So, I've created a separate .img for those peds specifically using fastmans IMG Console, put it in models folder and added a line in gta3.dat, but the game couldn't load it. Then I decided to just add those peds in gta3.img directly (also using fastmans console), and it worked!

 

But my mouse isn't responding now for some reason. I cant rotate camera in-game.

 

Also, a little thing I made: I have noticed that not all models of peds shipped in OP actualy use modified txds, they are just compressed. I replaced all of the original textures with vanilla uncompressed ones, flipped some textures, but I left XBOX textures compressed (512x for storyline characters). Oh, and I used Tomasaks original Catalinas texture in 512x (he posted it here earlier). I just thought she looks much better this way, XBOX outfit makes her look like a tramp hooker.

For most models it works fine but for models not defined by IDE (like the player) the game can only load them from gta3.img by default. This mod fixes that.

skin and bones 3.0 is probably the best thing since SkyGFX 2.8c/mobile filter beta for III/VC. I can finally experience proper (for the time period GTA3 came out) animations from the Xbox port without having to play safe to not trigger roadblocks

So I installed the mod using the .dll, merging the anim and data folders and placing the new models in the modloader folder and this happens

That's how I first installed it but it says that it's unable to load with the default Mss32 ASI loader even when I have Ultimate ASI Loader installed.

@The Hero, can we expect to see this ported to GTA:LC? It's a pity that mod uses default GTA3 ped models while having so many improvements over the base game

I hadn't thought about it. Would be interesting to see how much it would take to change the ped hierarchy in the game. Presumably a lot. In any case it would be somebody else who'd have to do it because I'm not all that interested in gta LC.

OK, as a newbie in the GTA 3 modding community, I need a bit of help with instaling this mod. I think I did everything correctly, but something somewhere went a bit wrong. The main charecters' textures are all flipped and the textures are also missaligned (and I have no idea about what's happening with Claud's head there, his face says it all).

I tried for genuinely 2 hours trying and failing, but nothing worked. I used different asi and dll loaders, replaced the files in gta3.img, just inserted the files into gta3.img, just put them into different directories, put them into modloader or CLEO directories, but still nothing. I just give up, I can't find the solution to this problem myself, that's why I turn to you, internet. Help me with installing the mod. The best way is a step by step walkthrough, but if you find that the problem was nothing much just tell me as simply as possible. Thank you in advance, cheers.

Either use this http://aap.papnet.eu/gta/workshop/miscfix.dll

(change dll to asi and put in scripts folder)
(not 100% sure it's solution tho)

Or replace the txds in txd.img

Or remove txd.img and txd.dir and create new empty one.

Although it's a nice pattern 8-Ball has going on, but the problem is still very much there. Any other ideas ?

After replacing txds the game screams errors at me, just thought I let you know.

tbh you should simply use

Get original gta3.img and txd.img and extract skin and bones into modloader folder

Folder structure should be like
Gta3
   - modloader
                -skinbones
                           -asi
                           -txds and dffs

Do any of the files go into the txd.img ? I can't find any replacements in there and when I import them, still complains about some error.

Tried it, my game crashed twice and it didn't even load, no matter what I did or what I changed.

I have no idea what I just did, but somehow I've done it, it works now. So thank you Georgie, may your contributions to my niche problem be remembered. Thank you friend.

Edit - I used a new version of the modloader (since mine was a bit outdated apparently). I also changed the names of my folders in the directory (they contained characters not allowed by Windows) and that made it work, miraculously. Your suggestion worked, thanks for helping me, glad to be a part of this community.

I've been enjoying this awesome mod for a while, when suddenly, I noticed something....These two random pedestrians found only on one mission, in one specific place in Portland have the default textures and bone structure. I don't really mind, though. Just thought I let you know. Cheers !

Invalid pointer passed as stream to RwStreamRead. This function is called from lots of places so without a stack trace there's little I can do.

so, it's pretty much impossible to play through the whole game with this mod?
