I just thought it was a good idea, so post your own helpful nugget of information. I'll start.

GSF Members in back of vans:

Most vans, as well as having two front seats, can carry two people in the back. This makes the Securicar an ideal gang transport/driveby vehicle.

http://imgur.com/RGLFxxw http://i.imgur.com/TtU3mET.png

There is a tunnel, perfect for high wanted level chases, near The Big Ear. Police only come from one entrance so the other can be used as a getaway route.

Tunnel entrance:

Which is here:

Please share your helpful tips and if possible, use screenshots. 😀

I've not tried the mobile version, but in other versions vans are very bad drive-by vehicles. The guys in the back don't shoot, if it had worked that way then the buses would have been the ultimate drive-by vehicles.

Your images are not embedded because you are not using the IMG tag. Like this, just without the extra spaces:

[ img ] direct url to image here [ /img ]

But your images are too big to be posted in full size. You can find the appropriate codes at the host for posting thumbnail versions.

Aside from that, I believe here are existing threads for gameplay hints.

Anyway, I can share a tip. If you have three stars and are attracting Police Mavericks, you can shoot them down without adding more wanted stars. Use a Sniper Rifle and shoot the rotor axle and it falls down from one bullet. Easy way to earn criminal rating points/respect without getting more than 3 stars.

I have always used the chainsaw to saw the doors off the ambulance and taxi before doing the Paramedic and Taxi missions. It saves you a couple of seconds getting the passenger inside your car and you don't run the risk of the passenger falling while opening the door when you start moving.

Also, Angel Pine is the easiest place to do Paramedic missions. All the patients spawn nearby.

Wear neutral clothes while engaged in gang warfare. It might seem cool to go around poppin' Ballas in a full green suit (literal green suit or just green clothes) but that just makes you more prone to being attacked, specially in territories bordering other gang territories. Speaking of, if you don't care about CJ's clothes, it's best to never wear green until you've erradicated the Vagos and Ballas Nevermind this one

Also, before you conquer all gang territories, get a hold of a Tornado, a vehicle that won't spawn anymore (besides Vigilante and other shenanigans) after you conquer all the LSV territories (the ones that are yellow). Not only is it a very good-looking vehicle, it has lots of customization options in the Loco Low. Mod Shop. Preferably get it early in the game and make it FP/EP with the Gray Imports trick

The Gray Imports Trick: Start the mission 'Gray Imports' and take whatever vehicle you want to turn into FP/EP to the marker. The only limitation is that you can only take whatever vehicle you are capable of obtaining at that point in the game (early Los Santos missions - even if you can bring vehicles from San Fierro and Las Venturas, not every vehicle in the game spawns this early on. The main example is the Hunter helicopter, in which you can do Vigilante mission. It won't spawn until very late in the game)

Make regular backups of your savefiles, even if you don't use mods or change scripts or anything like. This cannot be emphasized enough, specially if you're a special vehicle collector or if you have put a lot of work into your savefiles

If you don't want your garages to glitch and eat your flaming AP Savanna with $100,000+ worth of modifications, but you also don't want to be extra careful around them like if they were plutonium or some sh*t, then a good way to avoid garages glitching when you drive/fly by them is to stuff them up until they're full (2 vehicles in Ganton, 4 in every other garages, even those in LV that can barely hold a car and a bike). If you have to, grab small vehicles (bikes) to fill up whatever empty spaces you might have. This way, you avoid those garages opening and having supper with your car (hint: the car is the meal) when you're doing 300 an hour in your Nitro-powered Infernus and you drive down Doherty (for example)

Never save in Santa Maria Beach, Paradiso, Palomino Creek, Calton Heights, or any of the LV safehouses that have garages, unless you want to lose the vehicles that you have inside.

Speaking of Santa Maria Beach, that garage is evil. It clipped me through the roof once when I tried to hop onto a van and left me trapped there :( Never store vans or tall vehicles in there, otherwise if you try and jump over them you could get clipped into the safehouse and have to reload to get out of there (or come up with some shady method)

When you're out doing the Lowrider Challenge or dancing with Carl's GFs, don't pay attention to the music's beat, because it's off with the arrows most of the time. Just make sure you press the right keys at the right time. For the Lowrider, you have to press NUM2, NUM4, NUM6, and NUM8. For the dances, it's the arrow keys

If you're struggling with a certain mission *cough* NRG Challenge *cough* then DON'T keep trying. Take your time to relax and develop an action plan. If you still can't beat it after 100000000000000 tries, then just go to the Save N Play forum (Mission Help). Save yourself the trouble of breaking your keyboard / mouse / monitor / a combination of the above items. Or just look up some easy strategy to beat it

Still in the topic of missions, let's go to two of the most early and hated missions of this game: OG Loc and Wrong Side of the Tracks. [spoilerS AHEAD] For OG Loc, during the chase with Freddy, you don't actually have to kill him during the chase. You could just chase him down to the basketball court, where he gets off the bike, and kill him and his gang. From my experience, killing him on his bike is not that hard... if you can keep close to him, get a straight shot at him (no aiming in drive-bys), and have at least 1000 SMG bullets. For WSOTT, if you just want to beat the mission with no climbing on the train or fetching an NRG shenanigans, then just take you beautiful Sanchez stuffed with Big Smoke's ass on it and drive it to the far right of the tracks. This way, you should be able to kill the Vagos before you are out of the first tunnel. Don't forget to dodge the incoming trains, and to keep up to the head of the train. [END OF SPOILERS]

Great tips so far!

To get Hitman skill with your weapons, you can shoot the street lights, trash bags and boxes in Grove Street cul-de-sac (CJ's house). You won't attract police and gang attention. For weapons like the shotguns, you can use one of the No Wanted Level missions and kill cops inside the police department (raising your weapon skill and respect at the same time) and shoot random cars in the street.

Mod Shop

Make regular backups of your savefiles, even if you don't use mods or change scripts or anything like. This cannot be emphasized enough, specially if you're a special vehicle collector or if you have put a lot of work into your savefiles

I would also add the Phoenix from the mission A Home In The Hills as a rare vehicle. It is possible to get it from one of the San Fierro races, but if you're trying to complete the game without failing any missions, this is the opportunity to get it.

You can also use Windows built-in File History (Previous Versions) to restore your save files, in case you overwrite some of them.

Eh, I tried doing that. Over the course of 5 attempts, 4 ended with the Phoenix despawning on the way to or inside the garage, until I got it on the fifth try. I'll recommend getting the one from the race, which takes less than two minutes

You're no less likely to get attacked if you wear neutral clothes. Unless it's a feature on PC? On PS2 the clothes doesn't matter, nor does tattoos.

You may consider getting a Majestic too as it's assigned only to the Ballas ped group.

That's right, the color of your clothes doesn't affect the other gangs' behavior.

As for the Majestic, it might be assigned to the Ballas, but it does have spawn points across the map. The Tornado is assigned to a ped group other than the Vagos, maybe it does spawn in traffic somewhere?

If you have already won the race I don't think it will increment attempts and there is nothing to record mission failures, just a completed/attempted ratio that isn't perfect early in LS. So repeating most side-missions for vehicles or whatever isn't going to hurt your stats.

IMHO, the Phoenix and Euros are really fun normal traffic cars and fairly boring trophies. This is pretty easy to fix on anything but consoles. Just edit a plain text file or swap in someone's pre-made car group file. Well, I haven't seen a pre-made one that's mostly normal and doesn't have NRGs and Hotknifes all over the place, but we could figure it out. Make sure the Tornado has a home on a map without gangs.

There's one lowrider without a fixed spawn or something. I think a Blade spawns in El Corona, and a Voodoo too. Majestics spawn at streamed cargens that are hard to map properly these days - see above. A Savanna in unlocked with the lowrider shop. Broadway everyone knows. The Remington and Slam Van spawns in LS are export vehicles we always displayed. I think the Tahoma is seen in non-gang traffic but doesn't have any fixed spawns. Been a while since rubregg and I thought through this but in the end we only added a fixed Tahoma spawn in El Corona and a Tornado in Willowfield to round out the class.

IIRC, Smoke's courier missions can be completed, which might make a slight technical difference to anyone trying to milk a slightly higher stat.

You can fit 4 Vehicles in Ganton. Every Garage in SA, as well as VC, LCS, and VCS has an absolute capacity of 4 inside each Garage (III can fit 6, but only 1 in Portland). As for Ganton you can hold 2 Cars and 2 Bikes (Or small items like the Vortex, Forklift, etc, etc) or even 3 Cars and 1 Bike. The 2 Cars can be backed up, the Bike can fit between the 2 Cars, and the 3rd Car can be put in the front sideways, by doing a burnout to slide it into there.

Lol, when I got the AP HPV-1000 from Small Town Bank, I put it in Palomino Creek and saved the game. The Garage even opened when I walked into the Safehouse. Like you said, this is NOT recommended, but it did NOT disappear and the properties remained. I saved, then reloaded. I checked the properties and then moved it to Dillimore where my AP Sabre, AP Sadler, and AP Sanchez are with it.

When it comes to Santa Maria Beach, I hear horror stories, but I can't say I had any myself. In fact, I do the exact opposite in this case. In my Mobile Save I store the EP Mule inside SMB, which is a tall truck/van, but I never had problems. I just backed it up into the left or right corner, put another Vehicle next to it in the left or right corner, put a Bike in between them, and then squeezed even a third Car into there by doing a burnout and put it into the front. 3 Cars and 1 Bike fit easily. Hell, even if you can fit 4 Cars inside no problem, if they are short in length. It all depends on the Vehicle combinations inside each Garage to make them fit...

I was referring to the amount of cars before the door refuses to open

Well believe the stories. That garage is pure evil and eats not just cars, but also people

This tip only works if you are on water in areas where the wanted levels will wear off without bribes.

If you are driving a boat or swimming and the police are killing you, stop driving the boat and just stand on it. If you're swimming, find a boat or other floating object and stand on it. The police boats will think you are on dry land and stop, and if you climb on a police boat the driver will panic and flee.

If you have a 2 star wanted level you can just sit and wait. If police choppers are chasing you, you'll need a sniper rifle to shoot them down with 1 bullet and your wanted level will drop down eventually (as described in post #2 in this thread).

Speaking of this mission, I don't think it even takes a whole lot of SMG bullets. Freddy periodically stops along the way, giving you plenty of free opportunities to shoot him - my favorite window opens up after you get off the highway, since from that point on he makes several stops that leave him particularly open and vulnerable to your shooting. Hell, once I managed to get his bike on fire with just one well-timed burst, just before entering the skate park.

Shooting him while he's moving just feels like a waste of time, because of how far he tends to get.

Do side missions and other stuff early in the game. It makes missions like Gray Imports or Reuniting the families much easier because you will have better weapons than somebody who only does missions and no exploring.

Do Paramedic in Montgomery if you haven't passed The Green Sabre yet. All Patients spawn nearby, thus not having to drive as much as in LS. And after The Green Sabre, do it in Angel Pine. All Patients spawn in the city :)

correct about the side missions and exploring, there are pretty powerful weapons to get, you have to take some balla shooting but it's worth it, atleast 3 tech-9 spots which can be upgraded at jefferson to SMG, plus many snipers, A rocketlauncher, takes some tricks with parachute tower and ak's at many locations, plus m4 at airport, then it has accuracy AND ammo, even satchels or coctails arent in restricted zone, taking some time sure does equip with baddass inventory! BTW if you're doing paramedic then before leaving grab the satchels behind betting shop in alleyway leading to bio well

^If you complete Paramedic, your health gets upgraded from 100 to 176. If you complete Vigilante, your armor gets upgraded from 100 to 150 (200 to 250 in the Chain Game saves). If you spray all 100 Tags, you get Sawn-off Shotguns, TEC-9's, Molotov Coctails, and AK-47 ammo in the Johnson House. If you take all 50 Snapshots, you get the Pump Shotgun, Grenades, Sniper Rifle, and Micro SMG ammo at the Doherty garage. If you collect al 50 Horseshoes, you get Satchel Charges, M4, SMG, and Combat Shotgun ammo. All those things come in handy very early on, as well as later on

Yeah? I thought it was the Oysters. But either way, the Oysters need to be done for 100%, anyways, and they allow you to date the Girlfriends of what I said above. I thought the Horseshoes didn't give luck since you get Weapons for them. Like the Tags and Snapshots, too.

I find the Seasparrow the best for collecting Oysters, its fast and the ability to fly over land at any given moment makes it better then a boat imo. Seasparrow is also useful for collecting some of the horsehoes if you're getting them before the jetpack is available such as in a starter save. A Seasparrow can also be stored on the Mulholland save house garage roof.

In the burglary missions there's some houses that you can rob over and over again, two houses right at end of grove street are great for this. The highest amount of items stolen during a burglary mission for me is 56.

Very easy way to get a lot of ammo once the ammunation's are unlocked is to simply enter the ammunation challenge with a SMG, M4, etc.. and exit the challenge and it will double the ammo in the weapon. You can repeat this as many times as you want. Starting the ammunation challenge doesn't add a mission attempt which is another plus.

Holding any melee weapon in a police station enables you to steal the shotgun and pistol without getting a wanted level.

I thought so. A friend of mine told me when a new weapon challenge is available and you go into a Ammunation, it adds Attempts? I don't think so...Especially if you can even activate the Shooting Range Challenge and it NOT add Attempts...

You were right... in a way. Oysters rise your sex appeal, not your luck. (Unless you mean luck with laides!)

Holding any melee weapon in a police station enables you to steal the shotgun and pistol without getting a wanted level.

First I got a big surprise when held a gun inside the police HQ. Later I got a new surprise when I tried to avoid that, by holding a Camera inside the Police HQ.

It's funny that the cops don't care if you enter the building wielding a running Chainsaw, but hold a camera in your hand and you're public enemy #1.

I found being parked around Denise's house, she will call you a lot less often which is good for keeping her at bay :).Found this little trick when taking over territories based around Denise's house. I'd wait there till Gan2 is attacked.

Getting 'in' an aircraft will extend timer for gang attacks.

Going past west Rodeo and Richman will extend timer for gang attacks.

Tip for getting a lot of progress with Denise at the start, take her on the meal date at ten green bottles near her house and instead of taking her home enter the gym nearby and she'll disappear, then go back to her house and you can date her again and repeat this process - easy way to get 50% progress quickly. Eventually she'll want to go on different dates and invite you in for coffee so this tip is only good for getting progress at the start.

Also to the poster above, nice to see another Xbox original player - we're rare on here. :)

Carl can't receive gf calls when he's in a car, and also not during a gang war.

The gang attack timer, but also the gf call timer is counting down more slowly the farther away Carl is.
