I found files in the game directory which could indicate the release of a casino & even horse races. Plus that sign saying "opening soon" wasn't always there, they added it in a recent update. I bet my left testicle we are going to get the casino in the next update.

I think there would be an issue with the fact young people play this game and that cash cards can be bought by said young people, there would be a legality issue with underage gambling and even gambling in countries where it is completely outlawed.

This is absolutely right. Shark cards are a bond between in game and IRL currency, so it could be considered gambling, with all legal implications.

 

You ppl do know theres ALREADY gambling in the game right. Almost every pvp mode lets u bet money (that coulda came from sharkies) on urself. Im sure r*would keep the gambling max bets about the same (10k) to thwart exploiters from wasting there time trying to cash in.

Casinos are very unlikely to actually be released on any DLC in the future,unless R* does some cheap move such as "too many gambling,come back after 10 hours",but the chances of the casino dlc are minimal.

Once your dollars have been turned into GTA$, it is no longer any form of real money, and therefore not gambling. You can never get it back. It's the same if you lose all your cash via betting in races.

I am 100% sure on this. It is just spending in game money. Once the shark card transaction is complete, it is no longer money.

 

 

Solid argument. R* can use it in courts or regulatory comissions with great chance of success, if demanded. But you see, the simple possibility of legal issues (and the size of GTA as brand makes it a beacon for d1ckhead ambitious prosecutors and politicians) is bad business. Why such a headache, if you can offer an update with golden zeppelin baloons and profit with cashcards anyway?

Yeah I hear ya, but really, all they have done is implement SP features into Online. Not added completely new features. I get that they (heists, flight school) were more than likely great tasks to implement, but I just don't see any new big thing being added ever. I don't even consider the Editor or Creator really "new". Seems to me that they are just the tools that the devs have been using since launch. Ya know?

I could see the possibility of it happening, you can pay for coins or whatever on apps for a phone and use that, but you can't cash out with real money. People using those money cards would be idiots for using it to buy GTA money to gamble with fake money...There is murder, sex, drugs and prostitution, living like a freaking ROCKSTAR!! Heists weren't supposed to be in the game since launch. They were meant to be added a few weeks after GTA:Online launched. As for the Casino, why would they spend the time animating/recording dialogue of Trevor getting out of a Casino that hasn't opened yet/would never open? Sure, that could have been left over from a scrapped Casino plan, but why would they then add dialogue about it opening in the Beach Bum update? The thing is the Casino and Indoor Dirt Track were things planned for after Heists.There's a possibility that they're still being planned/worked on, just like there's a possibility that those plans were scrapped after heists took longer than expected. As it stand they're still working on more content, and once the next update is out current gen/pc will have all the same core features. This would allow them to focus on releasing more content for all three platforms. There's even the possibility that the Casino could be a paid DLC for GTA: Online (just like RDR Mulitplayer DLCs) or it could be part of the Story Mode DLC they're working on.

I was thinking the same thing about the editors. Im sure we will get their mission creator 1 day as well (when they work out any exploitable bugs) since they changed mission payouts to be time sensitive. My point on the flight school was that they spend a bunch of time on features most ppl dont care for, so why not spend the effort on something ppl want. I wouldnt expect it to be as grand as ppl want. They could update the casino interiors from sa and i would be cool. I think theyre waiting till sp dlc, which will be paid, to update the map w new interiors (maybe even bahama mamas n split sides). I heard from fun (somewhere on the forums) that they even recently changed the subway interiors for some reason (inb4 the housers smoke meth). Plus if gtao is really a seperate entity from gta5, i think they will add a lot of stuff over the years till gta6 releases, then rinse/repeat. Theyve made way too much $ to quit now. New content = more $ for r* = fresh gameplay for us.

Poker in gtao would be epic, sittings around a table of 2-8 players? $1000 buy-in is harmless. Hellzyes plz.

 

Although limitations on ps3 is holding back bigger installments perhaps...thus always cars, weapon, clothes.

Back on 2013 I thought in 2 years there would be Casino, Zombie, Alien, more story missions, North Yankton expansion and new parts to the map when PS4/Xbox One versions where announced.

 

 

If GTAO does get casino DLC I can trust R* will make it hevily restricted like max gamble $10,000 every 48 minutes with $1,000 max limit on each individual bet, win or lose when you reach the $10,000 spend limit your told to come back later.

If you want to give R* the benefit of the doubt, ok for whatever reason they had trouble pushing out Heists, even though its glorified more failure prone missions with longer unskippable cut scenes, and they spent a lot of time on next-gen and mod-fest PC release to make some xtra $$$. Now, hopefully and finally they'll release some new and interesting gameplay this September, that isn't more reskinned clothes and vehicle? Even for us loyal peasant customers on last gen?

What is everyones fixation with casinos and night clubs? Casino Online for TDU2 was sh*t and night clubs in gta IV were boring as sh*t. The "dancing" is soooo much fun (sure it is lol) i wanna sit and press predictable button combos all day

The real reason casinos would fail is because the community is terrible. I can almost assure you that people would figure out a glitch where: if you bet big and lost, you could immediately turn off the console and reboot without losing money. Idiots who care more about playing numbers instead of playing the game would immediately start griping about how it is Rockstar's fault for making them play the game like that and inflation would go crazy.
