Take out the gang leader. Mission failed.

This has happened to me numerous times, and I know I've reached the yellow marker. Why is it that when I kill the gang leader during No Hay Bronca or Trash Talk, I get a mission failed because "mission is over" message? It's not every time, but it happens just frequently enough. We were suppose to take them out, what registers the fail? Could it be that they get just far enough away from the area? Anyone else get this?

 

I'm not talking about missions like Lost R.I.P. where not walking through the yellow marker causes a fail.

This has been happening since the game launched.

 

Don't kill mission-end bosses with explosives, particularly lock-on missiles from aircraft. Position yourself to stop the randumbs doing it too.

 

Tail rotors work best, or just letting one of the ground-based guys go for it.

In No Hay Bronca, I killed the leader while I was in my car. He was fleeing in his Pheonix, I shot the car until it exploded and I still failed the mission. What reason would be behind that?

I wasn't aware of that. I always gotta kill the dots; leave no survivors. Then again, I'm usually not bad enough of a player to let enemies escape me.

 

Good to know that killing a gang leader needs to be more specific.

 

"Take out the gang leader, but don't use a helicopter/jet with explosive rounds/missiles." You would think that they would specify this or just fix it if we have the ability to use Pegasus vehicles in missions. I waste 5 minutes of my time expecting a reasonable payout, only to get shat on if I don't do it how it's meant to be done. That isn't even the least bit fair, especially when you're starting a new character and need money. This is now a bitch and moan topic in my view...

Impossible. I've sticky bombed him countless times. It's only random that I fail it with an explosion.

 

I'm not always using a heli, I'm spending a little extra time just driving to where I need to go to rack up a little extra money, otherwise I'd be making anywhere from $6k to $9k as opposed to $10k to $12k. Nowhere have I stated the use of a chopper/jet, although I have failed the mission using others' helis if it wasn't my own if I'm playing with other players in the mission. I've failed on solo, with just my vehicle and a gun as the culprit.

If he dies by explosion there's a chance the mission will fail. It's a bug that comes and goes, but never ever have I failed a mission where I've killed him by shooting him or by running him down.
