You have no idea what the gameplay is like in Driver 3, yet you still rate it higher than GTA??? Please people, wait 'til the games come out to form opinions and ratings on these games. Hah! roflmao... ok, lets control (the control sucked btw) this ugly cartoon guy, in a top-down 2 dimensional city, running around farting and burping on ppl, with snes-quality graphics. Driver atleast looked real (about as much as the ps1 can do) and it didnt have tanner doing retarted things. Driver 2 had the first REAL free city roaming, even if it drained on the psx too much, and didnt allow you to use any weapons. As for comparing driver 3 to VC, there is to be no comparison at this time, only VC is out. by the time driver 3 comes out (summer-fall 2003), we should have news on GTA4... vcpd19 - it doesnt need to have multiplayer to be a success. and if they multiplayer action in driver 3 is the same as driver 2, i hope they leave it OUT. it sucked major balls. Im sorry, but gta1, and gta:london sucked more ass than a prisoner with a life sentence. gta2 i never played. For the record, GTA did come out before Driver, driver was out in the summer of 1999, gta (psx vers) came out about a year before it, maybe longer... chargr67 Posted January 24, 2003 Share Posted January 24, 2003 R* did start the trend of being able to free roam in a huge city, but driver was the first 3d version. driver was ok, the only thing i didnt like was the handling. it was very slopy, but it was set in the 70s so the cars suspentions sucked back then. the city layout was pretty cool and Driver 3 looks pretty good but u cant compare it to vice ur gonna have to compare it to GTA3 or GTA4 casue vice is a side (filler) game. if u want a good idea of what the gameplay will be like(driving only) play Stuntman, if u compare stuntman to the handling in driver its the same... go figure considering its made by the same peolpe. with that said i dont think i will like Driver more then the GTA series. i dont no if u guys noticed but in GTA3, Asuka's mission #5 is called "Two-faced Tanner". and she says something like, she found out that one of her "drivers" is an undercover cop, and she sends u out to go wasted him. Tanner is the guy From driver hes an underocover cop and hes a ""Driver"". coincidence?? dout it... im thinkn this is a direct "b*tch Slap" to Reflections... what do u think? p.s. stupid but, in GTA3 on the side of the dodo in the regastation # or whatever it says YME refering to the fact that the wings got cliped casue of 9/11 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Rebel Outta Hell Posted January 24, 2003 Share Posted January 24, 2003 I have all the drivers.I never get tired of beating them because of the missions and the Short scenes in LA,Miami(I live in Little havana for real!!!! and San Frisco Kicked ass with the golden gates.After the golden gates,there is a big ass hill which you can kill your car with it.And how did I llloovvve to go get the secret mini copper in Havana in driver 2.When I got GTA2,I couldn't play it for 10 minutes that I would quit.No offense rockstar but,also that's when Gran Turismo Came out.I KNOW you guys could've done better than a helicopter view and farts coming from some guy with a fakey gun and burping of soda coming from his fat mouth.I know you could've done better.Everyone knows.In other words, REFLECTIONS RULE Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Obviously the dick part reflecting on sumthing and you also had to kill Marcus Hammond. And i think thats the guy from the Getaway isnt he? anyway I think Driver 2 ruled the PSone and in someways its unfair to compare it to a PS2 game, in this case GTA vice. I think that maybe Driver 3 will give GTa a run for its money coz there's gonna be ppl who liked Driver and may even get a PS2 just to play Driver 3. Thats what happened with GTA3 and vice. I remember seeing a trailer for the game on a PS demo disc then I played the demo then bought the game. Driver was a great game except for the fact that if you went a little bit over the speed limit you would be chased by cops...which isn't bad except for the fact that you would have to hit accelerate, release it, accelerate, release, just to keep the speed limit....there was no option like in Mafia where you can set to not go over 40. Anyway, the first Driver was great and I can say I played it more than GTA or GTA2 or GTA London so.... GTA seems to take the hilarious approach and take that approach to everything it does. Driver seems to be all realistic and mafia style. I think Mafia and the Getaway both feel reminiscent of the Driver series. I am going to give driver a serious chance because it could be amazing.
