Not at all - in fact, X S was apparently fine with the concept as an 'official' spin-off of Miss LS when originally suggested:

 

I was going to make a Miss Ethnic San Andreas for "other girls"...got XS's blessing for that given he couldn't convince some folks with characters of color to participate in this one.

Doesn't look to be another 'rival' competition at all - rather, just an 'extension' of the whole thing, with a specific focus, to complement the original competition. Don't see how that's a problem, m'self...

You're very hostile about this for no reason. No one called you racist for the way you judged. You and Dewtech_2008 brought cries of racism into the discussion. No other judge seems to be sweating this..in fact one judge has already volunteered to judge that one. And XS thinks it's a good idea.

 

So the only butthurt here is the projected butthurt brought into a positive discussion.

I admit to feeling some due to my personal involvement with making my female character, personally having non-traditional ideas of 'beauty' (piercings, tattoos, shaved head girls get me) means i already dont expect my character to be appreciated (who doesnt love Carrie Ann Moss from the matrix tho? Oooo catsuits... hnng) in the same way as i do, but obvious lack of variety is obvious.

What`s wrong with changing the idea a bit and make it "Miss da Vinci", where EVERYBODY can enter, but only if they have proper proportions face, not everyone running around with Angelina Jolie lips and nose jobs?

 

That way, everybody can enter and age won`t be a factor, as jurisation would be made on "how close to reality an avatar is" in that case. You also avoid a lot of flak and a lot of "Some didn`t win so they are trying to find a niche where they will win" arguments and assumptions.

I voted algaguzzi 2nd - I was one of the very few to have voted for him to begin with. I felt the need to bring arguments on my top choices - I specifically said "bad taste tats" on my ballot. And you really don`t want to hear my opinion of excessive tats and piercings.

Not to play self-appointed thread mod or anything, but we've only just managed to weather several protracted bouts of infighting and misunderstanding, which threatened to derail the proceedings of the competition - do we really need to have yet more of that, over a proposed follow-up competition which hasn't even STARTED yet - ?!?

Let's not undermine Miss LS 2015 any further with needless negativity, eh? And likewise, it'd be a shame to pre-emptively taint a spin-off event with that same ill-feeling, too.

Well if someone attempted to make that argument...I'd just have to point out that those running and judging the contest wouldn't be entering their characters anyway just as it has been for Miss Los Santos. So that argument is moot.

Well if someone attempted to make that argument...I'd just have to point out that those running and judging the contest wouldn't be entering their characters anyway just as it has been for Miss Los Santos. So that argument is moot.

The problem I see is it's clearly an attempt to suggest there was an agenda when picking the contestants of this competition, and I do take that personally as it's putting words I never typed. The judging was open to anyone and some of these people who think it wasn't fair, should maybe have stepped up when it was offered?

 

Either way as I said before I'm glad the judging side is over now, as I really couldn't be arsed dealing with some of these people for a long time...

BMW's character may be Latina and therefore eligible...I didn't read his bio.

 

Age won't be a factor. Diversity, uniqueness, beauty and how realistically constructed those pixels are will be the factor.

Where are you and Furry_Monkey getting this from? You two inserted yourselves into conversation and interjected calls of racism and butthurt. Then you double down with defensive talk about people applying some agenda to your thoughts.

What is it for then if it isn't your thoughts that the judging was somehow biased against you? Funny how just you and gott have this idea that you can somehow do better by adding some spin which just somehow relates to your character doing better, when the rest of the entries seemed happy.

 

Like I said, you could have been on the judging panel and possibly made a difference, instead of crying off to do your own as you somehow think you were badly treated.

Can't judge those that won't enter for fear they'd lose...once again for the reasons I outlined.

 

Last year there were more "other" entries...this year I counted myself and only a few others...far less than participated last year. This is a trend and not a good one.

 

BTW this "butthurt" argument is very easy...but let's put this to rest...one of the judges participated in a thread trashing my character and that's fine as everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I knew going into this contest I had a snowballs chance in hell of getting his vote if only because of his previous remarks. And I also know from past results that Misty and Hannah clones tend to get the top spots.

 

I still entered my "dog ugly BLACK character" knowing all this...why? Cause I hoped it would inspire others to enter their "other" characters and also to have a sea of white thin nosed/lipped faces in this day and age on a game such as this...tragic.

 

There are many attractive other characters out there that aren't showcased here because their owners don't feel they can win. In fact some of the same people in this thread chose to showcase a white character when I know they also have black characters. Some of those folks are at the top of the leaderboard on this contest.

 

This will give them the opportunity to showcase their other characters.

 

And if you think Doktor Gott and I are just bitter Bettys..and no one else is noticing the lack of diversity in characters...you have on blinders.

I played with furry monkey once. He said he wanted to do the elite challenge. We got to the boat on pacific standard but he was over the time limit of 10:15. I blew up the boat so we could try again to get under the time without having to replay all setups. I don't think he even understood the concept of doing the elite challenges, because he messaged me after I blew up the boat and said he's never playing with me again. Genius.

 

I don't see the problem with having a contest for persons not of European ancestry. I think the point that is being made is that the judges favored contestants with European features and that people who don't fit the mold felt disadvantaged and were not encouraged to participate.

 

As an example, you can find groups of male legislators crafting laws regarding abortion seemingly without the involvement of any women. You can look on YouTube for examples.

 

Also, Vera, I don't think you should drop out of the contest. I'm sorry I was critical of you and I regret my words. You should not let a few mean-spirited people dissuade you from participating in something I think you enjoy. Don't worry what other people think about you. Anyway, good luck.

I played with furry monkey once. He said he wanted to do the elite challenge. We got to the boat on pacific standard but he was over the time limit of 10:15. It's a shame Mahey's post got deleted as it shows exactly what Gott's reasoning is for his attempt, but we'll leave that to one side as clearly you have a bigger axe to grind right now.

 

If they don't want to enter then more contests isn't going to help unless your going to pick the judges so, in your words, stand a chance of winning, which will make that even less fair than your trying to claim this competition is, your the one with blinders on thinking you have some kind of crusade against a barrier that only exists in your head.

 

What happens if all the same characters enter yours as did this, or are they going to be turned away. At that point it is a long way from a fair competition, no matter how many ways to try to hide your obvious prejudice

What? It wouldn't be the same characters. I don't understand what you're trying to say. I'm not getting your outrage about this.

 

Look at my posts...look at the different posts agreeing with my sentiment. Look at the posters liking my posts...and how can you still say that this is all in my head? That is why I say you have on blinders.

 

There have only been 3 people to argue against this...you...Furry_Monkey and FaithLovelace. Even the creator of this contest agrees with me. Your opinion is the outlier here.
