for the sake of it, because they like it. A lot of people moaning in this thread would be moaning no matter what Rockstar had done. I just wanted to balance that out by saying that every single person I've spoken to whilst online says that they love this update and it is without doubt the best yet.

 

I'm not saying that people who don't like it are wrong, but it is only fair to point out that Rockstar did indeed listen to us. Just because someone can post something they asked for that we didn't get, that doesn't mean we weren't listened to. They would have had many thousands of requests from people that take time to actually make them, and they can only carry out a very small percentage of those requests.

 

This thread is biased towards the negative, but then I shouldn't expect anything different from this forum.

 

Incidentally, you too are on my "liked" list. We don't always see eye-to-eye but neither of us are thick enough to think that makes a difference

I'm not calling anyone uppity - I never said that at all. I did say self-entitled though, and anyone complaining about a free update *is* self-entitled. Also, I'm not on any high horse - mine, yours or anyone else's. We disagree - that doesn't mean I'm on a high horse. Your attitude, though, is the same as most other people complaining about this update. You cite giving us game modes that we didn't ask for as proof that Rockstar hasn't given us anything we asked for. If you can't see how bad that logic is (and I use that term very, very loosely) then you can't be helped and you'll feel like this towards every update. Not asking for something we're given is not the same as not being given what we asked for.

 

Oh yeah, passive mode in vehicles is now on the map, as well as the directional pointer (that used to be there anyway).

 

Why did no-one moan about not getting what they asked for with any of the other updates? This is nonsensical blathering by a bunch of negative idiots who can't accept free updates because it's not what THEY wanted. Well it is what I wanted, so it's your problem, not mine.

Sorry but this update is proof absolute that Rockstar have departed from the a very different direction they implied it would take at the start. Now if that departure means you like it and will carry on playing, fair enough. If you havent invested much into what Rockstar implied the game would be about, or spent time or money into it why would you care. It was a fair assumption given the way they marketed the game that it would bring the great elements first seen in RDR MP and GTA4 MP and build on that for GTA:O. They didnt, they turned it toward catering for the very type of gamer they invented Bad Sport for.

Not asking for something we're given is not the same as not being given what we asked for.

 

Oh yeah, passive mode in vehicles is now on the map, as well as the directional pointer (that used to be there anyway).

 

Why did no-one moan about not getting what they asked for with any of the other updates? This is nonsensical blathering by a bunch of negative idiots who can't accept free updates because it's not what THEY wanted. Well it is what I wanted, so it's your problem, not mine.

This update really was the final nail in the coffin. You can't in all seriousness claim that features like the directional pointer and passive mode (sometimes) showing for players in vehicles is a step forward. This is something last gen had since day 1 and should have been on the current gen version since cg release!

 

But yeah, not liking this update makes me a "negative idiot". Well excuse me (and others) for having the sheer audacity to hold a different opinion to yourself. Tell you what, why don't you just tell us all what to say next time and we'll say it. Save you the bother of having to disagree and get upset. Never realised you were such a delicate flower.

 

People have moaned and felt let down in some way by every single update. For me, the difference here is that it's nearly 2 years down the line, the game has gotten stale, there is nothing to do other than run around free-mode killing other players (which gets boring as hell pretty quickly). The last update gave the player nothing tangible and nothing to work towards. Sure the Editor is cool but it should have been released earlier. I honestly played for an hour 2 nights ago, got depressed and went and played Destiny for the rest of the night.

 

Man all you guys do is complain,

What other company has given out FREE updates for two years now and continues to support their game.

You need to play San Andreas/GTA IV.

This is GTA V, and this update is very fitting for the new GTA style.

I'd like to know what game these guys think is superior to GTA that is implied by all the whining and complaining.

I really don't see how anyone can claim that Rockstar listened. They simply did not, fact. I don't recall ever seeing or hearing anyone asking for any of these game modes.

 

Did we get a 4th garage, various vehicles un-blacklisted, mansions, the casino, interiors, crew turf wars (or even any crew related content), the stock market, new contact missions, new heists, customisable apartments, dedicated game servers and the ability to sell Pegasus vehicles to name a few worth-while potential additions? No, we got granted a free pass to act like d-bags in Grand Theft Call of Auto Duty Online.

 

Some Rockstar fanboy will no doubt come along and say I'm "moaning for the sake of it". I assure you (not that I give a sh*t) that I'm not. I've invested nearly 2 years into this game and have done a fair bit in, what has until recently (this update), a very active and committed crew. Not a single person I know has said this was a good update and all have raised their eye-brows in disbelief.

 

Then we know very, very different people. I know the guys over on the Damned site aren't happy, but everyone else I know *is* happy. Very happy, in fact.

 

Anyway, turning off the blue coronas was asked for, since day 1. Show me something that was asked for, from day 1, that we didn't get. Not liking the game modes is one thing, but singling this update out as proof that Rockstar don't listen to the community is laughable. Why did no-one say that at any of the other updates? It's because this is the biggest update we've had, other than heists, and so the self-entitled are getting all uppity because the totally free update they just got has a game mode that they don't like.

 

Sorry, but boo-hoo. People complaining about a free massive upgrade just make me shake my head in shame to be the same species.

 

Sorry but this update is proof absolute that Rockstar have departed from the a very different direction they implied it would take at the start. Now if that departure means you like it and will carry on playing, fair enough. If you havent invested much into what Rockstar implied the game would be about, or spent time or money into it why would you care. It was a fair assumption given the way they marketed the game that it would bring the great elements first seen in RDR MP and GTA4 MP and build on that for GTA:O. They didnt, they turned it toward catering for the very type of gamer they invented Bad Sport for.

 

 

It is proof of nothing. Seriously, the negativity from you and am30 is childish beyond belief. I've seen a different side of you 2 since this update came out and quite frankly I'm glad. I can see why all the people you moan about on your own site don't like you guys now. I'm done with you two as you're nothing but negative and poisonous.
