Rockstar says no more updates for 360 and PS3 versions

Just to contribute something on-topic in here.

 

I think you should be happy that V even released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

What in tarnation, are you serious? Be realistic, you were here when everybody was hyped right? They wouldn't of delayed V again and released them a year later, people would be so pissed off that the sales would've sucked.

 

And we're lucky? The game launched on last-gen consoles and they handled it. My console hasn't f%cked up. I don't know what you're trying to start but it ain't working.

 

 

Not trying to start anything here at all, that is just the way i think about it.

 

I'm not a console gamer so i don't know how well it run on them, and yes i was here while the hype was going on.

 

But to be really honest, i lost all kind of hype a year after the first trailer, maybe it was just me, but i totally lost it.

 

What i was trying to say was, R* could have just announced the first trailer a year later, wait another year, than introduce V for current-gen, leaving out last-gen at all.

 

It would have boosted current-gen sales during that time, that is why i said you last-gen console guys should be happy it even released.

 

EDIT: Why R* would benefit from releasing it on current-gen only and first ? Not having to re-work the whole game for new platforms, optimize it again, plus i think R* would have taken the same amount of money for first time current-gen as it was for first-time last-gen.

And actually, we PC gamers had to wait for a very long time to even get our hands on V, it was totally worth the wait, and i had no problem waiting.

Exactly. Everyone knew the game would be released on both gens. You'd be crazy not to. The question everyone had to answer was if it was worth it. To me it was, to some it wasn't. I double dipped and was glad to do so. I've got more for my $120 spent on GTA V in the last couple years than the $60 I spent in most other games. It was worth it. But they would have been blasted if they waited to current gen for release. Everyone would have been pissed.

This. I've already wrote in a previous message I am only interested in GTA games at this point in my life and NOTHING else interests me, tbh. So there truly is no point in wasting money on a Console which can't even play ANY GTA's other than V. Seriously, all you need is the Backward Compatible PS3 for all your GTA Gaming. Afterall, it can play GTA I, GTA II, GTA III, VC, SA, LCS, VCS, IV, TLaD, TBoGT, and V, which is 11 GTA's out of 13 in the whole Series. It can't play Advance and Chinatown Wars and that's it. If you're into GTA, what System can be better to play on other than PC, which STILL DOES NOT have that many GTA's playable, unless you emulate LCS/VCS/CW and such using PPSSPP? So I really don't see any reason to update and like Scaglietti has said, gaming in general isn't really all that great anymore and is getting boring. So I will stick to the System in which plays all the classics and more importantly 85% of the entire Series...

@BisP, I play on PS3 1.0 all the time, actually, and I can agree. I don't even think you can downgrade on 360, but I could be wrong, and I am almost positive you can't do it on PS4/One, either. Perhaps on PC, though. But anyways, when I want to use some new Toys like the Heist Vehicles (Save Editor in Single Player) I update to the latest Patch on PS3, but I always revert back to 1.0 cuz it literally is the best. There is only one thing wrong with 1.0 and that is the Safehouse Garages deleting Vehicles, but since I played my entire playthrough on 1.0 to 100%, I actually figured out the cause of why and how that happens and know how to avoid it. So 1.0 is flawless, in my case.

 

Furthermore, every GTA included bugs, but back then, you lived with the bugs, and learned how to work around them and figured out what caused them. That's what I have done in V, as well, and overcame some of the bugs by learning work arounds. Other people rather wait for a Patch to MAYBE fix something and at that rate, something else goes broken in the process. It's been happening since the start of Patches for V. Strangely enough, IV has had 8 Patches since 2008 and NONE OF THEM f*cked up another aspect in the game. V has had, what? near 30? Still tons of problems.

The issue doesn't matter for CG or PC players as they don't even have the true 1.0 version of the game.

I kind of feel this way too. And all people can back them up with is "It's a good business decision" like I give a f*ck. Do you think I care how rich a company is getting? I don't even want to have to think about that, I just want to enjoy the game at it's fullest potential. I don't want to play something that feels like it was made to be good to a certain extent. The same way I don't want any products that I buy to feel like they were limited to be just that good.

here here, I hated the fact that when I bought an entire ps3 for the damn game, I essentially made an investment on the inferior version, thank god MGSV was on ps3, or else the system would've been useless for me.

Also their support is just pure crap. I commented on their Social Club newswire post and made sure to be as polite as possible when I spoke on regards of the end of last-gen updates. It got a few comments and then disappeared. I had to make a post, being painfully polite again, explaining that there was nothing wrong with it. They deleted that post and brought back my originial post without it's responses.

 

Who do they have working in the support department? A couple of minimum wage broke ass brokes with no lives? God they suck.

For me, it's the mounting anger at them over the course of the year. They wasted SO much time on bullsh*t, constantly releasing their microtransaction bait while completely ignoring the community in every way imaginable.

 

Suggest something simple to make the game better, it MIGHT get fixed; Do something that affects the economy, sh*t gets patched with the quickness.

 

We sat for a nearly year, starved for content in both SP and Online, and all we got was more overpriced sh*t to grind for, sh*tty broken modes nobody plays, patches that further broke or restricted the gameplay, and total neglect for the barebones Single Player.

 

But yeah, at least we got a dozen or so "free DLCs" that saturated the game with Super cars, useless guns, more useless modes, reskinned t-shirts, and patches that broke other patches.
