Is that an Ivatt 2MT?

Flying Scotsman is nearing the end of it's 10 YEAR overhaul!

I've been getting a collection of German HO scale models if that counts.

Yeah, you can also discuss model trains also. I have a model railway of my own. OO gauge or 1/76 scale. I will post some pics up later. ( :

Kinda sucks living in London, the closest Railway is the EOR (Epping Ongar Railway)

It's nice though...

On the topic of model railways; I'd really like to see your's Aqua. Is it in a set Period?

On the Topic of Euro Steam engines, there's one that I want badly....

What's the make of that? Looks pretty nice but you shouldn't be running those trains on a carpet. Get it up on some table or use that bachmann EZ-track you can use on a carpet.

Lol it's not mine, but it's a Fleischmann Model, Dont worry; I'd never run such a prestige loco on the Carpet..

I've always waned to build a garden railway...

I bought a German LGB Boxcar at a swapmeet for about 50 dollars. Garden Railways are pretty damn expensive. I've always prefered inside layouts and even then, I had to pull mine up from my room to make room for real lifey stuff. A point-point one going along my shelf would be neat to have, though.

I know the feeling, I built a Shelf railway once; but space is tight...

Never been a fan of circular layouts, they don't feel very "prototypical"

Hi all, here are the pics I promised. Yes, it's not the tidiest layout in the world but it's a work in progress. I'm currently trying to revamp it. I've had it since I was a kid, my dad laid it out years ago and now I'm trying to add much more scenery and details etc... but yes, it's a bit of a mess at the moment! also it's not set in any kind of period. :)

Damn, those're some nice trains. Shame they're all dusty, though.

@Spectacus - I never liked circular layouts either. Dogbone layouts though, they gotta be the best. Long scenic sections with a loop running back into it at the other end. Good sh*t.

Oh, trains and scale models. Years ago I was very interested in them.

I have some pictures of old exhibitions. Excuse the crappy quality, these are at least five years old.

I've always wanted one of those modern GE locomotives with the comfort cab, but I don't model American stuff anymore. Athearn did a hypothetical Chessie System paint job for an AC4400, I thought that was neat.

Bachmann branchline is pretty cheap/better value compared to Hornby models IMO.

Wierd question, what would you guys rather use?

Static Grass

Grass Mat

or Scatter?

Probably a grass matt, mostly because the other two can be a bit of a mess and the grass fiber's can get into the trains, although its not quite as detailed as the other two. (:

A grass mat is for children. Scatter grass shouldn't be a problem as long as you've got ballast, a corkbed, or something else to where it isn't right next to the track. And even then, you're suppoed to glue down the scatter grass.

Well the railway's narrow gauge, but they look bigger than they let on; they also look kinda European to me.

they were built in Manchester by Beyer-Peacock right?

Yeah, all (or most) were built by them. Apart from No. 15 Caledonia (now No. 4) which was built by Dubs & Co., Polmadie Glasgow.

And the new diesel loco No. 21 which was built by Motive Power & Equipment Solutions Inc. Greenville, South Carolina, U.S.A.
