openCamera for Grand Theft Auto V

Hey there. Any progress on any of the suggestions up to now?

Plese do not expect any updates soon.

 

Also, if we will not be able to manipulate coordinates stuff directly in editor maybe we will be able to edit project files.

So you will just copy camera coordinates from marker in one video into another. I took a quick look at file format, it is seems much easier than in IV.

 

We will wait for the next update because it will affect Editor a lot.

Good stuff. Yeh Enumerator took a look at an example project file and located a mass of co-ordinates data in it but it was not in any format i understood and modifying it and saving the project file without corruption seemed difficult.

 

One thing i noticed today though!

 

NEW FEATURES

Here's a brief rundown of some of the new features that will debut as part of the next official update:

Ambient Audio and Sound Effects Library: Add ambient and atmospheric sound design with a library of audio tracks to help bring your scenes to life or add sound effects from a collection of Foley and other sfx.
Snapmatic Integration: Now you can export any still frame at a marker point straight to Snapmatic, giving you ultimate freedom when searching for that perfect camera angle.
Director Mode Updates: An enlarged minimap with location blips to highlight preset locations, the power to freeze chosen time of day settings and the ability to spawn air and water vehicles.


Copy and Paste Marker Properties: Easily copy and paste your audio settings from any marker to another marker in the clip – adding invaluable efficiency to your go-to editing techniques.


New Fonts: You'll now have more style options than ever for your titles and credits -- we're tripling the library of available fonts with new styles.

I really hope they are pointing out one of multiples examples here - one of which is copying the marker audio properties. If they allow cam position to be copied to another marker (in same clip), would that in theory mean it might give you more options to mod this behaviour e.g copying cam position to a marker in another clip?

This is R* so i expect them to limit this to just copying audio levels only, just to tease what might have been.

The editor is a fantastic tool, but they've kind of abandoned it to its bugs and shortcomings, plus director mode is pathetic. Their additions to it have been in Sjaak's Simple Native Trainer for ages now. So yeah, I agree with your assessment.

Yeh tbh i never understood why anyone would use director mode if you have a trainer. Kinda obsolete for PC really. Still fingers crossed about copying marker properties. I suspect everything can be copied except camera positions lol.

I'm with @a_tavenner RE: the disabling the 'cannot edit cameras during mission gameplay etc etc... Many bits I'd like to capture from this but can't... Like him I'll patiently wait though. Appreciate your efforts!

I know you said to not expect updates soon but I was generally wondering if the newest update to video editor has increased the possibility for copying and pasting camera positions from one video clip to another?

 

I've got my fingers crossed for this!

 

Thanks again for looking into video editor modding and the release of OpenCamera.

I tried to export a big project from Rockstar Editor (I've been working 3 weeks in this project) the game said me:

 

"The text you entered contain words that may violate terms of service. Please revise and try again."

 

Obviously there isn't nothing offensive, I tried putting just 1 letter, 1 number, or directly "Project 01"as defaults names and didn't work.

 

I searched on Google and for some users with this problems they just get able to export their projects being connected Online, so I forced my Online connection (writing - SCOnlineOnly in the text file commandline inside GTA V.exe main folder) and without mods, it was working, I've been able to export without Menyoo installed because all cars have been recorded permanently in the clips. BUT for my project I used OpenCamera mod so I really needed maintain that mod On. The only mod active was OpenCamera and I cannot export the project... I used OpenCamera 300 times before and it never happened this error to me before.

 

Any help? Thanks.

This issue is not caused by openCamera, in one of the updates Rockstar just broke this thing and you can't export or save any video due to this error while you in offline mode.

We aware of this issue, and if it possible we are try to fix it in next openCamera update. Of course if Rockstar didn't fix it first.

Our team have great plans for GTA V modding and today I want to share some of them with you:
In the next several months, we are going to update all our core tools and mods, and then make first release of our Liberty City in V convertor.
Our current plan is pretty simple:


1. OpenIV 2.9
2. OpenIV 2.9.1 + openCamera 2.0
3. OpenIV 3.0 + Liberty City in V [beta 1]


We do not have exact or even estimate dates, but for now we are plan to release first version of Liberty City during the spring season (March, April, May).
That is all I have for you today.

Will we ever be able to manually edit clips with OpenIV's text editor? I have no idea how this stuff works, but if we could read the values inside the CLIP files and modify them, it would make editing far easier. For example: telling the clip to show m_y_ped_02 instead of m_y_ped_01.

 

If not, I'm still extremely grateful for any improvements. This modification makes life much easier.

I'm bringing this back from the dead to ask about the mission camera restrictions. I'm working on what will hopefully be a big, long project, and getting this option early on will make this whole thing way better. Here is my project below and you can see why it would help so much
