Ability to be Cop or work for In-Game Criminal Faction

In the BETA Version of GTA Online you had the ability to either be a criminal working for your Social Club Crew or a Criminal Faction/Organization etc. or you could be a Police Officer or Federal Agent, Now out of interest, Id like too see your thoughts on whether this feature which was later on scrapped by Rockstar, Should of stayed for the Final Release and should of actually been a feature for Grand Theft Auto Online, where you could represent in-game crews such as the Ballas, the Lost, the Triads etc. or work for the Local Police Department or Federal Agency etc.

They were found in the files with a lot of other things, plus the bug log which indicates that this stuff was cut sometime during 2012.

There are plenty of files to support this. Hell, there are even logs of GTA V development which refer to gang safehouses such as the Vagos, Lost, Ballas, Families etc

Yeah. GTAO is garbage. I've done everything to do in this game. Roleplay is literally the only thing that keeps it alive.

Ya know, pretending to be a cop, store owner, hood rat, etc. IF there were territories that the crews could control that'd be awesome. Blaine County and East Vinewood LS starting off as TLMC territory. Grove St being Ballas.. you get the point.

I am very confident that this is real, as it's massive and would take days if not weeks to create. Why would someone do that? Plus it's very technical and detailed.

I've been reading through it (because i'm a programmer and am interested) and found something that got me excited. If you Ctrl+F for 'crook' or 'cnc' you'll find that GTA O has, or HAD (perhaps it got taken out, or wasn't finished?) a cops and crooks mode, where you could play as a cop.

This wasn't a 'job' - it was an actual lobby type. You could choose between Freemode and CnC (and perhaps others).

Perhaps this is coming in DLC soon? It would be amazing.

Here's almost everything related to CnC from the changelog:

Known Issues –
•311261 - If a Cop uncuffs a Crook off mission, the Crook will still be teleported to the Precinct during the animation.
•320441, 331347 – issues arresting crooks.
•370398 - "Take Custody" appears after arresting a solo Crook despite the fact that they cannot be taken into custody.
•440857 - [PT] - Cop player could not arrest any crook players. Arresting anim scene did not start for the cop only.
•520314: [PT] The spray booth door does not open during the Crook welcome tutorial
•520023 - [PT] After delivering a crook to the Precinct garage, my personal Cop Car remained inside the garage but I couldn't access it.
•562755: [PT] Player could not deliver Crook in custody to precinct garage, no custody bar present while Crook is being herded.
•578132 - [PT] Crook runs away after arresting him on the stolen car tutorial.
•746898 - [PT] Crook player stuck respawning after being delivered to the Precinct garage in custody (HAS_GOT_SPAWN_LOCATION)

•514227 - [PT]Text for the darts activity in CnC is displayed as squares/missing characters.
•532347 - [PT] Hang joining 15 player CnC session - Main Thread CPostScan::PrerenderPVS()
•684517 - Player was displayed as in CnC when both players were in Freemode on the rich presence
•718001 - Stuck on "Initializing Game" when swapping teams in CnC
•When swapping from CNC to FM the overheads displays will stop working.
•934918 [PT] Player cannot enter garage at the Police Precinct in CnC (DT1_19_lspd02).

I really hope this gets added, as it would be awesome and really extend the longevity of GTA online (which for me has started to get very boring already).

Why are you trying to sound like a smartarse , he stated from the begining that it was no longer in and posted it to ask if people would have preferred it , this a forum to discuss things concerning gta , if your going to try to bully people at least learn to do it without making your self sound pathetic

I was unaware of this! The whole factions with gang Hq's is intact Imo exactly what gtaO is missing, I've been saying we need rep factions the whole time!

Hypothesis: GTAO launched with a ToDo list, to work through post-launch;

 

1) Heists

2) ^ This sort of free-mode gameplay.

 

Interesting.

 

If Level counts for anything a lot of us are about to have our own armies =)

Anyone whos played this game a lot knows it was never finished, not even close. One part of it which was nearly working but since been mostly removed and would have made the game better was playlisting missions. restarting each mission from the finishing point of the last with existing damage on pvs and pegasus was very nearly working properly on release but has since been properly broken.

Well, it would explain why we can't store cop cars, why they locked the PD doors, and why there is a big pic of a cop car in that Editor vid thumbnail on the Newswire.

True, these seemed to be a bit more thought out. It would've been great if we had these game modes as well as what GTAO currently is.

I am more curious to why all of that amazing clothes that we seen in the gameplay trailer got removed and why did they change the signature color from Yellow to blue in the last second (the fame shipped with yellow but was changed to blue by the patch)

 

These are just small aesthetic changes which did not create any errors, but you know the beta usually has more items throughout the history of GTA.

True, these seemed to be a bit more thought out. It would've been great if we had these game modes as well as what GTAO currently is.

Maybe the three locked character slots were for CnC
