Not complaining, just FED UP with Heists dragging GTA online down

The problem isn't heists per se, The problem is the sh*te payouts on every other game mode, Survivals as an example are usually easy to get into a full game because of the half decent payouts.

Racing is is NOT all about GTA. You might be playing the wrong game if you truly think that. Perhaps you might want to play another game like Need for speed most wanted if you want to play a good racing game.

When you put your game in, or start it up is boosting cars all you do? DO you go from car to car endlessly hijacking them?

Op, you do realize that just because lots of people are doing heists it doesn't mean that you have to?....

That isn't his beef. He is saying that Heists have fractured the player base and the amount of players available for other jobs/missions have been significantly reduced. (Which is true)

But we don't know if the amount of players has just dipped because of the separation of platforms or maybe less people playing.

OT - heist obsession drove me to the edges of sanity in this game, and i've become (though i dabbled before, however, not exclusively) a full blown jet griefer because i can't find a race that turns catch-up and slipstream off, cant find a LTS without the word Vs. in the title, can't find a DM that offers a reasonable amount of money, and NO ONE plays contact missions. I f*cking hate heists i wish they were never born!!!! I was having about 100000X more fun at this time last year than now. Taking acid and playing all day long between a bunch of game formats was awesome, instead of brainstorming with 3 noobs on how to deliver the GD EMP. they were fun the first time around, don't get me wrong. it was an awesome addition to GTAO, but at what cost????

Bumper cars, slipstream, and catch-up are ruining racing, not heists. Everytime i try to host a normal, non-contact race all the scrubs quit as fast as they join. They know they'll lose without their crutches. Dms are ruined by all the fistfight and 10000000rp matches. Heists are ruined by all the trolls and noobs (if u cant stay alive do everyone a favor n stick w missions until ur good enough). Missions are the only thing holding strong, but they are getting stale after the 1000th time playing "a titan of a job". Yet despite all that i still manage to have fun everytime i play. The game is what u make of it. If u look for the negatives theyre easy to find, but why not look for the positives instead. You will enjoy the game a lot more if u do. Meeting good hearted ppl to play with, and helping lower levels, has made a huge difference for me. Try joining a legit racing crew with like minded ppl.

People only grind the best to earn money. Previously, it was RR and Coveted. Way before that, it was that Gerald's mission to steal drug from the Lost.

 

Now there are different kinds of player and you met these players who like to save money to unlock in-game stuff.

 

And thanks to Rockstar who kept nerfing down rewards and buffing up enemy AI, these players got no other way but to work themselves like a horse in order to achieve what they want to achieve, which is both pitiful and pathetic to me now. Meanwhile, this affects you too, the other type of players, from getting a race/deathmatch session properly, not to mention the amount of rubbish trap custom jobs invitations.

 

So yeah, blame Rockstar who designed the game. Not the players. Nobody grinds mission in GTAIV Multiplayer, right? Yeah, because there's none and nothing to achieve there.

I suggest ya find some competitive crews, they always have fights or events going on against others.

 

Aside from that I would disagree and I actually cherish more cooperation because it's mostly a co op game, my problem is usually the opposite people are to competitive and hostile even on co op jobs.

Don't worry about it, you were no where near as disrespectful as the other manic tool that quoted me. Not flaming stating a true fact to what this section has turned into the last few months. People need to quit their self entitled bs (no offense OP), and just accept the fact the game is what it is. Don't like it, don't play it very simple. I can understand the threads at the beginning of online but it never ends. There are very little constructive discussions left here, the only decent threads left are the vehicle threads, stunting threads and a few others. The speculation threads turn into wars, the rest are just carbon copy complaint threads.

I don't follow you. Do you even know what the legal term for Grand Theft Auto is? It has NOTHING to do with racing whatsoever.

This is the kind of criminal acts I am expecting to see in this game. Not to waste my time with deathmatches and ridiculous racing. I'd go play Need for speed most wanted if I want to play a good racing game. In fact I resent the idea that Rockstar is forcing us to participate in racing in order for us to unlock upgrades of our vehicles in LS customs.

I think that the Forum is in the phase "Coasting on fumes, trying to think of anything original to write about a 2 year old, washed-up online game that has been left for dead by its creators."

 

I reasonably expected that after Rockstar went to all the long, painful effort to birth the beautiful game world of GTAV, plus all the GTA Online marketing hype they shoveled at us for years, that now they would have delighted in exercising their creativity in making new gameplay modes to keep Online fresh, and entice new players to keep buying the game. But instead, it took them more than a year just to create some heists, and about the only other additions to the game over time have been a few overpriced supercars and some retextured clothing. This online business is really too hard for them.

 

EDIT: I should say, the missions and the heists did indeed take some real design effort, and a lot of them were (and are) fun. But perhaps it would have been better to release the missions, and maybe even the heists, over time, so that we could feel the freshness.

Agreed on 95% of your post. Remember Rockstar are the masters of hype, and they always deliver minus the few discrepancies that were suppose to be online from day 1. Also originally they weren't porting the game to the PS4 and yet they did. I don't necessarily take the whole we are only going to get the heists we have seriously. There could be 5 more in the works for all we know. As far as creativity and expansion I look at it like this. If the ranking system is capped at 8000, and I've mentioned this elsewhere, there is a very strong possibility GTAO will carry over stats etc into future titles since everything is cloud based. If they add a decent penny into upgrading their server farms I can't see why this couldn't happen.

 

But I think for their first real bout in the MP scene they did very well. Always have hiccups, nothing you can do about it. Now you have future games for example like MGSV, The Division, Ghost Recon Wildlands, which all basing the same aspect of the GTAO open world. Remember GTA VI is most likely getting to the full stage of development, so staff will obviously be shifted around. If we get 3 quality updates for GTAO a year I'm fine with that. I rather have quality over quantity, and it's obvious because when updates are rushed, more things get broken, than what was already prior. As of right now I'd rather see patches fully correcting all of the problems that have been plaguing online since day 1. There are bugs in story mode that still need addressing.

 

Anyway I still think R* has quite a few rabbits left to be pulled out of the hat. Hate to say but it'll always be a waiting game when it comes to Rockstar,

If you have 3 experienced friends, grinding heists might be the best way to earn cash.

 

But most of the players grinding heists are playing with randumbs and getting trolled 2 out of 3 times....

 

That's just a waste of time, unless your a Troll

 

and there's the problem... Most of the online players these days are little kids who lack the skilz to complete heists / misions etc, so they troll them
