Love how the instructions say "backstory where needed" but in the actual judging character backstory was a crucial factor for choosing someone

I tried. But very few people had backstories, and that sucked. Even when they did, they weren't very remarkable. Only two or three up to a really good level (which helped one or two people get higher on the list ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)).

Totally sucks. Be more creative, people!

Why should it even matter? Back stories for your game character? That where I draw the line of where I think people have far too much invested in the game when they give a damn about something that pedantic.

IT IS A BEAUTY CONTEST...IN A VIDEO GAME.

Maybe substantial isn't the right word, more like substance.

I kept my backstory fairly light as I assumed it wasn't a necessity, though I threw it in there because do like being creative - kinda enjoyed thinking about what kind of person my character could be For some reason I really wanted her to have a distinct

- thought about writing the backstory with regional dialect too but thought it'd either 1) look more like I can't write with any form of structure than a literal transcription of someone talking or 2) come across as a sweeping generalisation of Minnesotans as i'm not from MN myself.

 

Admittedly, I didn't really go in for the 'total sociopath' persona even though I engage in gun battles, heists, etc. To me that's just playing the game. If I ever did end up in some RP session, i'd probably avoid it but the most i'll stretch to currently is social meets and car cruises.

 

I found an older post of mine on the forums where I described Coleco as a 'workshy millennial'... totally forgot about that one!

everything else is just extra but adds that little bit more which is fun but NOT necessary, its down to the poster I say...

 

 

 

 

I mean in real beauty contests why do they have a talent showcase or question and answer round?

 

it would be fine to post a super stunning char, no story and 7 plain selfies

 

and same for posts with creative beautiful shots and a well thought out backstory (it adds character and personality)

 

both are fine....

 

that's how I see it....

I thought a little backstory helps show off one's character to show the community that they're more than just a pretty face.

Look's who's talking. How about you get off your computer, go outside and think a bit more yourself because you've seem to care an awful lot about something you don't really know about.

 

In a real life beauty pageant or a pageant such as Miss America or Miss USA, they're judged a lot more on how good look they look in an evening gown or a bikini. They actually get to know who they are as people, their values, what they life, who they are. In real life pageants, judges aren't just shown photos of the contestants, that's not how that works. I have several friends who compete in pageants and there are interviews, community outreach, you get to know them. They're more than just glamour shots.

 

So please excuse myself and those who want to be creative with our submissions and want the community to get to know our characters a bit more beyond a selfie.

 

Not that a backstory is essential to winning or anything, but if some of us want to include it, why fuss about it? It's not hurting you.

Did you forget that you placed 16th out of 84 people!!!!

 

I think that's pretty damn good, especially since you were one of the last entries, and people were rooting for you too. I myself, considered you a serious contender and even complimented your character on her looks.

 

You have done no favors for yourself by acting the way you have been.

 

If anything you've shown others what a sore loser you are.

 

So please, do us all a favor and stop spamming the thread, because that's all you're really doing now.

It happened last year...you knew it was happening this year.

 

While I was expecting the saltiness from the "losers", I'm most surprised at some of the "winners" behavior.

 

Ignore the salty versus trying to rub folks nose in it. If you switch places and realize that you would have much the same reaction about your character being "slighted", it'd be a little easier to ignore the negativity versus responding to it and feeding the flames.

Is there some sort of trend that there is a specific mother that everyone uses to get a "attractive" thot? There is defiantly a few people who did not make the top 20 or 10 that actually have a unique looking person. Which is quite a shame. I would not be surprised if some of the people did not vote fairly simply because the contestants character was more better looking than their own character. (Which might not be true, but it is something to think about lmao) I can see some fufu stuff happening like that on here.

 

Idk it just seems like the same people that post every other day on the "Show Your Character thread". Just a lil observation lmao.

I deliberated a lot about your character. This is a MISS Los Santos and yours, as beautiful 40 years old she is.. is not a miss. If it would have been called "Best avatar", sure.

 

As a rule of thumb - nothing that was "over aged" didnt make it in top 20 for me. Subjective and down to personal opinion, sure, but it is how it is.

 

Also, algaguzzi was VERY high in my asessment - top 3 high.

 

[EDIT] Participate in "best avatar / realistic" competition and, if I get to be a Judge there, I`ll have you in top 5 at least. But this was not "best avatar / realistic" I think, or I didn`t take it as one.

Yes, it shows creativity, instead of being lazy maybe you should've added one and maybe you wouldn't need to be salty about "people who dedicate their lives to this game".
