Hello GTAForums, brand new user here / short time lurker with a question that may have been asked plenty of times on this forum.

 

 

As the subject says, what are the chances of us ever getting a multiplayer like casino implimented online?

 

I feel that by them just adding poker and blackjack, would give me hours and hours of more playtime on GTA:O. I am a huge casino fan in real life and the ability to play some card games with my online friends, could possibly be a huge breathe of fresh air for everyone in GTA.

 

I never for some reason got majorly into Red Dead Redemption, but I heard it was possible to play multiplayer poker with other users on that game with no problems, meaning that R* can and should easily be able to cross it over to GTA:O.

Well on Rockstars latest post about the DLC coming in Sep says "along with some exciting new gameplay for GTA Online Freemode that we’ll be sharing more about in the coming weeks." I have a feeling it will be the Casino as a 2 year anniversary

OT: It's a fantastic idea to have casinos on GTA, it'd be like The Four Dragons and Caligula's from San Andreas, all over again. It's a shame it'll never happen though.

Well according to the September update thread that is stickied, we will be getting more "free roam content" with more info available in the coming weeks.

 

Personally, I think they're gonna open up the club interiors and give us the ability to dance as an activity like golf or tennis, as our characters can be seen in such a place during some of the Heists cutscenes and I feel this has been generally hinting towards the future DLC. However, they could very well open the casino and give us blackjack, roulette, and poker activities as well. The odds of one of these two things becoming a reality in the next DLC is probably extremely low, but I do believe they must come at some point before the game dies.

I think there would be an issue with the fact young people play this game and that cash cards can be bought by said young people, there would be a legality issue with underage gambling and even gambling in countries where it is completely outlawed.

 

I don't know for sure but that's just what I think.

I think there would be an issue with the fact young people play this game and that cash cards can be bought by said young people, there would be a legality issue with underage gambling and even gambling in countries where it is completely outlawed.

Dang, you do make a good point and i've thought about that too. Considering the game is rated mature there "technically" shouldn't be any kids playing these games to begin with. Maybe if they had an alternate "casino fun bucks" kinda currency that you could trade for items or rare clothing items.. ehh, just an idea.

This is absolutely right. Shark cards are a bond between in game and IRL currency, so it could be considered gambling, with all legal implications.

There are poker games in which you can buy in game currency with real cash. The legality issue appears when you can "cash out". There's dozens of iOS poker games that allow you to buy in game money.

As I've said all along, a Casino DLC for online is NEVER going to happen.


I found files which could indicate the release of a casino & even horse races in the game directory. Plus that sign saying "opening soon" wasn't always there, they added it in a recent update. I bet my left testicle we are going to get the casino in the next update.

No you didn't, don't lie! As for "opening soon" it's been there since the game's release in 2013.

I would be happy with a $1 maximum betting limit. Just the sheer ability to play cards with other players would give us players a lot more to do than repeat heists/missions over and over. Maybe if they just had it as a 4 player mini game where the person who gets to a set amount of dollars first is the 'winner' and earns RP.

No, you are absolutely incorrect. It is only gambling if you are using real money to win or lose real money. Once your dollars have been turned into GTA$, it is no longer any form of real money, and therefore not gambling. You can never get it back. It's the same if you lose all your cash via betting in races.

 

I am 100% sure on this. It is just spending in game money. Once the shark card transaction is complete, it is no longer money.

They would need to allow players cash to be bet. The sheer fact that people covet their money so much would mean it wouldn't turn into a bluff fest with everyone going all in on every deal.

If it was just a pot to win and rp, I can guarantee it would be an all in bluff fest and ruin it instantly.

The sign has been there from day launch day in 2013.

Casino's open the door for modders and money glitches. Forget it.

I think r* has accepted money glitches and fix them as they're found. Modders are a last gen and pc problem, they will and are being dealt with slowly.

I want a give cars to friends dupe glitch out of it.

 

1. Park car inbetween Roulette wheels so it blocks off doors to teleport in and out.

2. Get friend receiving car to place a bet at Blackjack table.

3. You place a bet at roulette wheel.

4. Spin the roulette wheel.

5. Friend receiving car must step away from Blackjack table and teleport into car before roulette wheels stops.

6. Wait a few seconds and friend will glitch around and spawn in the car outside.
