How I imagine this contest ending. Especially for a GTAV game. Hahaha [+18] [+18] [+18] NOT FOR KIDS.

 

 

I was watching the video without sound at the office. The judges started to applause in the scene, when a colleague came in the room. I was lmao and she asked me what was wrong with me :D:blush::O

What do you do for fun? Killing lvl 5's with an Hydra? Well we do this. Events is fun and get people to be active, enjoy checking gtaf and have something more to do ingame, like me who really dosent bother with ingame clothes, but this made me spend time looking for outfits and places to take pics. I use this forum for fun. If you use it another way, fine by me, just dont come here and talk down on those who enjoy this event.

To my understanding, last gen players have access to the same makeup, hair and accessories that current gen players do.

 

Granted the graphics aren't on the same level, but that's what happens when people aren't on new gen consoles. I get that some people either, can't afford new gen, or don't want to play new gen, but that's the nature of things. Most people who have entered this contest are new gen players, but there was a handful of last gen players who have entered as well.

This contest isn't just about "boosting digital egos" as you say. So far from my experience, it's been a lot of fun and I've met plenty of other players that I would not have come across if it wasn't for this contest. This contest gives others a chance to show the community who they are and people are able to see the diverse people who make up GTAF/GTA Online.

 

No matter the outcome of this, at least I'll come out of it with a few new friends, and that's pretty cool in it's own right.

 

I agree with FrikkenZz as well, if you don't have anything nice to say, then you shouldn't say anything at all.

Thing is, it's a no-win situation:

- Allow old-gen entries, and 'the competition's unfair, because it's not a level playing field'.

 

- Level the playing field by limiting it to the re-release version (XB1/PS4/PC), and 'the competition discriminates against old-gen players'.

 

- Same for PC: allow R* Editor pics, and 'PC players have an advantage over console players'.

 

- Level that playing field by limiting things to stuff PC/consoles do equally, and 'you hate the R* Editor, and discriminate against PC players!'.

 

 

What's next? There's more PS4 players in general - so I'm guessing 'competition unfairly favours PS4 players!'.

 

Given the situation, I say X S has done the best he can trying to include as many people as possible, and keep things fair in terms of said level playing field. Only alternative is to have 3 different contests for old-gen, new-gen and PC (or hell, 5 - one for each machine...), but imagine how unwieldy that'd be - and likewise, it'd just dilute and fragment the entries, which'd make the competition less effective (more entries = stronger competition).

tbh, the submissions should have been set to one unedited submission, the whole competition seems to have descended into endless self promotion...

 

 

You wouldn't get that kind of thing happening in Miss Blaine County....

My Miss Blaine County thread seems to have been nuked.. was a satirical response to some of the abuse I got for questioning some of the procedure in the last MLS competition when the final was foisted upon us without a chance to have a say in what images were used etc despite being told the second phase would mean more input from the competitors.. in fact, some of the abuse came from accounts that seemed to have joined to support certain contestants and abuse me specifically.. I think the abuse continued in that thread as well.. Given that all I argued was for a level playing field, it was quite uncalled for..

 

Plus it did involve a drunken race up Mt Chilliad as one of the competition rounds... far more interactive you ask me.. :D

This was mentioned earlier, and my view of it is that it's no different to having your submission saved on your PC and changing it hundreds of times and then posting it on the last day. I seriously doubt that all the "I've made a change - here's my submission [link]" posts will have actually influenced or changed anything. I for one am looking at the submissions now, after the closing date, and judging them as they stand now. I really don't get why this is even being raised as it's just not important.

Was a year ago, but heck I may well do it in a months time for the lolz..

 

Would require online interaction tho...

 

I wonder if it's possible to set a race to tractors... we could have a bikini tractor race round the fields of Grapeseed as one event.. :D
