Perfectly embodies what the film was about.

Gary Oldman is just genius. Didn't realize that he actually made his character who he was, physically. He had free reign to make the character as he wished based on the fact that he's white guy who thinks he's black but it was Oldman's idea for the dreads and clothing and Tony Scott just took one look and agreed. RIP Tony Scott. A very talented director along with his brother Ridley.

And Goodfellas.. one of my fav films. This is the scene that makes a bad turn, like the party is over and things take a turn for the worse and we start to see how the life of crime is brutal. The Eric Clapton "Layla" the outro, is like an outro to the party.

A few come to mind:

(funnier if you've actually seen the film though).

mayor spoiler for the film 'Mirrors', one of my favourite horror films

Also a few films come to mind like Harry potter, SAW, Star Wars and the Lord of the Rings etc. but I can't pick favourites for those . Probably mist a few (now, I think about didn't include POTC or The Dark Knight),

That's a great choice, Mister Pink! That's such a fantastically uncomfortable scene. Willem Dafoe is one of those actors who isn't always the leading man, but even in a supporting role just dominates the screen.

One of my favourite scenes also features him, it's from Shadow of The Vampire, in which Dafoe plays Max Shreck, the actor who portrayed Nosferatu in the 1920s. Here he explains his own take on the book Dracula. I love this scene so much because I always sympathise with the Vampires in movies, so it's nice to see something from their perspective for once!

Seems like a really interesting premise for a film. I never heard of it. I must give it a watch. I laughed at the name "Max Schreck" I was wondering if it was a comedy. I guess they just had a sense of humour a bit like Max Payne or something.

Yeah Defoe is a great character. I recently seen him in Murder On The Orient Express. He played a smaller role but enjoyable nonetheless. Also keep meaning to give The Florida Project a go.

I really like the first Hunger Games. It's somewhat iconic for starting the whole teenager vs. world type of films.

i'm not into the young adult craze in the first place and wasn't big on The Hunger Games but the movies took something I was lukewarm on and stripped a lot of the good bits for the sake of simplifying its story telling and making something easy to sell.

The stop motion effects in that scene are incredible. Robocop really was a masterpiece. Probably one of the best examples of satire and dystopia in any form of media.

Hmmm nice bike

I agree that Robocop was an amazing film. I love the futuristic 80s feel to it, the satire, and also the setting of Detroit (and the fact that they predicted the fact that the entire city would end up bankrupt 25 years before it happened, but so far no major companies like Amazon or Google has expressed any interest in owning the city, yet).

I also love another Paul Verhoeven-directed classic: Total Recall. That movie brought us

well before that became a serious possibility, but it had plenty of other great scenes.

[/YouTube]

The last time I was at an airport going through customs, I actually was staying in the country for two weeks and I immediately thought of this scene after I had to answer to the airport security person how long I'd be there for. Also, I love how they imply that Arnold wore a bomb on his head all the way to Mars on the space shuttle, I don't know why that strikes me as funny but it does.

It's a movie based on a joke in Hollywood, that Schreck's performance in Nosferatu as Count Orlock was so good because he was actually a vampire. This was before Lugosi's turn as Dracula, so it's not like Schreck had anything to pull from for his performance.

Great scene from one of my favorites:

(The "pool party" from Turbo Kid)

I forgot how powerful this movie is. I really need to give it another watch, sure it's been about 10 years now.

Marion Cottilard gives such an amazing performance in this.

The Wolf of Wall Street is probably Scorsese's most enjoyable film for me, I can watch it again and again, it's just such a hilarious journey through the life of this sleazy megalomaniac. This scene is one of the best in the movie, with the main character flaunting his tacky boat and running headlong into a truly honest person, and finding he has absolutely no leverage over him. Brilliant work.
