Has anyone experienced this?

I submitted a rockstar ticket about a loss of both of my characters. Long story short is I went from story mode straight to creator to make some races. I saved and published them after about 3 hours. I went to load into online to actually race them and I was greeted by the character creation screen. 2 years of progress has been completely erased.

 

My questions are:

1. Has anyone else experienced this?

2. Has anyone completely lost their save data(for any reason) and if so was rockstar support able to correct it?

Just in case anyone else experienced this. Here is what all I have had to do to get it back. First off I called them and they started helping me immediately.

 

I had to recreate my characters and level them to 10. Once there all my items started coming back. I had to call back and have my rank corrected. Now I am getting a list of everything I am missing for them to add back

All of my cars are back but ALOT of them have different paint and wheels. All the special event items are still missing. No real progress has been made after getting my rank and cars back. The only thing they have had me try since leveling back to 10 on both slots was the L1+R1 to clear the files. This accomplished nothing for me. Been pretty slow going honestly. Will update once I get new methods from them and any progress.

All over again? 2 character=100 win, trade means 200 races! And I also lost all the stat of strength, stamina, lung capacity etc. I would rather start a new a/c

You'd have to do all of those things on a new account and you'll also have to rank up again.

 

The most races you need is 50...If you use Super Cars you'll unlock mods for each class so you don't need to do races for each class

Working on new character, I feel gaining something, I feel the progress, but no good feeling while "reworking" on old character.

So I have been going back and forth with them this week. Only "progress" made was that they supposedly got it to the proper group who can do bulk updates back to a character. And supposedly today they are going to try and expedite the request since it's been 2 weeks. I'm hearing the same thing from them on stats progress. All of them are gone. Which boggles my mind since I still have most of the heist awards completed. Something had to carry over in the servers. Some things like the all around award, I still have the tattoo, but no award. Seems there is a disconnect somewhere and I can't understand how some are completely gone and others aren't. I don't have high hope that I will get any of the previous stats back which sucks because some of them took 2 years to accomplish on my 2 characters since I really only get to play one day a week now. I just want to get my purchased items back and enough mkney to return them to what they were before the loss since most of my vehicles look nothing like they did prior to

Latest update is a bit aggravating. After 4 days of sitting with the "higher department" I got a request to submit a detailed list of missing items since the previous was too vague according to rockstar support. I just spent the last 3 hours itemizing everything in specific listed categories. Hopefully no more time is wasted....I truly do not wish this on anyone.

Made some more progress today. After they sat on my list for 4 days I was asked to provide video of my inventory. I submitted a 15 minute video of each character scrolling through everything in the game to show what I did and did not have. I got aggravated and called in about 6 hours later and asked to speak to a supervisor. Probably didn't help too much. This morning i received 8 million in my bank, I'm assuming to correct my cars and re purchase the clothing items that did not come back, and one pegasus vehicle. Progress really does seem to depend on who answers the phone when I call. Alot of the employees are pleasant to talk to but there are a few that could care less about talking to any one. It's been almost 3 weeks but both of my characters are getting very close to being back where they were minus the stats and skills.

Made huge progress today. I called in and asked how they were going to go about giving me back my Pegasus vehicles with the 2 sums of money deposited already because it seemed to me that they were wanting me to purchase them instead of them being gifted back. He said in cases where there is ALOT of items missing they will just give money and not the actual inventory. I voiced my concern over being shorted by this method because I would need to re do over half of my cars since they came back with the wrong wheels and paint. They ended up deducting what they already gave me in cash from the total I have spent and are giving me the remainder in cash. Note that's the total spent from the day I created the character 2 years ago. It has been a rough 3 weeks fighting the loss but this MORE than surpasses my wants. This is the 4th ticket I have created for missing awards/items and in the end they have come through for me every time.

 

 

I doubt many people read this thread but I hope some do and can streamline getting their progress back in the event something like this ever happens to them.

From what they are telling me and from reading others experiences, these things aren't able to be given back. That really sucks but for me atleast I still enjoy playing the game so it's just a major inconvenience. The hard part for me will be letting go of the mentality to "complete" the game. Makes me wonder if I will be able to do the criminal mastermind challenge again and get 10 million again. Going to try the loyalty and all in order starting this week to see if I get that money as a test.
