I was worcking on a tool that converts stories mdl file to GTA SA dff one and now I am presenting the first beta here.

Features:

1. corect hirarchy import

2. 100% corect UV map import

3. vehicle features: carcols materials and extras import.

Konwon bugs:

1. sometimes some faces are fliped.

Special thanks:

Leeao for helping with reading mdl geometry data.

How to use:

So here the deskription: you have to start the tool in comandline with "mdltodff.exe input.mdl output.dff" where input.mdl is the path to the mdl file you want to convert and output.dff is the path to the dff file that should contain the output.

A posibly easier solution could be a bat file.

Interesting project, good luck.

Thanks, but fixing the only one known bug could be a problem, however cars and weapons can be converted without problems, only LCS peds have this bug. Also don´t know which other bugs the tool could have.

Yes a bat file is a really good, and at least for me personaly very easy solution, but for the final version of the tool I want to make a GUI to make it even easier.

How to use this seriously?

There's no readme inside the file, I tried dragging .mdl file to the .exe it doesn't work

Is there any command to make it work?

E: It's okay now, I didn't read much of the posts

Maybe You Should Specify What Objects it Doesn't Convert?

For example the pinata_man from VCS the one in the mission of the factory of the Cholos, where they break it and blows up the enitire place, the tool can convert some models, but objects like i sayd up here doesn't, it gives an error, i know the way cloud be 3DMax plugin but i don't know how to export them compatible with blender, but i preferr use the tool... if it gets uptdated :/

I don't know if I'm stupid or what, but i still don't get how to use this god damn tool.

I tried (on cmd and batch):

start mdltodff.exe model.mdl model.dff
start mdltodff.exe -model.mdl -model.dff

start mdltodff.exe C:\whatever\model.mdl C:\whatever\model.dff

start mdltodff.exe -C:\whatever\model.mdl -C:\whatever\model.dff

start mdltodff.exe "C:\whatever\model.mdl" "C:\whatever\model.dff"

start mdltodff.exe -"C:\whatever\model.mdl" -"C:\whatever\model.dff"

Someone can just explain to me how to get this to work?

Thank you.
