Thanks but that doesn't help without a full stack trace. This function is called from a thousand places.

If only the crashes weren't so hard to reproduce. I really want this fixed :/

You can always disable the roadblocks or the other police stuff until the issue is resolved. It's not a solution but it might point to a problem.

Police roadblocks crash my game, when I was jumping around I bumped to a car, the car just vanished and my game crashed. Also IDK but everytime cutscene plays it just totally crashes my game I put the cutscenehands.xml in data and anim in both anim folder and cuts.img

The police crash has been fixed. I will release a new version soon. I have gotten some reports about the cutscene hands from other people too. I'll check it out.

The vanished var has probably been fixed as well. There were two different crashes in the old version, one related to CopAI and the other would probably indeed cause cars to disappear and then crash. I didn't think you could see them disappear but it's possible.

Xbox ped.ifp should be no problem, just use it?

All the anims must be in cuts.img right? Also I don't see any ped.ifp in the archive

No! Don't change cuts.img. Just put all the dffs and anms directly into the anim directory.

I put the xbox ped.ifp file here now: http://gta.rockstarvision.com/iii_anim/ped.ifp

I don't see any difference. Care to list the difference between PC ped.ifp and the XBOX ped.ifp you gave?

 

Also the cutscene still crashes

YOU were the one who wanted to use an xbox file. You tell ME what's different.

I'm working on slightly better error handling for the hands. Maybe then it will be obvious what's wrong.

The plugin's name needs to be iii_anim.dll always? I mean, won't work if I rename it?

I like to have my GTA folder organized, but I already tested and yep, doesn't work as it should when the plugin is renamed.

Renaming plugins is a very bad idea, as you will break any interoperability between mods if there is any.

You can still rename the file extension to .asi if you use the Ultimate ASI loader (like me)

The CopAI crash is more common, though on a rare occasion I had the disappearing car crash. It happened when a Pedestrian punched me after I stole and was pulled out of his Pony.

The crashes are gone in the latest version.

I would have released it days ago but Noskillx complained about the fighting mechanics...so Fire_Head worked on that for a while but for some reason the code he sent me has other issues when I compile it on my system. It's madness...

Yes,

 

and I decided to just release my version 3.0 now. When Fire_Head is ready with his fixes I'll just do a new release.

 

Check OP for the link.

 

So the crashes have been fixed, ped hierarchies are now independent of cop.dff, various fixes here and there to make it work better.

For the cutscene hands, you have to use the files that come with this release, the old ones WILL NOT work, they had a wrong file version.

 

Many thanks to Fire_Head for helping me with this :)

 

EDIT: file was updated again with fixed dffs, re-download if you got it before this edit.,

Can I use modloader or custom IMGs to load these fixed dffs? Everytime I screw with gta3.img it gives me the same f*cking unhandled exception error

how fixed anim dffs related to modloader or img , u dont need to put em in img or modloader ,it should be placed as in archive (anim folder)

I was talking about peds with flipped textures (or some sh*t)
