lysander Posted October 14, 2015 Share Posted October 14, 2015 Recently I upgraded my monitor to the Acer XB270HU 27inch,1440p,144hz Gsync monitor. One of the things I was concerned about was how my Galax GTX 970 would cope at 1440 res....turns out it copes very well! I did have to turn a couple of settings down- Post FX, Textures & Shader to High from Very High, turn off Extended Draw Distance but the res clarity makes up for that and it looks better than ever with x2MSAA+MFAA+TXAA and get 55-70fps performance wise. Overall the 970 especially for the price £280 when I bought mine does not under perform at all and I actually think is the best value card I've ever bought. Its quiet, temps are low and it can play the top end games with mid-high settings extremely well. GTAV though does impact CPU more than any game I've played before. My i7-4770k is for the first time being pushed with 92% usage in game! I do think a lot performance problems with this game can be accounted for by lower CPU specs or using a HDD and not necessarily the GPU. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

GTA5 is more demanding with CPU then PlanetSide2, and is the only game I have played that gets the CPU usage to 40% most stay around 20%. In case someone can not see it my CPU is an i7-4930k.
