Welp... players in trailer parks across the world are saddened to hear this.

Don't be a tryhard, a bad winner or a sore loser. No need for smack talk, posturing or fronting.

It's just a game.

someone thats not self entitled, knows actions have consequences and thinks realistic about sh*t

for an example i am against cheaters but if they are kinda self aware that rockstar can ban them and they are kinda the more socialistic type that wishes for everyone to enjoy all assets of the game and they are not those greedy nasty things you generaly find among them that just think they are entitled to own everything, i can kinda respect that.

in heists; just play sensibly or be social on the mic or make our team laugh without jeopardising a setup/heist.

in freeroam: make me laugh, perform a decent/skilled kill on someone or myself or be social on the mic or perform a cool stunt for me or friends to witness (and no I'm not talking about pissing motorbike stunts, seen enough of them)

I think the standards for winning my respect are pretty low in this days, seeing that most people are jerks or just plain dumb.

Just setting the heists for "player saved outfits" so we can use the tactical vest, will win my respect for the host

(Cant undestand how ppl still cant understand that sh*t )

Sentinel Driver

If you use heavy armor outfits during heists you have my respect. If you prefer jogging shorts and pogo masks get the f*ck out

Don't kill me or my friends for no reason.

Play well.

Drive cool cars tastefully modded.

Be open minded/creative to other in game activities.

Teach me new ways to play the game. It's always refreshing to see a new perspective in missions or heists.

In GTA:O it's been discussed time and time again how the player community is pretty sh*t towards one another. My question is what does it take for you to think someone is a cool guy, or someone that you would "respect"?

* Someone who knows griefing is immature...and doesn't do it.

* Someone who doesn't follow me everywhere I go, honking their horn.

* A friend who proves it by not killing me when I have a bounty; instead, they actually defend me when someone is attacking me.

* Someone also willing to help with a daily objective or whatever might come up in-game.

Don't use Armored Kuruma in Free Roam

Dream on. lol

Personally, I respect the guys that don't strictly use Miniguns and RPG's in deathmatches. As well as the guys who take the time to message you "good game" or something to that effect, after a fun competitive game of any sorts. It's really refreshing as opposed to the hate messages and name calling.

What about you guys ?

I'm in line with you, folks that don't get bent out of shape during PvP whether they're winning or losing. Just a good sport overall and don't play the game angry. Have fun with it. I'm that guy that would send a "good game" or "that was fun" message, even if they were playing angry.

There was this dude, recently, that was sending me in-game messages. I ignored them. Forward a few minutes later, he leaves the lobby and sends me a voice message to my PSN account. I hear it, more angry talk. So I respond, "Hey man, I just got your message but it's blank...not sure if you meant to send me something. Good game, btw." (Something to that effect).

Dude replies, "I was just saying that I got booted. Good game to you too. You got some skill."

All it takes is for someone to be the bigger person, and things would be cool.

I'm not above sh*t talking either. I had some dude looking for a fight, out in Sandy Shores. I would say about 10 minutes into it, he was getting destroyed! I text him, being a jackass, "Bro, you're good...mad skills" (i though it was funny)

Dude replies, "Lol, it's not my day" as opposed to some angry reply.

Again, all it takes is for someone to be the bigger person.

Players that apologize.

In a game like GTA , saying sorry is a revolutionary act.

Menstrual Deranged

When anyone shows any sign of being a genuinely decent person in a game where they don't really have to be. My biggest thing, for whatever reason, is when someone refrains from racing dirty. Nothing worse to me than someone who wins a race after running everyone else off the track (unless it's a GTA race, then anything goes!).

When I see a blip following me on the minimap, and then I turn onto another road and he keeps going straight, rather than chasing me and blowing me up.

I don't respect pixels.

OT: Guy drove up to me, stayed there for about thirty seconds, honked then drove off without stickying the sh*t out of me.

The type of GTA Online player that I respect the most are players who don´t shoot others on sight, don´t damage or destroy other player´s vehicles for no reason and don´t try to get cheap kills (while you´re buying stuff, while you´re exiting a garage...).

^^ True; I'm trying to "let go" of some of the past (understandably justified) bitterness, and give other players the benefit of the doubt; such as:

* Leaving $500 crates untouched for the other person who jumps into my Gang Attack.

* Trying to just ignore the virtual human flies (usually in passive mode) who follow me around the map. Very tempting to run them over because it's highly annoying; but(!) I launch a race or jump into my Buzzard and let them go bother someone else...

Is this about the game or in real life?

seeing as it was posted in the GTA : Online section, i'd like to think it was kind of clear we were talking about the game.

People compare this game with real life, they compare it with Saints Row and many other games.

So was just asking ;)

I was reported and received negative reputation points on Xbox live after I killed a kid who tried to kill me first. They reported to Microsoft and I can only play with "Avoided" players! I got 4 unsporting points.

That's the most insane thing I ever read. What do you mean by you can only play with avoided players? I'm on PSN, so I have no idea.

increase da peace.

but yeah I've said sorry a few times to players who accidentally got in my way when I'm in PvP with another player

I accidentally put a bounty on someone a few hours ago, apologised and then the player left.

A little bit of politeness in GTAO is so rare it feels like an alien concept, so I like that. I also like people that beat me or match me in PVP but don't feel the need to gloat. I feel the best friendships in GTAO start with a freeroam battle that turns friendly, the mutual respect is established from the start in that case.

Drive Armored Kuruma in a contact mission and you get my gratitude.

I can lay back and chill thanks to you.

You will guarantee to earn my respect by using any vehicles but Armored Kuruma or Insurgent in contact missions or heists.

A simple apolgy goes a long way. Just not a sarcastic "sooorrrrrrrrrrrryyyyy"

Don't kill on sight unless provoked, don't dress like the joker, and customize your cars in a way that an actual human would still drive it.

What is up with those Joker wannabe or shirtless/topless characters?

Respect is deserved......Trust is earned. I respect ppl till they act like a douche. I go around freemode in passive, so i avoid ppls attempts to kill me, doesn't stop em from tryin though lol. I like to troll the trolls in missions though, im like "so, u wanna troll ppl? Ok here we go then". My favorite are heist trolls. They think i didnt see them cut my pay right b4 hittin continue. I turn into an insta-noob, and keep messin up to where they dont even realize what's happening. Then after a while i txt em "u get what u pay for" then leave.
