Can You Guess # of Players in Lobby by Lag?

Is it just me, or is the severity of lag a reliable indicator of how many players are in a free roam lobby?

 

Rarely if ever does this game lag with fewer than 16 players in the lobby.

Most of the times I'm in 10/15 player lobbies, most low ranked people, underage, no respect, singing and other noise stuff in their mic., hackers, people who stay all day in their appartment.....

Not sure if you want that? Oh yes, the lag. f*cking terrible. Driving around, try to chase someone, I got lag and the other guy doesn't have any issue....

I would rather have all of the props and animals from story mode instead of another 14 idiots.

Lag doesn't indicate lag for me. I can play GTA O with one person and the game lags like crazy, or be in a public free roam session with 20 others and there's no lag present.

I've experienced some today when pulling the trigger on the heavy sniper it just wouldn't.

No.....? I'm in full lobbies and don't get lag a lot.

 

Only when I'm near somebody with sh*t internet do I experience lag. ie- them surviving SEVERAL heavy snipes to the head, them teleporting all over the place as I'm chasing them

i normally dont get that much lag but when i do, i know some KSA or brazilian player is in session...

 

i swear they got the worst network in the world!

I don't lag every time there is a packed lobby, but every time I lag I'm in a packed lobby.

 

And to me lag isn't just unplayable glitchiness. Even if the fram rate drops to like 20's it's annoying and distracting.

It depends on who the game makes host.

I can guess the number of players in the lobby by the number of explosions I hear when I join the session.

For some reason, I usually experience lag between the same two specific people...

 

A lobby can be full or empty, but anytime I try to play with one of my friends, we're always desynched...

Of course, that is not to say that other people won't lag either. More full servers do have a tendancy to crap out more reliably.

But there's a higher chance I won't be able to play with my friend than, say, not being shot by the bloodthirsty guy killing everyone.

 

It's downright sad how bad R* servers are.

I can't say for certain, but sometimes it seems as though lag is driven by one or two players despite how many are in the lobby.

 

I've been in high number lobbies, and things run fine.

Usually when there's more than 10 players in one session my frame rate drops to around 25 or something, which is really annoying. And then it won't let you load the pause menu, and the phone will take ages to pop up. If this happens to you, either go away, to blaine county, or get in your garage. Both things have helped me.

my frames drop when a session is full (more accurately when the session has mainly people in freeroam blowing up sh*t) but I don't get much lag... but if i do I normally realise I am connected to a bunch of douches from western USA/far eastern Europe so changing sessions fixes that. It seems to me even as few as two or three laggy people can effect an entire session.
