If you mean R* stopping to release Updates for XBOX360 and PS3, yes its true, however Next Gen will be getting a lot of "big" Updates like Free Roam events and Apartment customization in the future. Fuzzknuckles Posted September 14, 2015 Share Posted September 14, 2015 I think it's a smart move on their part. Sure, there's a massive audience on PS3 and 360 but that generation has ended. The game is two years old on that platform. Any efforts to support the old generation mean a poorer experience for the new generation due to having to make it work on old hardware. Sorry, old generation, I love you all very much, but this is the way it has to be. You had two years of GTA V - one year of that was before anyone else got it, and in that year you had free content every month. You honestly can't expect them to carry on supporting your platforms when the platform is past it's best years, Octavio89 and theGTAking101 2 Signatures are dumb anyway. R* confirmed that new Heists won't be released on ANY console since it was too much work, than they initially thought. I think a lot of people just don't want to accept it. I think it's a real shame that they can't support every platform forever, but it's just completely impossible now. R* said it themselves: "We have continued to optimize the entire game over time in order to squeeze as much memory as we possibly could out of the last-generation hardware and at some point, continuing to add content for those systems could cause the risk of instability to the game overall."
