tuff_luv_capo Posted August 31, 2015 Share Posted August 31, 2015 (edited) So I don't know if all of you know what a yard sale is (I know a lot of you are overseas in foreign countries), but in America when you lose your job or get a crazy hospital bill, you take all the stuff you bought over the years and basically give it away on your front lawn for super cheap. It's a pretty common practice for older women to scavenge yard sales early in the morning for knick knacks, but there's also a lot of actually valuable things there for men to either collect or make money on by selling in a normal manner like craigslist or ebay or anywhere else but your yard. Anyways enough backstory, here's what I found today. I was yard sailing across town on Queen St and for anyone familiar with American geography, any street named after royalty is a bad street to be on, so I was very cautious where I parked so as not to get my stuff stolen. I'm not racist at all, my best friend is black and I know he could steal it back for me if I needed him to. The first house I came across was a gold mine. I LOOOOVEEE old stuff and collectibles. Not exactly antiques, just classic stuff. For example he had the ORIGINAL Spongebob Squarepants movie unopened, but just as I was gonna snatch it up, someone else bought it. Some other cool stuff was he had one of the very first Adventure Time comic books ever made, which I couldn't believe were in as good of condition as they were. There were no wear marks or aging at all. He wanted $20 but I talked him down to $10. I'll probably keep it. Anyways, onto the good stuff, after he saw me pick up a few nerdy things, he asked if I wanted to see his garage where he kept all the electronics. I said hell yea, and even though he wasn't white I went into his garage hoping to find where the real gems were. Most of the stuff was pretty lame TBH, there were a few stacks of records and some old cameras, but none of them were digital so they'd be hard to sell. He shows me a few classic gaming consoles like the first 3DS and an he actually had an iPOD nano hanging up on a shelf but he said it wasn't for sale. That's when I saw it, underneath a pile of clothes was a Microsoft tag just barely visible. I hoped against hope that it was something nostalgic like a launch edition One or maybe at least a 2nd Gen, but when I asked him to show it to me I couldn't believe my luck. Now I knew Microsoft had been making stuff for awhile, but I had no idea how primitive their early technology was. When he pulled up the console, careful not to damage it, I had to take a pic right away. What you're looking at is an early 320gb Xbox 360 Slim. This was a pretty big deal in its day, back then Microsoft had the idea to make the Xbox 360 not only smaller, but quieter and faster to boot. It was a major success and eventually replaced the now extinct Xbox 360. Now I hadn't seen anything like this in quite some time, especially not in this good of condition, so I had no problem paying his asking price of $200, but my question to you is: What do you think I could get for it?
