Do you guys think now that there's an update that adds in freemode events, the OTHER freemode events will actually work again?

 

The stupid armored trucks have been missing for months it seems. Same with distract the cops, destroy the plane, hell has anyone even assassinated a lester target recently? Or picked up a crate?

 

 

I hope these new events can be triggered manually, because if it's server side, we're not going to be able to play any of them -_-

 

At least give us some clothes R*.

 

I don't give a single f*ck about the freemode events.

I need things to buy,not things to play.

Thats my opinion but I only think like this bc new game modes get boring fast.

Oh God.. someone pull this leech off and stick them in the furnace. This person admits that they don't care about PLAYING the game but only care about buying sh*t... it's people like this that are making developers consider preorder bonuses and stupid season pass shi*

I still get all the freemode activities now. See the thing is they are on a cycle, so if you don't do what is availible, another one won't pop up for a long time. So if you see a High Priority Vehicle, go ahead and do it, and a few minutes later something new will pop up. Armored trucks are much less frequent, but I have gotten them. Hopefully this update will make them pop up more. These new events are not thr same, they can be played at anytime, if thr player feels like it.

 

 

Although I don't agree with that guys tone, I see where he is coming from. The 2x heists have rendered many of us rich with nothing left to buy, it woukd be nice to have something to show for all of that work.

Random events are, from what I understand, on a 48 minute timer. After one is completed, the next one pops up 48 minutes later. This compares to something like 5 minutes during special crate events, so it feels like forever and a day - but they do still come up. They're all on the SAME timer, too, so unless you spend a ton of time in free roam, it's easy to not see certain ones for weeks, just by random chance. Add in the fact that some require a certain number of players to be in the session to even occur, and some also automatically despawn quickly (the armored truck is the worst about this) if no one grabs it right away...

 

Basically, I think the events work fine, they just don't happen often enough. I'd prefer special crate event frequency, but failing that, they could at least pump it up to twice as often. 48 minutes is a long time.

Ah it may have just seemed like when I would do them another would pop up, since I have been doing a lot in freeroam lately. I agree whatever the logic is behind them, they need to be more frequent.

2 questions I have: Firstly IGN says the events are on a 12 min cycle. In another part of the vid they say they played 'hunt the beast' for 30 mins. Do you reckon while 'hunt the beast' was going on for 30mins there was 2 other events that happened elsewhere for the 12min cycle to be in effect or is it once one event ends then the 12min timer starts for the next?

 

Secondly in the event 'criminal damage' I think it's called where you have to do as much damage as possible in the time alloted do you reckon ammo while your playing that event is free or do you reckon we have to use our personal supplies? If it aint defaulted ammo then it could be a very costly pasttime especially if the payout isnt that great.

 

Pretty excited tho for the changes. Bring it on. (Hope they sort out the server issues for the changes tho)

I would hope most people here knows by now that the DLCs dont normally drop until roughly 5-7 am eastern time. Only once did we get it at midnight. Doubt that will happen again.

This was my thinking on both questions but it wasn't clear enough to warrant me not asking. On the ammo front tho I thought it might make sense if they gave/made free ammo for the events. At least they can set the petty payouts I expect will be awarded for these events and justify them. If you have to pay for your ammo either the payout need to justify it or it just ain't gonna be worth playing constantly. I could easily burn thru an awful lot of GTA$ very quickly if I was just trying to cause the most damage around me. It's also open to abuse. PPL with loadsadosh will just spam RPG's etc.

Winning beast could pay 100k for all we know. 15 on 1, 10 objectives, Pegasus vehicles? Plus you only have a random chance of being it each time. So winning could be rare.

Im aware. But some kiddies never get memo, as ive seen them stay up all night for an update, then throw hissy-fits at R* when they dont release the update at 12:00 on the dot.

Sadly, they dont. Wait till midnight on monday, i garentee you there will be kiddies in the newswires comment section saying "cóckstar are liars", "f*ck you cóckstar" , "im never gonna buy your games again, lying cóckstar".

I'm looking forward to this Update coming out. I don't know much I will bother with making videos through the R* Editor, but I am definitely hyped for the Snapmatic integration portion, that's a very nice addition. From what IGN described in their video about having their hands on experience with the new events to be released, I'll give them a go and see what happens from there. It's cool that R* tried to create, through the events, something that suits to each person's own respectable liking, I believe.
