Sergei
Well i got PS2 and all that stuff. memory card and well i didnt get the extra contreller yet. i am 16 and some months and after i was done fixing up my car i decided to spend some money not on upgrading my PC which really hard to keep up these days but buy me a PS2. so, then i went and got Vice City. now have played GTA 3 at my friends house couple of times, and it was fun. especialy the whole crime thing. i dont know i find it kind of cool to pick up hookers and then excute 'em. well, thats about it. but vice city is so much well not that much but its much better then GTA3 in my opinion. just more cars and stuff and people and the ability finaly to shoot out tires and other junk like windoz. just a cool game. wish i've bought PS2 long time ago. I've been a PC gamer all my life and i am still, but this game has sort of brought me back to consoles if you might say that. Are there any other good racing/shooting games for PS2 i should check out when i am done with Vice City. Thx Sergei

The-Jackal
I like SOCOM US Navy Seals, it's a good shooter and you can play online. There are lots of classic games as well as upcoming games to look forward to. Classic games are good because they are cheap now that they have been named "greatest hits" , like Metal Gear Solid 2 and Gran Turismo 3. If you have enough money for a new game every once in a while go out and buy yourself Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4, that is a good successor to the third one. Ummmmmmmm.... i dont know what else..........somebody add, ill be back.

Boardstyles
i'm stuck in a hard situation, i start playing SOCOM, look at these forums and start playing vice, then i talk to my friends and start playing madden. anyway my point is they are all good games and it takes too long to switch them in my PS2
MyMothersMySister
You should loog at "The Getaway". It is another crime caper but is a lot more gritty and realistic. It does have it's flaws but an all round cool game. MmMs. Messiah To The Animals #Cyclop9
Smashdamit
My story is the same.Years of PC gaming after early consoles(atari, intellivision,NES,SNES etc). You know what that has meant.Countless hours of fiddling with audio and video drivers.Extension conflicts.Tweaking refresh rates...blah,blah,blah. GTA3 is/was great. Can I wait months and months for VC on PC?..NO! PS2 purchased with VC of course.Later GTA3 and FIFA 2003.Just great.5 minutes after arriving home,I am up and playing. All that for about the price of a decent video card for my computer.Did I mention it doubles as a DVD player?..not the greatest but adequate for me. AND..the games work without any technical fiddling. PCs are great for gaming, providing you can get them to work.My money is going into console games from now on.No fuss,no muss. Next purchase:Pride FC.Got the demo and I like it very much. Also looking at Nascar 2003.Maybe Tiger Woods 2003 A happy consoler
Sergei
indeed its true what you said about PCs. I know my PC would restart for no apperant reason. then i found out that my heatsink fan was running too slow and the PC would shut it self down at 60 degrees as a safety mechanism. but i must agree, i've played Half Life on PS2 and on PC. as far as i can tell, half life was a great game, but its missing mise and keyboard on PS2. the controls are terrible. Yeah i have had vid cards fried before in my agp slot, i remember my geforce 2 ti got fried cause it was just too overclocked. yeah after i got home and after my friend helped me hook the PS2 up to my new TV, i was up and running in like 10 minutes. no problems now days, trying to figure out if the game would run on my PC. i just rent and pop into ps2 and it playes. sure every game isnt perfect, but Vice City is by far good in my eyes. sergei
Smashdamit
here is a typical PC story for me: I get GTA3 running on a 16mb video card. Not great but not bad for 16mb.Soon I luv the game. Ok,I think I should upgrade my video card.16mb just doesn't cut it anymore and new game need at least 32mb.So I fork out a few hundred on a 64mb card. Install GTA3 and I get a black screen and notta.Fine.Off to update drivers.Frigging huge 20+MB d/l on my old fashioned dial up. Get that done and GTA3 works...until it crashes anyways ;)So back to card maker's site and try 4 "older" drivers.Once again,it works fine until it crashes 5-10 minutes. Now I invested some 10 hours of d/l time, several hundred dollars and I have nothing.Except I am fuming mad This is when a light came on.Is the slightly better graphics(depending on card) worth it? NO I can't see the #$%&ing thing. Same applies to any modding and what not.No good to me when I can't get it to run reliably. New games on PC are just getting worse and worse with requirements and conflicts/bugs.And by the time games hit the pc and are patched and working,I've finished it several times on my PS2 The only game on my PC right now is good old Civilization2. gtamastaplaya
Smashdamit, I can relate. It took me $250 in upgrades and nearly 4 monthes to get GTA3 PC running. You know what I got? A Perennial that goes 4 times faster than the Cheetah, one screwed up looking Stallion, and a road that leads pretty much nowhere except up! Cheers to the PS2 I got, no trouble yet!
