Looks like no more updates for last gen

I bet 90% of kids ITT telling people to just buy a new gen console had their mommies and daddies buy them one.

 

Some of us have bills to pay, we can't afford to shell out 400 bucks.

Some adults have extra cash.

Some do, even fewer dont rub people's faces in it just because they have something better...

Unlike most here that i see posting all happy that last gen got left behind.

Why does last gen matter so much to you if you already upgraded?

I'm getting a ps4 in October, and when i do i dont think i will feel the need to come here and wag it in last gen's face...

I'm on PS3, only game I play is GTA. Can't justify £350+ for just one game when I have mortgage, utilities, a wife, a dog, 3 cars etc that all need funding.

 

Am I disappointed GTA will no longer be supported? Yes, of course. Am I surprised? Not at all.

 

It was bound to happen sooner or later and think 2 years of free updates is fair. I'll still enjoy what GTA has got until the servers empty or get turned off. I'm not bothered enough by the trinkets and tassles GTA on CG has to fork out the money. GTA LG is dead. Long live GTA.

I'm glad I upgraded when I did. It was back in March, I wanted to be on current gen before heists were released so I could have the best experience. That and the fact I really wanted to use the improved character creator

Well this turned into a platform war rather quickly. I can already see the empty lobbys and the last gen players roaming around their pink/chrome T20's wondering where everybody went.

The final LG update should remove all freeroam peds and replace all cars in traffic with tumbleweeds.

Sad time but it's true how very limited the contents can hold out but it's look very good for 2 years in GTA: Online for old generation console able to play out like this. It's been fun...

I'll be honest from personal experience, each update was more harsh on my PS3 up until I got to the point I had no choice but to transfer to ps4 if I wanted to continue playing. I froze more and more to the point some days my game was unplayable and doing recovery mode was so redundant. It was so bad, I literally thought I would be headed to bad sport because of all the jobs I froze on. Like a hillbilly, I put my PS3 in the middle of the room with ice packs on it so it wouldn't overheat by walls. Personally, I put many years on my PS3 and it was just done for. Now I'm not saying this will be everyone's fate if updates continue, but this is my experience and I watched it get uncontrollably worse, literally each update.

 

So in a way, I can respect and understand R* logic with this.. Might be the only time I say that lolz.

Yep I know. I had a friend who show me completely on Xbox One which I was interested in and that's why I am already planned getting next generation and so takes time get it ready. For $349 Xbox One sounds good enough for me including for Gears of War.

 

For sure that GTA's PS3 and Xbox 360 servers still going which gives me more time and get them transfer my characters before old generation may planning shut down in future.

He literally said, only the disk size and their memory is the limit. Or HDD memory in case of DLC. The PS3 got about the same disk/hdd capability as the PS4. There were no words about RAM. And the RAM has nothing to with 'can't get more usual DLC as cars/clothes' They could add a unlimited amount of cars, or atleast more than Gran Turismo does, as long it all fits on the HDD.

You obviously miss, or choose to ignore, the point. The point is, we paid for the game, $60, a year or so ago, and now we're being told to "upgrade and buy another copy at full price to get continued support." C'mon, give me a break. We all know that there are some inherent software to hardware limitations but their previous actions bely the sincerity of that point. E.g. they had to put in the gold luxor/swift/etc a few months ago, because we all wanted those items so desperately and now there's not room for a fourth garage or a few more cars? It simply smacks of them being disingenuous.

 

I probably will put out for a new system after Xmas, but I guarantee I won't buy GTA V again for that new hardware...

HDD isn't memory it's storage. If anyone thinks HDD is memory then they're sadly mistaken (unless it's virtual memory but enjoy waiting a few seconds for that building to load up you just passed by). RAM is memory, as in random access 'memory'.

Last November I bought the gta v and last of us ps4 bundle....that was the prime time to upgrade because I got the system and games for what the ps4 usually cost by itself. And I want even looking to upgrade at the time, I just walked past it and said I might as well get while I'm here.

It's a shame, but it makes sense because Last-gen has been around for 10 years. But look at the bright side, at least there will be no more squeakers (There will be some rich kids who already got it or the ones who beg.) The only problem is that R* is forcing you to get Next-Gen if you want to play the newest updates. I have Next-gen but I don't want to pay 60 bucks again for the same exact game.. Like come on, at least make it backwards compatibility for GTA 5 so I don't have to waste another 60 bucks..

 

Besides the problems, I think the new updates are going to be amazing, probably more detailed cars, and places. Wait until the casino comes out, it'll be amazing. Don't forget that there's no more modders.. It's a new generation, but Last-gen won't get to see it all anymore..

Last year I think the price dropped by a $100 dollars in the Black Friday deals. I bet another huge price drop is coming for these holidays no doubt. Anyway, last gen debuted at around what, $450 give or take? I remember waiting for a year and I picked up the PS3 with GTA4 for about 300. If you are patient you will be rewarded. Plus, waiting for the GOTY editions of games is a good move too. I picked up only a few games brand new if I just had to play it on release over the last few years. It's tough but it pays to wait it out. I bought the PS4 with a $400 price tag plus GTAV and Last of us included during last year's sales. If I waited until this year I think I would definitely pick up the Batman bundle PS4. Anyway the prices will still continue to drop at time goes on, but many developers are already moving to the new consoles exclusively. It's only a matter of time.
