Why are bad sport lobbies necessary in game like GTA?

Nope.. in GTA a bad sport is only someone who blows up players personal vehicles ( only those which can be stored in garages) Regardless if said player is attacking from the vehicle or not.

 

So blowing up a person in their crop duster is GOOD SPORT!

 

Blowing up their boat as they cruise.. GOOD SPORT!

 

 

Kill a person a million times... is GOOD SPORT!

 

 

Just the personal stored vehicles are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyy off limit. Why? Because... R* says so..lol

 

 

And guess what? Dicks, love to attack from vehicles, especially personal ones.. Dicks love their Kurumas, Insugrents, Zentornos... Theres people driving around with sticky bombs on their T20' shooting at people in hopes they shoot back and hit the sticky bombs, blow them up and pay insurance and a bad sport tick.

The bottom line is, Bad Sports does not prevent players from being dicks. It just protects players PV. And dicks know this... and use it against players who simply defend themselves when they get attacked by dicks in personal vehicles. So in a game where nearly everyone is a dick, Bad Sports make no sense and only hinders self defense.

That's blasphemy! If you don't agree with Bad Sport then you're a dickhead griefer yourself! Goodbye.

It's kind of strange for R* to use that sort of system when the freeroam pretty much promotes mass mayhem. If it promotes mass mayhem and killing other players (or at least is completly indifferent to it), R* shouldn't be surprised that PVs and Griefing was next in line in terms of behavior.

There's nothing wrong with the way you play, emulating a mentally ill person that kills for no other reason than for pleasure, but why would you be upset if you were segregated to sessions where everyone else plays like that? Some people like to play this game on a different level, and it's helpful to put players that are in it for mindless violence in different sessions, because you come across as annoying to other players not in it to be psychos.

Uh, sure ok. All this rape/"rekt" business of yours isn't really my thing to be honest.

 

By blowing up hostile cars, I mean only to remove a threat/threats. If you choose to take that as "rekt"'ing or raping someone, there's not much I can do.

 

Besides, luckily the longest I've been in bad sport is 4 days, most of which were spent doing missions. After that I was and am back to my old self

I keep a close eye on things these days. I make sure to check the clean/dodgy player status every now and then, and I also commend myself when I can remember/be bothered. I can also recognise most cars from high up, so when I'm in my Savage, if I've already destroyed a few, I sometimes wait till they're out of their car, then hide behind a corner and lure them around there on foot, and blow them up of course.

 

When push comes to shove though, if it's me or them, I'll blow up any car they're driving.

Now you see, this is the very reason BS exists to begin with - have the more agressive players still have their fun, without just killing everything in their sight just because. As long as you don`t go "full retard" (expression used to emphasize my point of view) you are safe, as you should be.

 

It is not a perfect system, but it is better than a no system, lacking real admins and kick powers.

BS keeps nobody in check. It's a waste of time. Most people in my crew have 2 or more profiles. I'll just switch to a low level profile and get in a jet with no money on me. Or just have other degenerates commend me and vice versa. BS does absolutely nothing to deter a grief monster/freeroam warrior. I respect the opinions of those that hate the griefers and want the game to be something other than a slaughter fest. I get it. Bad sport IS broken though. The lobbies are ghost towns and they shouldn't be.

I used to not be in favor of the bad sport lobbies because it doesn't really stop players from being aggressive. They most likely will just continue they're behavior that got them there in the first place. The Reason they are necessary in this game is because R* is trying to push for good sportsmanship. They want players to have a good fun online experience. It's stupposed to stop the overly aggressive players from griefing and ruining the online experience for others. Bad sports is also made to make other like minded players feel at home because everyone plays hostile. But to be honest the system is so broken And it needs to be tweaked.

This is a game. The rule was put in place to prevent full-on terrorism of the free mode sessions, because if everyone could blow up everyone's car without consequence, this game would get real old, real quick for me and a lot of other people, since it would be next to impossible to travel anywhere without a heavily armored vehicle.

 

When you play within the rules, you play the game. If you have an aversion to bad sports lobbies and paying financial penalties to blowing up PVs, then you're more likely to reserve the act of blowing up a PV to when it is necessary instead of every level 1 noob that just finished the tutorial. Otherwise work with the rules - instead of whining about the rules, develop the skills to take out a driver without blowing up a car. The assault shotgun is great for taking out Karuma drivers, and manually aimed shots can work rather well also. You can set a bounty on a driver and blow up their car without penalty outside of aircraft, though the limits of setting bounties prevents griefing.

If Bad Sport has to stay (which it will because the enforcers will whine and whine for it) R* should at least make it so that to get out you actually have to work for it.

 

The way I could see it working is if there was a limit to the amount of debt you could owe until you're placed in Bad Sport. Let's say there was a 500k limit, in other words once you owed 500k worth of insurance costs, you would be placed into Bad Sport. The only way to get out would be to do missions, however instead of getting the money for completing it the money would go to paying off your debt.

 

To stop people getting in and out in less than a few hours R* could make it so that heists are unavailable in BS due to it being too risky to get involved with you or something like that. Missions would be the only way of paying off your debt so you could still earn money for yourself by doing freeroam activities, races, deathmatches and survivals.

 

To stop people getting in and out really quickly there would be a system similar to the one we have now but more flexible. If you do one term in bad sport and then end up getting yourself back in again, the debt value would be multiplied by 1.1, this means that instead of having to work towards paying back 500k you would have to pay back 550k this time. Another terms would result in you owing 600k, then 650k and so on. In short each term adds on 0.1 to the multiplier.

 

You would end up in bad sport if you end up owing the 500k within a short period of time, lets way one in game week (5.6 hrs), and last but not least, blowing up more cars when in bad sport would jst add to the debt you owe.
