DigitalX
u can view the full article here But heres a kewl lil thing (not so lil actually) IGNPS2's Best Game of 2002 Editor's Choice Award Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Developed by Rockstar North Published by Rockstar Games Released: October 30, 2002 Why It Rocked: There are, perhaps, hundreds of reasons why Rockstar North's game won best PS2 game of 2002, but we'll just list a few. Besides creating a game that blends action, adventure, RPG elements, racing, and so much more into a well-composed whole, Rockstar's game has shown other very, very interested developers that the world is ready for more mature games, how far to go, and maybe even where to stop. More importantly, the Scotland-based developer has shown how an open design works. These reasons are exactly the same as those that supported GTA III, but this time around, the game offers more of the same, with an emphasis on style, big-time voice acting support and musical selection. The team formerly known as DMA incorporated more mini-games, a greater, more in-depth story featuring a perfectly voice acted character (Ray Liotta as Tommy Vercetti), an invigorating, impressively selected soundtrack, and a whole lotta pink. Perhaps the addition of motorcycles is the icing on the cake, or maybe it was the way players can buy property, investing themselves in further in the story. However, you look at it, it's the most impressive game on PS2 in 2002. Runners-Up: Suikoden III, Rez Other Nominees: Kingdom Hearts, NCAA Football 2003, Ratchet and Clank, Virtua Fighter 4 ----------------------------------------------------------- And Yet Again! ----------------------------------------------------------- IGNPS2's Best Game of 2002 Reader's Choice Award Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Developed by Rockstar North Published by Rockstar Games Released: October 30, 2002 Why It Rocked: You knew it was coming, didn't you? By far the most voted for game of all the nominees was Rockstar's tour de force, GTA: Vice City (it took the poll with more than 50% of the overall game of the year award votes). Why play a game with only one kind of gameplay when you can play this? The possibilities are endless, the scenarios seemingly infinite. And because of the way it's designed, players can finish the story part of the game, and still only be like 60% done. Stealing cars is just the beginning. Runners-Up: Kingdom Hearts, Suikoden Other Nominees: Ratchet and Clank, NCAA Football 2003 ----------------------------------------------------------- Aint it just so kewl? its not really a surprise since its done so well, but its just so kewl!
