Something weird is happening since last GTAV update

There is definitely something weird going on with just modding in general lately since last GTAV update. I am crashing all the time now. Sometimes when I launch the game, and other times just as the game loaded, and then sometimes when I start a mission. Even trying to kill myself to skip the mission crashes my game. Now here is what I have been noticing. I have a mods folder with duplicate copies of all the .rpf folders. What is weird, is the checksum checker finds all my checksums correct in my main GTAV folder, but when I run it on the mods folder it found numerous errors. WTF?!? So then what I did was deleted all the mismatched .rpfs and forced a steam cache validation. It worked for a bit of time, and then started crashing again. I then realized that some mods have files that go to multiple .rpfs, so when I deleted and reacquired the corrupt ones, I still had other .rpfs with a part of another mod. This forced me to delete the entire mods folder and start over. Now here is were it really get's interesting: I started adding one mod as a time, and am noticing that certain mods when added changes the checksums. I have not one idea how something like this could happen, but that is what the checksum checker is showing. Not all mods do this, but some do, and if you don't use the checksum checker to check your mods folder or your main directory - if you aren't using a mods folder - then you could have an invalid checksum, which WILL crash the game every time.

Also, I am noticing that when you do crash and restart, it forces you to login even when you have auto login ticked. I have spent more time troubleshooting and logging in than playing the game ever since that last update. Rockstar never even told us WTF that update (gtav.exe) was supposed to do. I am getting f*cking sick of this sh*t.

I just figured this out!!! Something about adding modified files to a copy of the rpfs is jacked up. The checksums are being altered. After testing, I found that when adding files directly to the main directory .rpfs, the checksums do NOT get jacked up. I need to let someone on the OpenIV team know this. I can just imagine how many poor souls out there are frsutrated because they don't know their checksums are getting jacked up when using a mods folder.

I will say that I've been experiencing crashes lately (last week-and-a-half?) where I never had GTA Online crash at all.

Did a full Steam game files verify; no problems found. Might be a bit of a stretch, but my suspicion/guess is that R* has been tweaking some tuneables again recently, or it may be fallout from the recent Launcher update?

Im having similar problem. I use several script mods, one map mod, another few lua mods, several real cars... and also visualV mod, enb series.. and at last vegetation and texture mods... recently I started to have cases like this when game just got frozen. And I had no idea what it causes. For example yesterday it took less than hour of gameplay until the game crashed... I had those log out issues too after reseting the game 3 or 4 times... One modder mentioned he had the same problem and its because of new patch which screwed it up. I hate rockstar for this.. why do they have to destroy our games.

It's probably black text because he copied and pasted it from a different forum.

Yeah; precisely why I frequently use a text editor for copy/pastes. NoteTab FTW.

Anywho...will be interesting to see what the September update/DLC/<your text here> brings (or doesn't bring) in the way of bug fixes and new bugs.
