Driving school glitch, non-existing tests can be started

Basically summed up by this

In driving school, I can either go to the left of The 360 or to the right of City Slicking, both of which results in some weird tests where the border disappears, and if I start those, CJ spawns in the interior of driving school's exterior. It's like it just allows you to select tests out of bounds.

 

I have no idea how this happened. I started doing Driving School, then suddenly all tests disappeared; I was only left with the borderless glitch test. Sometime later, I come back, and ALL the tests are unlocked (I only completed The 360), and I could go out of bounds in the test selection as mentioned, and weirdly (for me, may be related) the demo videos are all plain grey color.

 

Now I completed all the tests on bronze already, and a Super GT spawns outside, but I never get any phone call from Jethro or Cesar, so I can't unlock Wang Cars

 

My theory is that the game detects if the amount of tests unlocked is equals to 12 or something, then if it is, trigger the phone call. But in my case, somehow, the amount of tests unlocked glitched, so it may be like 99999999999, thus explaining why they were all unlocked and I was able to go out of bounds.

 

I checked GTAModding but they did not mention anything about driving school.

Something is unstable. I scrolled through all of the tests, and then suddenly Carl is standing in a wall less field with the two doors and a couple of other odd things, and unable to leave.

 

So the Save is corrupted in some manner.

That is exactly my problem, also shown in the video. So I think it's not a mod problem, it's a save one.

 

I think maybe it's that driving school tests send you to the exterior world, but since the test is nonexistent, they place you in like a default location instead, which is there.

Your save is corrupted, but the root cause is most likely a Mod that recorded bad data to the save.

You might consider uninstalling and doing a clean reinstalling from your DVD.

So the only way is to start a new game? There is no way to rescue the save? I would really hate to do all those missions all over again, not to mention side missions.

 

Also, I bought it from Steam (Mac, so it's 1.01), and used a 1.0 EXE US Hoodlum.

Back to school mission - Driving school passed.

Got two calls from Jethro.

Street and Air Races now avaible.

Cesar missions available (Wang cars).

Saved back at doherty with full armor picked up near tracks.

 

I advice you to uninstall the game, delete any coexisting game files (to get rid of mods - if you have any), reboot and than do a clean reinstall.

Wow you are amazing at this. Did you use a hex editor? At first I was expecting just some old save file, but no, everything remains the same, but Driving School is fixed! Thanks, you are awesome.

 

(You are also amazing for getting gold. Impossible for me, haha.)

Not a problem, you are welcome ;-)

 

No old save file, just your save file edited to reset school score. Then redone driving school. Hopefully glitch won´t happen again if you try to complete other schools - boat, bike and fly ones. I recommend you to complete them as soon as possible, so you´ll see. When another problem happen, feel free to post here so we can help

Thanks my friend for the details!! I also want to learn driving but I am not finding any good Port Macquarie Driving School. I found some driving academies but their prices are too high. Please recommend a reasonable priced Driving School!!
