Swooshboy and Retroview...you both; like some of the others are missing the point. Severely. Those "free" little updates/dlc's were just used as a way to increase the longetivity of LG Gta Sales. The IGG, heists, etc had our best intentions at heart. Face it, the GTA debut trailer represented NG look of the game, not LG. The game was obviously designed for NG. Problem was that NG didnt exist during V's development.

 

R* had only one choice. To continue finishing the game and in order to make a sh!t ton of money, they re-released it after pumping so much life into LG for more sales and cash cards. The NG console release was so damn convenient for them. Swoosh and Retro, you were missing the reason. You had the what. You did not have the why. They saw the opportunity and took it. It wouldve been a smart move to wait for NG console release instead but I guess they really wanted to produce GTA V to be ready for 2013. They took the greed path. Not the ethical/moral path.

 

FYI, retro, what rock are you living under? R* clearly mentioned a SP DLC and heists before and during the release of LG GTA V. All of which was before NG release. The heists release was a technical problem...so thats justified. The SP DLC delay is greedy mothereffer problem. More money can come from the online version of the game.

It was always going to happen, lets not forget this game was brought out abut two years ago and since then the new gen consoles have been brought out.

 

I am still stuck on PS3 and will be for the forseeable future until I can afford a PS4 (plus the games/pads etc).

 

When I do get it I will still buy GTA V, for the better graphics/first person mode and play it all over again....and online, I wanna see what being in a lobby of 29 other nutcases is like!!

I don't get why you think they are handling this poorly. They have been hinting this ever since December 2014 dude, they warned us over half a year ago that at some point last gen consoles will hit the limit.

 

Last gen was lucky as hell that R* didn't cut the IGG updates.

They handled it poorly. Period. They suck at communicating, what part of that don't you understand? They need to be straightforward otherwise shut up and accept the hate.

 

And no, we're not lucky we got it, they're lucky they gave it to us otherwise they would've been in for a world of hurt. Lucky my ass. A few vehicles, clothes, and guns isn't sh*t.

As I've said before, all yesterday showed was how complete and utter crap this fanbase was. The way people communicate and disagree with each other is just sad. Story Mode DLC doesn't need to be added as add-on. It can be standalone too for PS3/360.

 

I myself prefer to have it standalone and on disc even though I've got a PS4 now.

All today has shown is just how terrible this fanbase is. I'm just speaking in general. I honestly don't know what's gotten into us but it's horrible.

I'm talking about the way people here act. First there's the bitch-no-matter-what-we-get people and then there's the fans who get very nasty with you if you say anything. For instance, today was a mess, last-gen players found out their game was done, and started bitching. The bitching was understandable but some got a little bit stupid and said current-gen shouldn't get extra content. Typical stupidity, nothing new. What got me were the fans. Telling people they were retarded if they were angry about the news, that they're broke asses if they can't upgrade, I don't even want to list it all. Hell, I'm almost feeling like I'm just done with the internet gaming wise. Everywhere is like that but this place used to feel like a community, now it's just your typical fan/hater sh*thole and everybody has the grossest most stuck up attitude.

 

I feel like I'm just done with V, it's fans, and it's sections.

What do you expect from a community that it's mostly based on 12 year-olds and 40 year-old no lifers?

 

Of course, yeah, I'm kinda upset because I was expecting something for us to say "Thank you for your support during our first year, now unfortunately we will start decreasing the content in these updates because the memory of your consoles can't handle it as opposed to that of CG consoles/PC. We will patiently wait you to upgrade, but bear in mind that we will have to stop updating sometime." instead of "Hey, here's two watered down updates for you to enjoy, now either buy a CG console/PC or die, you peasants."

 

See the difference? First one is kinda polite for a company. It will keep most customers happy while letting them fully develop their creativity on more powerful systems by SLOWLY decreasing the amount of content that LG would receive when compared to that of the enhanced versions.

 

What we got is just a small decrease in content (no cigars/champagne in both Deluxe aircrafts, no engraved camos, etc.) and suddenly a full stop. This is what makes me and a lot of people complain. I have said it already thousands of times today: why couldn't they just wait until Christmas to stop supporting LG? By that time, a lot more people that really want to play GTA would have a CG console or a PC, and also IIRC Xbox Live servers for the 360 are shutting down soon in 2016 (I wouldn't even be surprised if they had shut them down earlier, seeing how much they've cared about them in the last months) so this should be an incentive for most of the Online community for the Xbox 360, including me.

 

But what I really don't understand is the hate. This feels like as if we were in school, the teacher would be R*, the students would be CG and PC users, and that guy who always arrives late would be us LG users. The students that arrive on time will obviously be pissed off because we're not letting the teacher, well, teach us the whole lesson. But all those students are either taken to school by their parents or they actually have their own car. But what about the student who always arrives late? Have you ever thought about the problems that he may have? Maybe his parents can't take him to school because they have something more important to do and the kid just has to go by foot, or maybe he doesn't feel the need to go by car to arrive on time and wouldn't actually mind missing some things, since he could catch up later.

 

See what I mean? We're getting sh*t thrown at us for supposedly not letting R* "fully develop their creativity", yet most of us can't afford a CG system, let alone a gaming PC. Yeah, it's easy to say "then do a budget and save money to buy one, but don't come here and bitch", but is it actually easy to do? I myself don't have a job right now, because basically, well, Spain is a bad place to find a job right now and my family wants me to get a job that I would like to work on, not something that I would regret for the rest of my life. In the meantime, they're giving me some money, which I've been saving for a while now, and if everything goes well, I might buy a PS4 on Christmas. But there's these people who have bills to pay, a family to feed, etc. And even though I'm a lucky guy and I don't have to deal with that stuff yet, I understand that getting home to get some rest by playing the game you like only to see that it has been left behind by developers while your neighbor's child is playing the same game on a CG console that was bought by his parents is quite frustrating.

 

I really hoped that this community was just filled with FR killing trolls, but now I've really seen the dark side of it. People are literally forgetting about respect to each others and insulting people that they used to play with not long ago. This is what wars are like, fighting someone you used to call "brother", "father" or even "mother" just because they don't share the same opinion as you do.

 

I hope that this long ass post really makes everyone re-think what they have to say before someone gets really hurt. Yeah, there are ways to complain about something, but please, don't disrespect anyone that just wants to enjoy the same game as you do.

I'm glad they bought it out for PS3 as I had over a year of playing it on that console. I enjoyed it so much that I was happy to buy it again when I bought a PS4.

 

But even if I hadn't bought a PS4, I would have rather played GTA V on the PS3, than not played it at all.

No, they can't. This is what you're having a difficult understanding.

 

"Freeroam" is nothing more than a mission lobby, and the console's resource pool is filled trying to run 16 players, their vehicles, the NPC AI, the background, and the massive enviroment they gave you to play including the current freeroam games (assassin jobs, bank trucks, police distracts, etc).

 

That's an enormous amount of data, and a dazzling amount of programming for a 2005 era console and 16 players. You're angry at Rockstar for finally saying "no more" after they managed to push the limits of your hardware to the absolutely breaking point. You should be thankful that this runs at all, even more so when you consider that your console has to handle not only all of that but do it with upto 16 players with a network stack.

 

Furthermore, they're not turning off the last gen support. You simply don't get 3 additional free roam activities because the freeroam resource pool for you is empty.

It's definitely a shame for the last-gen systems, but keep in mind they where on the front line for when this game first came out, taking the brute force from the various bugs and glitches that plagued the game months on end, but they survived and set foundations in place for a game that needed to move onto another system to survive, and without them the current gen might have been complete chaos.

 

Just remember that those last-gen systems & Rockstar are giving it all they've got to keep the ones still waiting a chance to have fun on the game they love for just a bit longer, and when they finally give out they will be remembered for giving this great game the help it needed to become even better.

 

I'm sure Rockstar would love to give all the systems the chance to have same stuff but in the end there has to be sacrifice, and I hope they'll do something exclusive for last-gen just to say thank you one last time.
