Back to the Future Mod

Recommended Posts

Madgaz182

Ok Guys for the past few months ive been working on a BTTF Mod similar to the GTA 4 version, this will include the following:

Lights emmiting from the car when reaching 88mph
Fire trails when travelling through time

A System in place just like gta 4 so you can jump through time in an instant, only with this mod i aim to be able to add teleporting aswell so (place a marker on mark select time and boom instant travel)

A Full Delorean sound back and Bttf Sound files to go with the movement and operations of the car

So far this is in EARLY Beta mode

take a look at my Teaser Trailer Down Below to see that this, is not just one of those Bumper car model replacements that was released a few weeks ago, this is a fully working gull winged door Delorean

A quick showcase of the Delorean Vehicle Model

**EDIT**

This mod is now officially in BETA MODE 0.1 download links can be found here

Looking good, quick suggestion: when traveling back in time you should make it so the older type of vehicles are more common to see spawned on the streets in their appropriate time periods.

Good idea but realistically impossible to achieve , it would only be a time jump like hours or days not years , but it would be cool if possible

Wow! I came on today looking to see if there was a BTTF mod yet haha. Ok, might I make a huge suggestion for the model please? The one I am about to show you is a franken car from the Forza 4 Autovista Delorean, and that old Crysis 1 BTTF Delorean model, where they took all the time circuits and all other parts and melded them with the better looking Forza model.

You can get all versions of the movie cars in this download that use the Forza model.

http://www.gta4-mods.com/script/back-to-the-grand-theft-auto-ultimate-mod-10-f24029

I am not asking you to make it fly and all that advanced stuff, just that you do this mod justice and stay away from the older lower poly model.

I only say this because I am one of the biggest BTTF fans as I am sure you are as well, and since this game has the possibility for fully working analog and digital gauges in the interior first person view it is only best to use a Forza model that already has been modded to be a time machine.

Anyways, keep it up you already got me excited for this mod! Would be nice to get a steam engine train and have it attached top the tracks like in the 3rd movie sometime lol. XD

Keep us updated!

well i would love to use those models but i dont have the rights or permissions to change them to work with gta5 so my second choice was a mod ive had for years lying around on my hard disk , granted its not perfect by anymeans but until i can get a new model or work out how to fully create new models in zmodeller this will have to do for now

And yes your correct im a massive BTTF so im hoping to do this mod some justice

Man if you want the mod 100% perfect, I suggest using this professionaly built model. The company can supply you the correct format for the game, but you would have to map out all the parts and do the collisions and all that stuff. Make a GO Fund account and try to raise the money, then you'll see the response.

I already linked him Forza converted versions of all 3 time machines from every movie but he said he didn't have permission to use them. I say use them anyways it is not like the person got permission from Microsoft to convert it and it is by far the best looking BTTF version that was converted to GTA IV and it would be perfect for this game. I mean the Forza 4 Autovista model was the basis so it is as detailed as it can be and 100% accurate.

@Madgaz182 All it takes is asking the creator to let you convert it if you feel that strongly about it. I could ask for you.

Edit: Also, that car you have to buy doesn't even have an interior, so you would have to redo it. Trust me just use the Forza versions. We can have working time circuits on the inside even since the game supports digital gauges in many cars.

It is not the permsission for me thats stopping me , the files are locked until the creator physically grants permission to release them.

i am in talks now with the guy who made them and we are coming to an ageements on this subject so expect fully working high detail models soon

IN THE MEAN TIME THE MOD IVE BEEN WORKING ON IS OUT NOW AND IN BETA
https://www.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/back-to-the-future-delorean-time-machine

But fear not i will get the high model versions and we shall have a BTTF LOS SANTOS

thanks for all the support and interest

Honestly just having the car in the game is so much fun for for me! For a first version it is a great mod! You already did a lot of work on it to make it work better than the first video you posted so you did a lot of great work! Loving it so far! I recommend going to the mod shop and painting the car brushed aluminum in game. Really gets pretty close to stainless steel finish!

Loving it man great job and keep up the great work!

Thanks again!

Meh, it is good enough so far for me. I am not going to bitch about little details like light placement in a 0.1 beta version.

Great. I am glad to see a BTTF mod for GTA V.

In the future, when full map editing is possible, this being on GTA V gives you an advantage that no other GTA BTTF mod had. Since you can load and unload IPLs, this means that you can have a Hill Valley map that can change. The map would work like this.

-Original GTA V map replaced

-One terrain map which is the geography of Hill Valley. You would have the revine, the place where the town sits, a forestry area, and a Desert area

-The buildings, vegetation, roads, and props from each time period.

Also, if a custom map were made which replaced GTA V's, I think it would be better. Every other BTTF mod for GTA kept the original map. This killed the mood as the original map didn't change. Now if the original map could be kept and change, that would be cool, but a lot of work. With Hill Valley being more of a larger small town/suburban like place, it makes it easier to have a map that can change depending on the time period.

This all looks very interesting. I got some ideas that you might be able to consider which this mod could benefit from due to it being on GTA V.

1. Normally in cars with a screen on the dash, they show the radio station, the song you are listening to, and the artist. It might be possible to get the time circuits to display the time travel info in first person. I've seen people change the font on this in car mods before. However, making it display the time info, may or may not be possible.

2. It could be possible to use gasoline trails for the flame trails. It could make it easier to generate the effect and make it look more natural.

3. GTA V has a large variety of cars from all different time periods. It could be possible to make different cars appear at different times. For example, if you were to go back to the 1920's, you would see a lot of Roosevelt's driving around. Another neat little touch is if you time travel to around Christmas time, the Christmas tree could appear in downtown LS like it does in GTA Online around Christmas. (I'd say this would be a neat touch for when you are keeping the regular GTA V map, but later, if you decide to implement the changing Hill Valley idea, you could expand on that.)

4. The Hydra is able to convert between Hover Mode, and Flight mode. In other words, it can switch between flying like a helicopter, and flying like a plane. You might be able to use this to assist you in making a Delorean that can convert.

5. In GTA V, we can customize cars and swap out body parts. This means that you could have all of the Delorean's using only one vehicle. By stock, you could have the original, non time machine Delorean. Then all of the different parts can be swapped for the time machine parts, just like when you customize a car in LSC. However, the hover BTTF II Delorean, and the train BTTF III Delorean may need their own ID's as the Hover one is supposed to technically behave like a helicopter, and the train one is technically supposed to behave like a train.
