Why are bad sport lobbies necessary in game like GTA?

so sportmanship and integrity are concepts you don't understand.

 

i'm not nearly as surprised as you'd think.

i understand those terms, i play chess myself, what i fail to understand is the analogy between chess and gta...

 

you really think a game like gta if based around sportmanship and integrity?

 

i think all games should be played 'sportsmanlike', and that any agreement YOU make to play is honoured by you. the games name isn't important, the fact it's a 'game' is.

chess, chequers, cluedo, monopoly, doesn't matter, you make an agreement to play against the other player/s in an 'honourable' game under the same rules(or you lie about doing so,thus lacking integrity)

the only difference is you never agree to play with 'us' like in a face to face game, you agreed by proxy through R*

 

theres no sportmanship, ethics or integrity in a game that revolves around killing, destruction and mayhem, hence why the badsport system is a stupid, senseless system when applied in a place like freeroam, where players are able to carry 70,000 rounds of ammo, over 100 explosives and are able to buy or steal attack helicopters, tank and jets.

battleship is about destruction and certainly implies a bit of killing and mayhem, does that mean i can move my ships when the other player isn't looking?................ because games revolving around those things don't require integrity to play, i can do what i want right?

i'm not saying you should play in the game as 'mr integrity' who never shoots someone after a heist or steal cars................ the games about f*cking criminals,

but you should play the game with integrity, ie: not being a godmodding asshole and/or playing by the rules you already agreed to play by.

 

there is a difference.

 

badsport should only apply to missions, heist and other coop modes where one is expected to work as a team, in freeroam youre supposed to ge free to do whatever you want.

wrong. you're not free to do what you want because the rules are there and you agreed to abide by them. you don't say what the game is supposed to be, the creators do.

you don't have to like the game, you don't have to play it either. so don't say you will then go back on your 'word'. because thats where the lack of integrity is.

Mostly the part where you assume that you know better than R* how the game is supposed to be played, or that their rules are "phony" and therefore shouldn't have to abide by them despite explicitly agreeing to them when you started playing the game.

 

Like it or not, harassment/greifing is against the rules. Phony as you think they may be, it's their game, their terms, and their rules. If you don't like that bad sport is a possibility, why don't you take your own suggestion and either "get over it" or " play another game".

The bad sport system is ridiculous, when some guy follows me around in an armored car and tries to kill me repeatedly and i manage to blow it up with him in it, i'm a bad sport?

 

It may as well be removed because this game is all bad sports, i play in random sessions and i cant even take a step outside my apartment without being one-shoted by a heavy sniper and then spawn-killed 5 more times by the same sniper while he screams insults at me in voice-chat like he's a real life gangster.

 

And passive mode is necessary because it's the only thing that makes this game playable, if all you do is go around shooting everyone you see i would say that you've missed most of what this game has to offer, it's not call of duty.

The amount of c*nts seems higher in this game than any other. i spent 20 mins yesterday trying to get my car delivered, with c*nts blowing it up for no reason and the ridiculously draconian mechanic waiting time it took 20 mins to finally get going. I had to start a job just to get away from these tossers bad sport should be permanent. There are plenty of workarounds to BS. It doesn't stop a determined jet griefer. As someone who is constantly dodging BS, I'd have to say it has actually added a fun aspect to this game for me. I enjoy switching to low level characters and jet griefing a lobby into oblivion. I'll always have friends and crew commending me (and vice versa) to prolong lobby take-overs.

 

It adds a layer of complexity to the game for those of us that have figured out how to grief uncontrollably. Rules in gta? lol.
