Honestly, for parachuting and air checkpoints style events, should be invincible and not be able to use weapons a la penned in. Tired of trying to do parachuting or something of the like and someone feels the need to be a dbag in a lazer/hydra. You should be prompted to click a button if you want to participate in these events and then you're good to go.

 

Honestly, next person do it is getting kicked. Tired of jet griefers - such a pointless waste of time and in-game money, all so your K/D ratio goes up.

They made out like it would be a criminal career progression online experience and they made a huge deal out of crews in the beginning also. Heist was the kind of update GTA was supposed to be about, and even they didn't have the depth promised or reach the potential they should have. Rather than maturing into a rich online experience its descended into a series of updates clearly aimed at the types of player Rockstar originally created badsport lobbies for!!..The gamemodes are literally cash eaters for the people who get involved and try and play them and complete troll bait delight for the griefers. I suppose that makes money (keshkerds) and keeps the underage audience they appear to have started catering to happy.

 

I believe the first huge bad turn they made was not rank locking the DLC weapons and military vehicles and services, plus not having rank unlocks well past 120 with weapons etc only rank unlock would allow. My best guess is they didn't expect the type of rampant glitching and hacking that occurred on old gen, which sent the entire gtao progression and economy into meltdown and ultimate destruction of the idea of criminal empire building. Feels like they just went `f*ck it`! lets just dish out the yoloswag and throwaway game-modes, its f*cked anyway.

 

I still held out hope they would get the balance right and start catering toward the audience who wanted more of a criminal rpg style game which the gta SP games have always been about. ...Maybe is a future GTAO overhaul or the next version of online?....

i hate it...oh well only another age to wait for content I actually am interested in...i doubt it will drop before fallout 4 so I'll be playing a more interesting game by then.

Let's see if gta 6 is an adult game actually made for adults rather than children.

Maybe rdrs next game will be the better gaming experience?

I hate pvp Freeroam so much, the editor just doesn't interest me as the rather basic things I would want to do are not possible.

People killing each other isnt childish, you're not mature because you want to drive your car around and shop for clothes instead.

You need to drop the whole 'more mature' attitude because it doesnt suit you, you just look like an ass

 

Its a sandbox game, people can play how they want, anyway, last time i checked, killing classes as more mature content than spending 20 minutes deciding on which scarf to wear.

it took you till level 442 to conclude it was a childs game? or did you think that before and carry on playing anyway?Urm I've gone through spells of compulsively wanting to grind to buy cars/mod them etc and also just saving to buy stuff I might want in the future...increasingly I am hearing very young voices in Freeroam of late and am meeting less cool people than I used to...I enjoyed mastering heists but that's dead now really having grinded so much.

I and many others are more than capable of holding our own in Freeroam but just don't care as it offers no progression...it's pointless and imho the bastion of people who need to beat other people to enjoy a game regardless of how it is achieved.

I have 35m now with nothing to spend it on and no space

I am level 457 and 150 lol

Well its two day into latest update but two years into the game. As you know furry I have a good little , close crew and we are sitting waiting for some crew related content or at least some decent multiplayer/coop gameplay (like Heists). All we are getting is hideous crap (ILL GOTTEN) and throw away junk food game modes which do nothing other than lag out servers even more and attract uber griefing. Sorry but whats to like? I see nothing but trash and disappointed more than anything else. I think the game deserves better and was hoping we would get the kinds of thing we've all been asking for like crew elements, Casino, Mansions, more garage space, more new contact missions, map extension. Yes they might come at some point, but I don't think there is any coming back for freeroam activities post Hunt the Beast.

I honestly don't understand what you're saying. If you all got in a crew only session then these new free roam activities could be awesome! They're a ton of fun (for lots of people) even with the trolls flying round in Hydras trying to spoil everything, but you have the advantage of having enough people to play these new games with, without having to deal with that.

 

I'm just surprised by your reaction to this update, I guess. You know I'm not trying to call you out or start something - we both know better than that. I'm just surprised by your obvious vehemence. Personally, I can't think of an update that's come even close to this one for both substance and quality, but we obviously just want different things out of it.

Fair enough. We see it completely differently, but that's life. It took Rockstar over a year longer than they first said to get heists to us. I think if you're waiting for that kind of update to come again then you're gonna be waiting a long, long time! I'm still tempted with Destiny, but I bought Battlefield Hardline for my shooter lust. That's awesome, but sci-fi does it for me so it's still itching away at the back of my head. Ah well, only 60 days and I'll have my sci-fi fix that I've been waiting 10 years for. I can't wait to kill me some Luke Skywalker!

fair explanation, though i think what you hear may have other reasons and not just be R* making it a kids game, all games always lose players eventually(even those who think SA is/was the best, play this instead of that). maybe it's the same number of kids but less adults so it seems more kids.

sounds like your burning yourself out on this game though. take a months break and come back to it later, theres nothing that says you have to play it continuously.

I have seen a lot of people requesting new contact missions(and Heists but those were confirmed to NOT release anymore in the future),

So what would you think of the idea to do Contact missions in Free Roam?

I mean like you go Gerald or call Gerald, and he asks you to destroy a covoy of ballas with Meth.

I mean with the power of Next Gen this is easily possible, but would the ones requesting this stuff also get along with it?

Or do you prefer a seperate lobby to do contact missions.

I'm... very close to (nearly) done. It's down to me playing a couple of hours a week now, which is about 1% of what it was a few months ago and 5% of what it was a few weeks ago.

This update does nothing to alleviate the burn-out. Nothing new or innovative. Says to me (and others I know) that Rockstar do not know where to go with GTA O. Running around free-mode going "hurr-durr" gets boring real quick, even if you're winning, but that's all they seem to care about. That and yoloswag bullcrap. Nothing of real substance.

Tbh I travel a lot with my other half and was away for two weeks in Israel so hadn't played but had seen on here regarding the update...it was so underwhelming to me...maybe rockstar doesn't want people to play my way I don't know but I see so much untapped potential...I started playing again during double money humane labs after stopping when they brought out that ridiculous gold plane...all on the premise that I must save for whatever cool stuff they bring out...and a place to store it...hasn't happened.

I will definitely take a break.
