At least we need to know exactly where these were placed. I remember Vadim said something about radio stations previews where they can be heard, need to look.

he said something about head radio and lips radio...

Finally figured out (with the help of a TC) how the train station names are shown. They're not defined in the SCM, or hardcoded into the exe. It's handled by gta3.zon. Since these are missing from the file, the GXT entries (train_1 - train_4) are made redundant. Anyway, here they are fully restored. Replace gta3.zon with this one.

snap_1474029180.jpg

Go to data\ and rename gta3.zon to gta3.txt and open it.

After WEE_DAM, add these below

TRAIN_1, 0, 750.0, -620.0, 20.0, 777.0, -550.0, 28.0, 1
TRAIN_2, 0, 1032.0, -180.0, 20.0, 1065.0, -135.0, 28.0, 1
TRAIN_3, 0, 1277.0, -555.0, 37.0, 1334.0, -513.0, 48.0, 1
SUBWAY1, 0, 890.0, -545.0, -25.0, 1020.0, -420.0, 12.0, 1
SUBWAY2, 0, 190.1, -185.1, -25.1, 320.1, -100.1, 9.5, 2
SUBWAY3, 0, 120.1, -1675.1, -15.1, 300.1, -1550.1, 24.5, 2
SUBWAY4, 0, -684.1, -850.1, -15.1, -766.1, -750.1, 7.5, 3

Save, and then rename gta3.txt back to gta3.zon after closing it.

Important; You MUST start a NEW GAME for these to work properly.

Most likely it was.

Or they just forgot to adjust zones.

Jinx.

IIRC think there were more of them, including one for 8Ball's place too, in the PS2 files.

I don't know if this has been discussed already, but the DeadDodo in PS2 EU 1.40 follows a different flight path over and around the islands. Download this, and overwrite flight2.dat in /data/paths to restore the original flight path; this has been copied direct from my PS2 disc, with no alterations.

That was covered in Vadim's latest video, but I don't think it should be included, because as he also mentioned, it makes DeadDodo fly through the building that wasn't there during the development process.

Without watching half an hour of a fat guy eating Doritos and reading aloud from GTA Wikia, which building is this?

This guys does a lot of research and knows way more than what's written on GTA Wiki, and I have no idea where you saw doritos in his videos. Anyway, here you go:

Wait, so those cranes at Portland docks, are we supposed to see moving LODs from over 300m away? Because...

EDIT: f*ck me

Anyway, does the ship with the crane in the docks supposed to be accessible? I never taken a closer look at the ship.

So I finally got back to playing GTA 3 and I decided to try out LCLF. Looks nice, although I'd like to note that Bobcat has two insignificant issues. It's noticeably darker than original, I'm not sure if this is intended. And it doesn't have that small card in the lower driver-side corner of the windshield, every other vehicle in the game (including original Bobcat) does have them: http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/185531

I have a question or two..

Do we REALLY need to use txd.img? It's a real PITA having to replace stuff in both the IMG's

What about using this mod which lets you mod only the IMG? I use it myself, and there's no issues.

As the thread name IS leftover fixes, should darkel / novy be restored? Or nah?

Have some fixes (and more coming)

8-Ball Auto Yard gate

8ballfence.jpg

Fire exit sign on Raffle's Fish Market

rafflesexitsign.jpg

Bugged ticket machine and barrier support

(NOTE: rebuild archive afterwards otherwise it won't show up)

snap_1473508481.jpg

"Fabric-8" (fabricate) shop appearing on apartment block in St. Marks

snap_1474762720.jpg

Paper lanterns above Chinatown fishmarket

chinabanner.jpg

Bollards

snap_1473933556.jpg

Roast Peking Duck restaurant sign

chinatown_A.jpg

Gang10 (yardie) with different face instead of direct copy-paste of gang09's face (right)

Untitle_IId.jpg

[optional stuff]

"Real good red sauce, like blood!"

Replaced mafia (gang01) with unused "goon" in blue suit (dff / txd)

(also retextured the robbers to the blue suited goons)

snap_1473539512.jpg

Get

NOTE: If you downloaded this before 27/09/16 please redownload as I forgot to add the texture for the blue suit goon

PS2 loading screens without the GTAIII branding (see tcrf article) also includes mainsc1 with original DMA logos

Get

For IMG install that mod would be ideal, but it should be mentioned that it's not needed for ML as it already disables txd.img

Awesome work B_Smiles :) Your pedgrp.dat crashes my game though. All the different models and textures are present (darkel, novy, etc.) Also, the "new" mafia goon is showing up all white. Again, texture is present. I don't use txd.img if that makes a difference, everything goes into gta3.img. Using 1.0 exe with SilentPatch, 2DFX, SkyGFX, etc.

Another thing, you missed a spot :p

On a side note, how do you get your money display to cut all those zeroes?

*uploads dff but not the texture*

Sorry, fixed that now. Re-download from original post

Make sure you replaced novy.dff with the one in the zip

Yeah, that one has to be remapped otherwise the store signs on the other side will be textured with the building (silly R*)

This one wasn't linked with anything.

Regarding the removed zeros from the money, its one of dimzet's scripts from this pack. Its called d_moneyHUD.cs

No, it fixes the stretched textures and the missing bottom part

By the way, I love the zone edit to get the train station names to show up. Thing is, I've seen the only the subway names show up only once out of like twenty train rides in total. I can't imagine what would be the issue here.

This one is interesting, you're using the Liberty City Stories (LCS) variation of the sign.

ZYgey7y.png

Someone known which texture is present on the PS2 version of GTA III? The same one as PC? Since few textures are different between PS2 and PC.

I have made some better quality cutscene and ambient audios out of PS2 1.40. Example:

R* PC bet.mp3

BET2_mp3.png

My PC bet.mp3

bet_mp3.png

R* PC end.mp3

END_mp3.png

My PC end.mp3

end2.png

I've compressed the PCM WAVs to FLAC to save people's download quotas. Just decode them back to WAV and drop 'em in the audio folder. MP3s are CBR 320kbps encoded by LameXP with meticulous slow processing.

It's clear that most cutscene audio for the PC version was remixed/remastered with better quality (probably for EAX and the higher-definition nature of PC gaming in general), however that's not the case with these files.

Contents:

a3_ss.flac (Mafia surveillance)

bet.mp3

c1_tex.mp3 (Overused puta)

city.flac

comopen.flac

end.mp3

jb.mp3

police.flac

subopen.flac (Fixed)

water.flac
