Ability to be Cop or work for In-Game Criminal Faction

71 members have voted

  1. 1. Would you have liked to of seen this BETA GTAO Feature to have actually launched in GTA Online?

Well, it would explain why we can't store cop cars, why they locked the PD doors, and why there is a big pic of a cop car in that Editor vid thumbnail on the Newswire.

Objection your honour. Calls for speculation!

I don't f*cking care. I don't want to represent anyone or any faction of any kind.

My character is a loner.

I hated the gang turf thing in GTA SA. This thing should never come back.

Then keep to freemode

BETA GTAO sounds like loads of fun , it's putting the final version of GTAO to shame.

I am more curious to why all of that amazing clothes that we seen in the gameplay trailer got removed and why did they change the signature color from Yellow to blue in the last second (the fame shipped with yellow but was changed to blue by the patch)

These are just small aesthetic changes which did not create any errors, but you know the beta usually has more items throughout the history of GTA.

True, these seemed to be a bit more thought out. It would've been great if we had these game modes as well as what GTAO currently is.

Maybe the three locked character slots were for CnC

You could probably make different characters for each mode. Not sure what you're talking about though, all the clothes in the gameplay trailer are still there.

These were PLANNED features, not beta features. I can assure you GTA O never got that far into development.

Officer Garza

This explains the three locked character slots, each locked slot was for the factions.

well , looks like rockstar have to start making planned features into real features , because almost every planned feature that never made it to final version of every rockstar game was awesome.

Actually files have all been found into this feature for development of GTAO, as well as documentations which have already been found by others here on the Forums just as R* scrapped this and then completely essentially remade GTAO when they claimed It was a Failed Attempt & R* found complications in developing this for GTA Online.

And how do you know this was in Beta version?

Because all the files, image files, documentation files have already been found about the Early stages of development for Grand Theft Auto Online.

I'm well aware of the found beta content, but I can assure you that the faction system didn't work for sh*t. Just take a look at GTA O right now, look at how lack luster it is and it's nearly two years old.

All in all, just because textures are there doesn't mean they were utilized beyond eaaaaaarly broken testing phases.

EDIT: I've actually found quite a bit of beta content. If you don't believe me, check this thread: http://gtaforums.com/topic/786177-dancing-in-dlc-confirmed/

This is generally true for most video games due to things like deadlines and budget limits. Otherwise you'd see Half Life 3s everywhere, brewing a great deal of awesomeness over the lifespan of an universe.

The biggest question is: How much of their planned awesomeness can actually be shipped, and how awesome is the delivered awesomeness in reality?

Well funnily enough im sure you know what a BugLog is dont you, also just to point out I do work on the Beta Forum, so ive seen my fair share of over 100 pages of content too.

Your "Dancing DLC" content can also be found in x64v.rpf if I remember rightly, its simply textures off of Multiplayer that we can tell via the main tag, and could possibly be some carried over textures from GTA BoGT. Since there are a ton of GTAIV Related Textures in GTAV that im sure you must be aware of by now. But I cant say for sure.

Anyway there have been various logs of the stages of GTAO's Early Development, and that this was incorporated and then eventually was scrapped because of the various complications that Rockstar Started stating, So the proof is all there, im not going to bother to carry on proving my point to someone who is as amendment as you that they know things that are against what is stated right in front of you. End Of.

Serious question, may sound stupid, but anyway;

All this content that was found in the files, somewhat of a half finished project, can we not use it and 'mod it' into an actual working state?

Now I know that rockstar would have abandoned it for a reason, I mean I can see the developer logs pointing out all the bugs etc. But some of the mods on show lately are pretty awesome in concept and show that you can do a lot with what rock star have created. I'm not an advocate for modding online, personally I think it's pointless and defeats the purpose of online, but it has been pointed out many times that glitches ruin a lot of people's gaming experience and the scraped modes, cars, cloths and weapons found in game files would add so much more substance to the game (well maybe not so much the cloths, cars and weapons, we seem to get that as a standard DLC anyway)

I'm not a programmer, call me a noob if you like I don't care. I get that this would be hard to code and 'fix' but surely someone out there has the skills to script these into a usable state. All I'm saying is the files are there, why can't we use them?

I honestly doubt the feature got anywhere near usable is the thing. Knowing how lack luster GTA O's scripting is, it doesn't take much to accept that these features were probably a complete failure and scrapped within their first stages. GTA O is a powerhouse of broken and semi-broken assets.

The dancing textures weren't carried over from TBoGT, they are new entirely. Researching what you're saying does a lot of wonder.

Sorry, seems like common sense doesn't show up in your event logs do they? You're getting pissy over nothing which proves that you're insecure about your claims. Rockstar isn't the same company they used to be. Their coders are incompetent and surely couldn't pull something of this caliber off, let alone having it work somewhat.

Trying to talk down to me with remarks like you've posted not only makes you look insecure but it further proves my point that you, along with many other people, are naive about how "good" modern rockstar is. They're so good that they cut nonfunctional features and have a half working online component. REAL impressive.

@Qwats, there is no code, only textures and logs.

Keep going on and on, be my guest, just remember that the evidence is there, it was in BETA GTAO, and then finally cut after R* got complications with running it, all the proof in the logs & files are there, ok?

Now I was asking people if they would of liked to have seen this Feature in the Final Version of GTAO or not, and here you are ranting on about your own little story.

So seriously do yourself a favor and either stfu or get off this thread.

Can you prove I me that these features worked enough in order to have been present in a release candidate?

You'd want a broken MP over a semi working MP? Wot.

Thank you for sharing your opinion on something that no longer exists. I did not play this in IV and would not play it now.

Should of

Stop saying that.I see that a lot and it's annoying.

People hear "should've" and for some reason think that it's spelled "should of".

OT: No, I wouldn't have wanted it in the game, since it was most likely not working in an acceptable way.

The big difference between IV's CnC and user created CnC captures is...not existing. CnC as a freemode alternative would be a horrible unbalanced TDM without a timer. It also would not really fit to the whole concept of GTAO and probably be as much fun as the versus missions and adversary modes are.
I really liked LCPDFR and if I would be on PC and had no internet, I might also like LSPDFR. If you got reasons to dislike the police in traffic in reallife, it is kind a like a relief to be stoned and pull over random drivers in a game. But I admit that it is very, very boring, just something you can do for yourself for a bit to calm down. In online, especially as a lobby and not a jobtype, no. Mixing PvE and PvP up in this kind of way is not a good idea. Hopefully cut content for good reasons.

Yes on PC (I can just make these textures with GIMP, simple stuff).

Nope on last gen. These texture files don't exist. I checked both Xbox 360 files and PC files.

I think those gamemodes weren't even for GTAOnline but yes for a completely separate multiplayer instance like IV's. They probably found a way to make more money mid-development and f*cked everything up.

Or you can make them with GIMP and use them on last gen as well.
