Did you buy a half price Savage?

I'm just wondering how many people took up the offer.

 

It has got great firepower, but with the homing launcher/really weak armour this helicopter has, I'm guessing a lot of people will have been put off buying it, even half price.

 

What are your opinions on it anyway? Useful/deadly? Is it worth 975,000$, or its original 1,950,000$? For those that did buy it, any stories or first impressions?

I can live with the weak armour and HL, it's just a question of staying aware of where you are, it's the way the f*cking thing flies like it weighs 8 tonnes yet clip a lamppost with the edge of your rotor disc and you're doing a sudden flip to your death.

 

I got one for my secondary to go with her discount Hydra. I hope she doesn't notice the reduced labels.

I bought the helo for full price on my first character a few months ago. And I bought it for my second character yesterday, since I've been playing on that one a lot more over the past month.

 

The Savage might lack armour and it's nowhere near as agile as the Buzzard, but it's still good for taking out tanks, taking out other targets while off radar, and using it in missions.

Bought mine before half price. It's absolutely worth it. Best thing for missions. It might not be the best for PvP, but it's still fun to destroy an Insurgent Pick-Up if you see one, they're really balanced

No I mean more people will have helicopters, and hopefully stand up for them in the homing launcher debate haha. I'll edit it though it looks weird.

 

As for which is a better team helicopter, it kind of depends on what you're doing with your team. In a Valkyrie everyone can use a gun, so you're using your team to attack. The Savage can drop off everyone inside though and still be able to use its cannon - that's useful for putting people on rooftops/places you need them to be or guard stuff.

Helis never interested me at all when you can just use a jet, sure you can farm with them in missions but that's really boring to me, I prefer going old school by the ground so I don't fall asleep while farming cash.

But for 975k I'll take it, even if I never use it, just to have all vehicle ownership icons is already worth it.

Yeah there aren't really enough benefits that helicopters have over jets. I mean jets are the best at attacking people on foot, the best at taking out other air vehicles, and the best for tanks/other land vehicles.

 

Helicopters can move friends about and on rooftops I suppose, but that's still not really enough in my opinion.

That's great flying and a lot of kills, but the helicopter only lasted a little over 4 minutes. Even with someone who know how to get the most out of it (like the person in the video) helicopters don't often last long against crowds. It's possible to get quite a few kills, but you can't stay hidden 100% of the time, and when you are seen, you're finished basically.
