XenoxX
So, what are we talking about, next week?, later?. What do you think?. Rockstar said that it will release in September and also said they'll share more info in the coming weeks so I guess mid september. hyperar

Spider-Vice
More Info in the coming weeks = Next Week or Week After Remember the IGG Part 1 announcement? A week later they told us the release date. "PC system requirements coming in the next week" = three weeks later. "in a few weeks or so" = 4 weeks 11 weeks! If you were around for the V pre-release, I think you'd have learned to not trust them at all by now. Luckily, as this is just an update/DLC, they're probably keeping to their word. Rafae
They'll release more information for this update next Tuesday, then again on the following Friday. They will most likely launch the update on Tuesday, September 8th. Coincidentally, that's exactly 2 months after IGG2.
TheTechPoTaToCHIP
Considering it's releasing in September, wouldn't it be cool to release it in the 17th? Like a small 2 year anniversary gift. I mean it's just the editor PC has had since launch but it's something. Frankly, I don't give a damn about the fabled SP DLC but the Director Mode would extend my playtime significantly since I could finally free roam as my Online character in an offline environment, plus infinite ammo and invincibility would just increase my chaos possibilities. Wouldn't it be cooler getting it a week earlier? Why does everyone make such a big deal about anniversaries regarding Rockstar's games lol Unless it's 10 years it doesn't matter. They didn't do squat last year, just a small thank you to the fans in the comments section. I honestly see this coming out the second week of September, especially considering they announced it this early.

Gummy14
Is the Editor/Director mode going to be online as well? As in will it allow us to play as any pedestrian and animal online with other people as well?

As in will it allow us to play as any pedestrian and animal online with other people as well? You can record clips Online and use your Online character in Director mode, but you technically go into SP when using the Director mode/R* Editor. So TL;DR can't play as animals or peds in Online
Spider-Vice
Is the Editor/Director mode going to be online as well? As in will it allow us to play as any pedestrian and animal online with other people as well? Director Mode, which allows you to play as those characters, is an optional special gamemode to set up scenes for recording, so no, you can't play as a dog or other characters Online. You can record clips Online but not use other characters/animals in it. Vertighost
I'm just wondering if the video will be able to be stored locally or is it all cloud based, even being able to use the PS4 recording function to make backups would be good if they are needed. Though the PS4 no longer can copy GTA V recordings/Sharefactory videos to an external USB, the only game I know that is like this. (let me know if I'm wrong and they fixed it) Maybe this is why they made the change. I'm not sure. Edited September 1, 2015 by Vertighost

Vertighost
If you google it you'll find a Playstation support Question, a Sharefactory (PS4's video editor program) representative looks into it and says it is GTA V the game which has dis allowed the copy to USB function...still vids can be uploaded direct to youtube if needed. It seems to me Rockstar want people to utilize this new Editor function and/or Sharefactory rather then a program on PC (though of course one could download their own vids of youtube to edit on PC if they wanted to) Last thought, maybe the new Youtube streaming function has something to do with it also, V is the second biggest game played on Youtube I could see them working together to make each other more money...secretively. If this is what you are saying than you are wrong. I just copied a video from my PS4 of a recording from GTAV to a USB. There is no restriction. SingingTrout85
I'll be glad to have it, BUT I think it should be an optional download, incase people don't have a huge amount of hard drive. CarlitoDorito
I think after all the heists delays rockstar might stay away from announcing things too early, so it's possible September is the final date. They've probably delayed the console editor 6 times internally though Anybody know what the time limit is on videos? Is there a limit to how many clips you can use? B7R
From what I recall, when you press the button to record the Footage, it has a limit of 30-40 seconds and once that's up the clip stops recording. CarlitoDorito

Osho
This is really bad. If the users are not permitted to do even the most basic thing of copying your exported sharefactory videos to the usb, then I don't see how PS4 is even close to being "Next gen". It sucks if these firmware updates bring issues for such a "common sense" feature in allowing the players, the basic right to use these features the way they want. f*ckin' hilarious consoles at this day and age, and rather than referred to as "NG", they should be called as "BG". Backward gaming consoles!
Nah nah nah Gta 6
I have confirmed this myself, you can still transfer your video clips (not edited with Share factory) to USB, Which is better IMO because you can still run it in editing software. I can still put GTA V clips onto Share factory but no clue on how to put it on my USB, but who cares, Share factory is sh*t anyway when the R* Editor is coming anyway. happygrowls
And Xbox One uses the OneDrive, which is basically could computing that can be used on a windows PC.
