I think he'd stay alive if Roman was around but to me that seemed like the straw that broke the camels back. Do you think Niko took his own life? I like to think that Deal is the good ending in this sense. Maybe Niko finds happiness in his kids or whatever. Roman died. But people get over things. Everyone gets over death. The kid scenario is probably the best scenario, but I don't see him just retiring out of site forever because Roman dies. In the first paragraph I talked about Roman's death, and in the second about Kate's death. I have only played the "revenge" ending where you kill Dimitri and where Pegorino kills Kate.
