Best "Classic" Pickup Truck?

Tegan

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm looking for a simple pick-up truck that looks relatively old. Pre-90's, I'd say. I thought of a Slamvan and a Bobcat, but I was wondering if you guys could help figure out which one would scream "classic" or something. I don't want a Rat-Truck, because it doesn't exactly fit the bill in my opinion. Anyway, yeah, what do you guys think? :)

P.S. Sorry if I don't seem literate or if I'm rambling, it's too early in the morning for this sh*t. :p

Yeah clean or rusty rebel are good. I would go with rusty since it has way more customization though.

What about the Cheval Picador?

Not as chunky as the Bobcat, not as old as the Slamvan or Rat-Loader... might be worth considering?

rat loader, no?

Also in the list of considerations. If only the rat truck had same truck bed customizations as the rat loader. Just hate the back of the truck honestly

Bodhi, Duneloader, Bobcat XL.

Even though it's not a Pick Up, the Rancher should get an honourable mention since it's Badass

Picador probably fits the bill the best and it does have that kind of 80s look to its styling...

I'm just gutted mine fell victim to my lack of garage space as it was one of my favourite cruising around vehicles..

Damn you rockstar!! Fourth garage/property now!!!!

Only problem is the slamvan can't be driven for shlt, even if you're fricking zombie Colin McRae...

That's true, it's brakes a practically non existent. But still a nice vehicle overall.

Damn, that is beautiful. I had my Slamvan in a White/Dark Green combo. Don't have any photos but I'm sure you can imagine what it looked like. It's true about the shoddy brakes, I'd almost keep it strictly as a show car, honestly.

Being well-dressed, wear decent aftershave, being considerate and appear confidently friendly...

Oh wait, not Pickup Trick... Pickup Truck.

In this case, Bobcat, with red bottom and cremewhite top with classic rod wheels. Shame we lose the boat hanger every time we lose sight of it.

Except it's a 1970 El Camino with a 1964 styled front end.

It brake like sh*t due to its front biased brakes, it stops better when you press half the trigger instead of full.

Yeah but google ain't any use if you're in the middle of the desert with a pick-up you need identifying and a load of tea that needs drinking, does it?

Innate knowledge or something like that....

How the fick did some of you people survive before the internet, eh?

Bobcat or Picador would be the best option for a 90's pickup truck.

The Bison and Sadler are two very nice pickup trucks though. I want to get a nice pickup truck with a truck bed that isn't the Sandking so I'll probably be buying a Bison soon as it seats 6 people. Sadler can sometimes have a bed cap though(!)

Innate knowledge is irrwlivent here. Maybe you should look up that definition while you're at it since you seem to have trouble getting by without the net.

O/T: get a bobcat

I may just do that, though probably not with whatever dictionary you're using; it might take a while....

No, I was highlighting the irony of that response...

I was also making reference to cultural norms, which would stipulate that British people are highly unlikely to have any knowledge, let alone any awareness, of what pickup trucks are given that they're not exactly a format of road vehicle we tend to use in this country.
